03/26/2013 3:56 PM. Caller ID said "RCI". But the call was not about an RCI timeshare. Instead, there was a recorded message about reducing my credit card interest rates.

Umm... maybe they are an actual company (timeshare/vacation company) but their methods are totally questionable and inappropriate. I am NOT an RCI member, nor have I ever given them my contact info and they repeatedly call me at my work number which is private, even after I have asked them to forget my number numerous times.

This is the number for RCI (Surveys RC). Apparently you can call 800-338-7777 and have your number removed.
Anabel 2012-05-09 01:04:44 Unknown
They called, but they dont leave a message.

Has anyone got any more detail on this? They're calling me several times a day from somewhere near Indianapolis, Indiana, USA but that's all I know so far.
Michel L 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
This is not a scam. I am a member of RCI and had applied for an exchange on my vacation resort. They were calling me to update my search.
Tim C. 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
Mine was RCI calling to offer me a discount if I paid for my membership for five or ten years in advance. I am an RCI member. I took them up on the 5-year plan and saved a few dollars. If you are not an RCI member, then they may have an incorrect phone number. If so, then just call them back. They can look your number up on their system and correct the error. If you are a member, RCI could be calling you about any number of reasons, as others have said above. It's not a scam.

this number is a scam ...it is a fraud
Emy 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
Irritating. How do get them to stop calling my personal cell phone on minutes I pay for?
RCI informer 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
These calls can be about numerous things related to your RCI account. To get them to stop calling you cel phone or the number they are calling, you must call them and remove that phone number from you contact info. You might be able to do it online also? Keep in mind if you totally remove all your phone numbers, the company will never call you, about searches, expiring weeks, expiring membership, specials...etc..
Its not a scam, whoever wrote that, you pay them a membership to belong to them, so they are just trying to service you (which is what they are paid to do)

Sorry about the typo's. Also it could be something about your vacation that you have booked. Resort information or something?
Dont ignore it, just call the 800 # back, dont recall the 317 phone number and then complain to the guide that its costing you $$ because you called long distance. Anyone can help you on your account!
Good Day!
Cheryl 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
I have asked them months ago to not call me and now they are starting up again. What recourse do I have except to ignore it and look up the number on the computer?
Gpa 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
RCI called me from this number about a job opening I applied for. If you are an RCI member, or recently contacted them about a job opportunity, this is certainly NOT a scam.
Joann in Sacramento 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
RCI called to remind me that a banked timeshare week was going to expire in a couple of months-luckily I had the opportunity to exchange without losing my banked week and maintenance fee. Not a scam, but a nice service to save my banked investment.
emptysky1 2011-06-06 20:45:59 Unknown
This is NOT a scam it is a timeshare company. They were calling my cell phone too until I gave them another contact number.

ANNOYING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER KEEP COMING HOW CAN I STOP THEM
MollysMom 2010-05-05 13:31:40 Unknown
Been calling me for 2 days now, and the caller ID says "Carmel, Indiana". I have no time shares, and never requested info about one. Getting annoying, as they call a few times a day.
carroll 2010-04-28 16:55:05 Unknown
if its a RCI or what ever they are i have never applied or gotten a timeshare. im only 17. so how did they get my number and why are they calling me several times a day?
RAP 2010-03-26 14:26:49 Unknown
You've got to be kidding! If you are so great, why can't you,at least ID yourself, especially if you want a return call. Don't call me, I'll call you.
Simon 2010-03-22 23:07:18 Unknown
Since a few days, they call 1 time a day. I never deal with RCI. I live in Canada
TREEHOUSE04 2009-09-20 17:30:19 Unknown
NAME SAYS RCI. IF IT IS REGARDING MY "TIMESHARE" I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHEN I JOINED SOMETHING AND WHEN I PURCHASED A TIMESHARE....
DB 2009-08-05 23:36:29 Unknown
Thank you. This is helpful. Now I know who's calling me.
RCI agent 2009-04-16 14:44:05 Telemarketer
Do answer the call, or call the 800 # back, its RCI. A membership that you have joined to trade timeshares!! They can not leave a message, due to the call being on a dialer. So, dont wait on that to happen, just answer or call them back (on the 800 #, so its not long distance), incase its something urgent! Anyone there can help.
mb 2009-03-16 12:15:15 Unknown
Have no clue who this is - comes up no name and they do not leave a message. I do not answer numbers I do not know!
Angry of Aylesbury 2008-11-17 14:37:56 Unknown
Well, I was brave and called the number back (prefixed by 141 to withold my own number). It's RCI (http://www.rci.com/), a holiday company we use. They're probably calling to get us to renew our membership with them and see if they can tempt us into a winter break.
RCI have occasionally called from the US and from Ireland in the past, it's just that this is not a number I've seen come up before. I had to devert the 'phone to a mobile in order to get the Caller Id. as BT don't pass it through to the landline and they don't have it on 1471 either.
