Ce matin du 07 mai 2014, à 9h10, j'ai reçu un appel du no 315-791-4442 après les explications du même type de monsieur que les autres personnes ont décrit, j'ai raccroché mais il a immédiatement rappelé, il insistait fortement pour que j'aille sur internet afin d'installer un logiciel appelé Ammyy Admin, ce que j'ai refusé.
J'ai demandé son no de téléphone puis son nom, celui qu'il m'a donné, après une seconde d'hésitation, est Daniel...quand j'ai demandé son nom de famille: Daniel prénom alors: Marc et répète je m'appelle Marc Daniel (bizarre pour quelqu'un avec un fort accent Indien...)

Hello,  I got the same call this am, around 7:30.  A guy named Eric Brown with a strong Indu accent, claiming they got my information from the windows server.......I held him on the phone for around 30 minutes asking him questions, told him I did not trust this call.  He went on and on then gave me the number 315.........told me to call and verify.  Then he called back 15 minutes later asking me if I did the call verification....I said no and hung up.  Should we call the Police?

They just called me now and since I was not willing to go through with the call I asked for info on them, name and phone number and they gave me this number.  they also asked that I go AMMYY.COM and so while on the phone, I picked up my iPad and check that site and it was written in bold.....IF you get a call from a tech saying he his from Microsoft Window....this is a scam so I hung up and closed my computer ...... he just then called me back 15 minutes later.

I received a phone call this morning around7h30 from a guy name Daniel Martin regarding my computer.  My windows had been corrupt apparently and I would loose everything...I ask him how did he get my number and he told me I was registed...whitch I doubt.  I ask him his phone number and name and said I would call back if I wanted to. I wanted to check on the internet the number 315-719-4442.  This early in the morning, knowing my name and phone...He told me it would be him answering! I ask for customer service...???

La personne dit qu'elle travaille pour Windows. Que mon ordinateur a été attaqué par un virus qui va voler mes données et les effacer par la suite. Il veut que j'ouvre mon ordinateur afin de régler le problème. Deux appels de ce genre en 1 semaine.

They called me today March 26,2014 telling me they were with windows ,microsoft security for computers, and that I have a major virus on my computer.

Watch out they wanted to install a program called Software Ammyy Admin.That gives them the access to your computer without your control.
Beware.

j'ai recu le meme tel., meme histoire, meme no. tel., accent asiatique. la premiere fois ete la semaine passé, puis ce matin vers 7H45 .... je lui dis que je l'apellerai .... je ne le ferai pas sans doute .. je trouve ca bizare ... il repete les appels, laisse le meme no. telephone, y-a-t-il un moyen de le faire arrete ce monsieur

These calls are still being made in Canada. I received several phone calls from the same guy. This morning, i went through some part of his "process" for my computer to make sure he was trying to "sc..." me and i was correct.

Be aware they get information on you and are very efficient... for people who do not know computer very well... They know how to talk to people to get what they want!!!

I also got a call this morning at 8:105.  I was still sleeping.  She then asked if I was in front on my computer and I said I was still in bed.  I asked her phone number and she gave me 315-791-4442. I'm pretty sure it is fraud. I did not call back.

I received a call this morning from a guy saying there was a virus in my computer that was' nt detectable with my antivirus. This virus was supposed to slow down my computer. I asked him wich computer for I have 3 of them. He was stuned by my answer and finally told me the 3 of them. This sound weird to me. He wanted absolutely that connected with a web address in order to correct the problem. I ask him: Who tell me you're from Windows? He gave me the phone number. He told me his name was Brian Connor. He had an asiatic accent. Don't acces to his demand. This a scam for sure.

I also got a call this morning at 7:45.  I was still sleeping. The fellow with the heavy accent asked me to turn on my computer.  He then asked if I was in front on my computer and I said I was still in bed.  I asked where he called from and he said New York.  I told him to call back in an hour which he did.  I was having breakfast and had to leave to pick up my grandson so I asked his phone number and name.  He said he was Alex and his number was (315) 791-4442.  I wrote the anti fraud center and then checked the area codes in the phone book.  I found that (315) was in Syracuse.  I evidently did not call him back.  Nothing is wrong with my computer.

I received a call this morning at 9:23 from 206-555-0100 (caller ID - M1205092301001) telling me that I have a problem with windows, that my computer was sending information to their server and he wanted to fix it, he asked me to open my computer so I could see for myself what he wanted to show me. The more questions I asked the more he became persistant and kept repeating "now listen" "oh god now listen" very impatient.  He had an indian accent I asked him to speak slower to understand exactly what company he was from but never answered the question only said he was technical service. He actually told me if I did not want to cooperate that my Windows license will be revoked!  when I told him that I was going to hang up he gave me a number to call 315-791-4442 then I said that I was hanging up and did, he called right back then some other man also with an indian accent took the line and said the same rubbish and persistently told me that my Windows license will be rovoked.  Finaly he gave me the number again and told me to call and he was going to call back in 5 min. I told him it was not long enough for me to verify the information thouroughly, so far he has not called back. He told me I had trust issues!? (wonder why)  

You should assume that they do , indeed, have access to all your information.  You'll have to change all your passwords immediately and ask your bank to put fraud alerts on all your accounts.  You may also want to alert the credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) so that they can put fraud alerts on your credit files too.

