Automated message said the call was from the FBI, and that my local police department suggested they call me and come out and install a security device in my yard to make me feel safer. Yeah, OK.I hung up on them.

This number has called me, too. No message but as least now I know who it is. Thank you for helping me out with these numbers I really appreciate it.

Listen with either AT&T or Verizon and maybe all carriers, you can block any number from calling or texting you.  I just added this number to my list after reading these posts.  He won't be calling me anymore

all those things that ask for a phone number, I give them my Google Voice number which has this nifty feature where you can block any number and it will give the telco message "this number is not in service, please try again" and then hangs up.  Works for extended family who give my number out as a reference without asking me, for cash register nosiness/marketing, and for utility bills that usually only call to sell me something - ahem, Time Warner?  Works for the car dealership that shows so much concern for their customer after the sale, that they nag me to come in for their overpriced, appointment-only, oil change (BLOCKED), the Columbus Dispatch and their endless telemarketing (BLOCKED),

I don't know who these idiots are but my phone is a prepaid from Wal-Mart and I am charged per the call and per the text message. I don't need these jack***es using up all my balance for telemarketing.

This was a ploy to sell a "free" security system.
Why do I have to pay for their commercial with my phone minutes?  This should be illegal.

My phone is a tracfone, as anonymous as I can get.  I buy cards, the phone is registered in one name (like Madonna or Cher), it has no association with an address or a phone number--hell, I set it up using a truck stop payphone--so why would these morons think I needed a home security system?  Also, I don't give the number out to anyone save IMMEDIATE family--I have fewer than a dozen "contacts" in my address book.    It's an "emergency" phone, nothing more!

If I don't know the number that pops up,  I don't respond, but I came by here to see if anyone else had heard from these bozos.

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone. Did not answer as I did not recognize the area code. Just love the fact that telephone solicitors can harass us on our cells now too. Was it not bad enough that they make our home phones ring every hour of the day?

At about 1:10 this number called me

A computer automated voice offered a security system at "no cost to you whatsoever, with no cost for installation."

Sound too good to be true? I'll bet it is.

Didn't recognize the number, didn't answer, it went to voice mail. It was an automated message claiming to want to install a security system.  Said '"For more information press '1' to be on a no call list press '9'.
