This company has called me many many times. I can see who they are on my caller ID. I finally answered. It give u an option to have your number removed from the data base which i did on more than one occasions. They still call. Sometimes several times per day. It is extremely irritating, intrusive and illegal. In addition I am on a do not call list. This company has clearly disregard the laws and are absolutely obnoxious
In their business practices. They need to be reprimanded or fined or something. Why would u want to work for a company that clearly disregard the laws?
happy2haveAjob 2013-02-17 04:36:17 Unknown
happy2haveAjoball your complaints I couldnt help but to add my 2 cents ..I work for Vera-fast and if it weren't for them I'd be not only jobless but disabled and homeless.
You know I too get random calls daily that I am not interested in sometimes I listen sometimes I hang up. No big deal, yes sometimes its anoying and being disabled its hard to get to the phone at times just to hear that someone wants to sell me insurance..but I get over it. Don't spend the rest of my day trying to finure out a way to damn the company.
#1 you get a partial mess at times due to the length of your a/m message
#2 we are not dialing the numbers they are computer generated we have no way of knowing what time of day you will be called
#3 different news papers from across the country hire us to make the call from their lists based on the address where the paper was or is being delivered to it all depends onthe purpose of the call
#4 if,as some have said, you have called said paper to see if they have hired us..have you talked to EVERYONE there? DO YOU KNOW EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON INNER OFFICE where you work..NO!
#5 Veraa-fast has been in business for over 35 years DO YA THINK THEY'D STILL BE IN BUSINESS IF ALL 12 OF YOU HAD MANAGED TO BRING EM DOWN JUST BECAUSE OF THE WAY A MESSAGE IS LET.
#6 News papers are not the only things we make calls about. So you all really didnt dig that far
#7 Back to what I said at the begining I lost everything I owned due to medical problems. If it weren't for the fact that I can work for this company from my own home, I would have nothing! And I can assure you, as a person who has been down and out I would NOT be working for this company if I thought for a moment there were even the slightest hint of a scam...also I worked for them years ago too.
#8 Oh and 1 more thing do you all get this p.o'd at your friends if they don't let a message? Get Real People after all these yrs do you really think it wouldd still be going on... I could see if it were a fly by night pick up company that no one ever heard of before!
SO IF YOU GET A CALL JUST SAY NO IM NOT INTERESTED "IF YOU'RE NOT" ASK TO BE PUT ON DO NOT CALL LIST..EASY AS THAT NO NEED TO GET YOUR PANTIES IN A BUNCH..WE'RE ALL BIG GIRLS N BOYS PLAY NICE..FOR EVERY 10 PEOPLE WHO SAY NO GIVES ME MORE TIME TO TAKE WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAPPY I CALLED!

We changed phone services during a move an ended up with a phone in an empty house for several weeks. When I was fianlly able to break into the voice-mail. we had an average of three calls a day from Verifast in the middle of each week. We suspect they may also be using (360) 836?484?4 but are not sure. This is now a fax line so we really don't care.
fiona 2013-01-12 12:50:23 Unknown
That company is the worst company to work for! Get out why you can! There are so many other company's out there that offer work for home.
Magoozer 2013-01-04 02:41:40 Unknown
Well, I guess the same could be said about your comment queenb*tch. You do NOT address the topic and have no solutions yet you justify wasting your time posting comments telling others they have too much time on their hands and suggest that they get a job. Tell us... exactly how much were you paid to post a worthless comment complaining about those posting for a reason? The same goes for kandi4paul.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I get calls from Verafast and came here looking for possible help.... Not wasting my time reading posts from people like you who are obviously so miserable and have so much time on their hands that they feel compelled to make everyone else miserable rather than using this time to address your own issues.
Those who you tell to get a real job probably put in more working hours than you and make twice the salary that you make. So to you I say.... Get a life!