Microsoft and its partners do NOT call you unless you have called them first (or sent them an online help ticket).  They also do not monitor everyone's computers, so they don't know if your computer is putting out viruses or errors or not.  You should also take your computer to a bricks and mortar store and ask them to check the computer for viruses, malware, keyloggers etc - tell them what happened.  Worst case scenario - they'll have to reformat the hard drive (deleting any files, photos etc that you had).

Consider it an expensive lesson learned - NEVER give any caller remote access to your computer, unless you have verified who they are and you called them first.

I got caught.  What to do if I gave them all the information they wanted?  Have they had access to all my information?  Passwords, etc.?

Yup, this is the third time they call me in two days!!! They say to be from Microsoft technical service...and that I have a virus and that I needed their technical support. I told him that I had a cousin who is a computer technician and that I'd have him look in my computer because I didn't trust him and that I believed that it was a scam to hack my computer. Then he stopped talking and then the same voice said; '' Hello, this is the manager'' I said to him just give me your number and we will get back to you and this is the phone number he gave me 315-791-4442 and his name was John Walker with an indie accent...

Je me doutais que c'était louche.Il voulait que je pèse sur mon clavier Ctrl R. J'ai demandé son nom John Walker et numéro 315-791-4442 et demandé d'où venait l'appel, il a dit New-York. Lorsque je lui ai dit que j'appellerait la police et qu'il était fraudeur, il est devenu furieux après-moi et j'ai raccroché.  Châteauguay, Québec. Canada

Received call today from a gentlemen (His Line....Hello Madam,.... telling me about a computer error etc, must be corrected, could u pls go to the computer.)  Told the gentlemen I was not near the computer, asked if I could call him back shortly, and asked for his number to call him back. He gave me 315-791-4442 hesitated on 4442, I then asked where he was calling from, I knew area code 315 was not Canada, his answer was New York. I then asked for his name cause I wanted to speak with him.  He gave me John, I said John who, cause I want to speak with you. He said John Walker with and Indian accent. Ignore and hang up. I received a similiar call 2 weeks ago from an Indian gentlemen very polite, I told him I was too busy with a handicap person at that moment and hung up. A few hours b4 that call  my son in law living an  an hour away and very knowledgeable with computers received  a similar call, but got him talking (sorry but again an Indian person), so he warned me about this scam which I had already received. THEY JUST DONT GIVE UP

Received a call from Michael Jackson who told me he represented the Service Company for Windows.  When I said I brought my computer into the shop when needed he assured me that the local repair people could not accomplish what he could. I believe Michael was right, my local shop offers quick, good service at a reasonable price, while he offered something else, perhaps pain & suffering, perhaps messing up my hard drive, maybe even missing up my charge cards. Anyway a bad connection terminated the call prior to Michael be able to extract "whatever" from me.

I don't know the scam here but ignore and hang up. Do not offer any information. My 92 yr old father got this similar call yesterday - preying on the vulnerable. The cool thing is that my dad has a Mac and not Windows so he was able to dismiss him readily.

As for 315-791-4442 being in the UK - where is the Country code then? Actually it is in Troy, Alabama.

No one should get mad if they are a legitimate business at you the customer.

I hope that they call here, but then again - they won't listen to what I have to say.

They just called me as well, July 08, 2013. Edward was the name of the caller and sounded like an indie woman. He/she, said it is windows 7 that downloaded bad applications ( I had to ask 3 times what windows I am using, if I am)...of course, 7 is the option almost everybody has now...I did not want to provide any info, asked their phone number...same as indicated above: 615 791 4442- toll free # from NY city...scam! told him/her, that this does not look like toll free number but he insisted he /she is calling from Microsoft technical services...the ph # on the caller ID was 971 217 9514

I just rcvd a call  same tel number ..first his name was Edward then Charles called back  they called 3 times
i told them i called the 9-1-1, the police to advise .....if ever i had a problem i would call them back myself
the line is very not clear and they have an accent .....as if on a cell phone ....

said they were calling from WIndows Technical Dept ...

i got the same call this morning and i said that i don't speak English and ask to talk to someon who speak french and he got very upset the only think he want' s me to go on my computer so i refused and hung up!

I got the same phone call yesterday.  They hang up when I asked for their phone number.  They called me back this morning and I got the same message:  my computer is infected by a very dangerous virus, bla, bla, bla..... When I asked for a phone number I got 315-791-4442.  They pretend that they are working as support & technical services for Windows.
I sent a note to Microsoft related to that call.

I also received a call from ''technical support'' from windows indicating i had issues to be corrected ? I notice
they had an indie like accent. and wanted me to subscribe to this site www.ammyy.com so they could get access to my computer??
the more question I asked the more I got suspicious
I  ask for an 800 number so that I could vérify the call and they left that 315 791-4442
I known that microsoft is more in the habit of giving you adress to their web site so you can resolve issues yourself

it is the RCMP that should be contacted with those issues for us Canadian?

My Mom got a call from 971-217-9514 early this morning, telling here that here computer is infected by a virus. The lady told her another number to call back : 315-791-4442. The lady told she was Ms. Jackson.

They told here she had a bad Windows virus. Unfortunately for them, only Linux is installed!

The lady was yelling, trying to push my mother to get her services.

I received a call from a Windows Tech Support person who said the line was not good so he hung up and called again. The 2nd person stated that the Windows office was getting error messages from my home computer. He would help me via the telephone to fix the issues. I did not have to be afraid because I was a registered customer with windows. He was able to tell me my home address. He said I could fix my computer ?off line? so it was safe. I informed him that it was not a convenient time and he offered to call back. I said that did not make me feel good and I wanted his # so I could call back at my convenience. #315-791-4442.