Verafast is a legitimate company. Their purpose is to call people whose names are given to them by your local newspapers. Newspapers all across the country hire Verafast (because they're a call center capable of making high quality calls) to offer them deals on newspapers or give out free "Sunday Selects." However, they do make other calls. Including Start Renewals, Non-Payment Stops, ect. The newspapers that they work for are very much aware that Verafast is making these calls, as they are hired to do so. The customer service people are acting like they are unaware of any of this as to placate a complaining customer.
Also note, if Verafast calls you claiming that you owe money, it's because you do. You more than likely took a newspaper on a promotional period. Because you didn't read the fine print, you are unaware that delivery continues past the promotional period and therefor, you're at fault.
If you no longer want to receive phone calls from Verafast, all you have to do is tell the person that you want your number placed on the Do Not Call list. They will abide and verify the number that they have dialed (which a computer actually dials, they don't have a list in front of them). Just a random tidbit of information, do not claim you're on a National Do Not Call list. The federal Do Not Call list is a sham. That kind of legislation is a job killer and so there are lots of loopholes. However, individual companies must abide by their own Do Not Call list per The FCC. So if Verafast calls you telling you that you owe money, it's because you do and they're trying to give you a discount on paying off your past due balance and restarting your paper. You can ask them to put you on their DNC list, to which they will abide. However, the outstanding balance will find it's way to a collection agency. Collection agencies are exempt from Do Not Call lists.
I know all of this because I'm a current employee. And a damn good one if I do say so myself.
P.S. The call center is located in Rocky River, OH. The reason weird numbers show up is because nobody is hand dialing you from one specific number. What you're seeing are the router numbers since the phone calls are being made from an intranet. Think of it as something similar to Skype.
You're welcome.

Explain to me, how is this a scam? This company has been in business since 1978.I'm so sick of you regular 9 to 5/ yes sir answers to your boss workers, accusing companies like Verafast that's making an honest living doing their jobs, to service their customers, give you the right to call this company a scam.Just because a company doesn't require you to drive to work/answer to your boss/doesn't make it a "Scam".
Know you facts 9 to 5 people before you criticize!!
SEXYSHANNON 2012-07-17 12:28:56 Unknown
JUST ANSWER THE PHONE!, SAY YES OR NO, DNC AND IT WILL STIOP. IF NOT, YOU WILL BE MISERABLE
QUEENB*TCH 2012-07-17 12:24:42 Unknown
SOMEBODY THAT HAS TIME TO FOCUS ON A COMPANY WITH NO PAY, AND FIND OUT EVERYONES EXT. IS JUST SICK. YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS, AND I THINK A JOB SHOULD BE IN ORDER FOR YOU.......... THATS A REAL JOB!!!! AND THEY DON'T LEAVE MESSAGES
KANDI4PAUL 2012-07-17 12:18:14 Unknown
SO IM TAKING THAT YOUR A STAY AT HOME DAD WITH NO JOB AND NOTHING ELSE TO DO THAN MAKE FAXES AND CALLS YOU WON'T GET PAID FOR?? WOW...IF YOU JUST SIMPLY ASK FOR THE DNC LIST THEY WILL HONOR THIS 100% BECAUSE IT IS A LAW THAT WHEN YOU ASK FOR THIS YOUR HONORED!
kandi4paul 2012-07-17 12:12:18 Unknown
actually that will not work, because if they use verafast its there source of advertising. What you can do is the next time you get a call, just ask to be put on the dnc list or just respond no to the offer. You should not receive any more unwanted phone calls if follow this procedure, not unless you have a duplicate number in the system.

Same thing with me. Started calling about a week ago. First call said "verifying number, we'll call back." Now they are calling twice a day. Annoying.
steve 2011-06-16 14:38:39 Unknown
Thanks. I called Verafast and actually talked to a person. She said they work for newspapers, so I asked what newspaper hired them to call our home. She said she would forward my request to someone who could tell me. Amazingly, the next day I got a live call from another Verafast employee who told me it was the Star Tribune (Minneapolis paper). We have subscribed to that paper for years. I called the Strib, and a circulation person said she was totally unaware of the situation. I am going to call someone higher up.
I did get Verafast to end the calls. We'll see; they said it would take five days . . .
toofunny 2011-06-10 15:55:13 Unknown
That is way too funny... just wish it wasn't long distance to call.
Russ 2011-06-06 20:45:58 Unknown
I've actually answered that call a twice. Once I heard a woman say "oh" and then hang up. And the second time there was just silence.

Call your local newspaper and ask the subscription department if they use Verifast to get new customers. The local papers do not know that this company is using the information on what time of day you answer your phone to sell to collection agencies and other companies. They do not know that Verifast calls up to 15 times in a week to get information on you. The newspapers do not want their customers treated this way and they will get Verifast to stop calling. You can report them to the government but nothing will happen. Report them to the folks who unknowingly hired them.
Verafast scam? 2009-09-15 22:24:11 Telemarketer
Verfast called me this week several times claiming I owed money to the local newspaper but they would waive the fees if I renewed. I don't owe anyone any money and told them so and asked them not to call again. Feels a lot like a scammer call to me.
