It's Funny Because I Had Actually Worked With Brenda Stahl At Ikan in Van Horne, Iowa (Yes, IA stands for iowa, the small state no one seems to know exists) and Honestly, these are people too. They Have to make these calls to earn the s*** pay. And People... Honestly, quit being jerks to them, we didnt get to pick who we called.

Brenda Stahl calling to update information to continue sending free magazine to one of our Engineers. No thanks. Put her on hold until she hung up. Caller ID shows Van Horne, IA.

"Brick Nelson" (?) calling to update information regarding one of our engineers so they could "continue to send him a free magazine". No, thanks.....put the guy through to the spam voice mail.

Honestly, I feel it's the same girl calling everytime too, her voice sounds familiar. But she just won't take no for an answer!! I keep telling her NO! She called for someone who hasn't even worked here for like 5 years!! Everytime she calls NO, so she keeps calling, honey it ain't going to happen. Next time I'm just hanging up.

Sorry guys about the repetition in my post. Trying to do this on a cell phone with a small screen.

I think you need to check a few of your facts.
What you and others don't realize is the Do Not Call list actually does work. All the legitimate companies who adhere to the law do not call you anymore. 99% of the calls you are getting are from scammers or companies who think they are too small to be bothered with by the FTC.
Why would you do business with a company who broke the law to get your business anyway.
A perfect example. Would you trust an alarm company trying to sell you an alarm by cold calling you illegally?
As far as an unlisted number, telemarketers computers are programmed to start dialing the area code, a prefix, then start with 0000 and go through 9999 for the last four digits.
The best suggestion you have is to buy a call blocking phone. However, you need to get one with the ability to block a ton of numbers. A phone that can block twenty numbers is useless.

As far as nothing being litigated, the FTC has a number of law suits in process against the phone companies who support these scum bags. Trying to shut down all these scammers is like playing wack a mole. You shut one down and twenty pop up to replace it and many of those are overseas. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out its impossible to do so.

Additionally, the FTC has come up with a a solution called NoMoTobo which is a service that blocks these jerks with a computer program that check the calling numbers against a list of known spammers. The service is free.
You can also check with your phone service provider. I know Uverse provides call blacking with their bundled services.
Just my effort to correct a few things.

Brenda Stahl from Composite Technology Magazine calling to update info on one of our Associate Engineers; sent her to spam voicemailbox. And if they are as persistent as other commenters have said, will continue to send to the no-man's land voice mails.

I told her again just now that he's not interested, if she calls back again I'm going to be less than hospitable...

Calls daily to "update our information" so owner of firm "can continue to receive" a free publication. I'm 99.99% sure this is a means of building a telemarketing list on the grounds that once we confirm the information, we have agreed to receive sales calls from everyone and anyone. A couple years ago, with the same publication, I simply refused to cooperate and the publication never stopped arriving.
When I pointed out we'd had this call on Friday, the person said they were going to keep calling until we cooperated. From here on out, I'm pranking them, as I don't have the option to not answer the phone.

This number calls looking to renew a magazine subscription. They don't take NO for an answer. I just hang up on them. Wish they would quit.

If you call the number back, it answers as Blue Valley, a telemarketer. Here's the BBB report on them:

Just received a call from them on my cell phone. Did not leave a message. They have called before and I would not answer, because I was driving.

Calling me almost daily for the past week or so. I never pickup calls like these from places (like Van Horn IA) where I have no acquaintances. Suggest all do the same..

They call my business several times a week and usually there is no one on the other end. When they do talk I can tell they are calling from a call center. Very annoying especially as I have asked them to remove us from their calling list SEVERAL times.
Frederique 2013-06-26 18:26:31 Unknown
They called from this number again and I didn't answer this time. They didn't leave a message...
omk 2013-06-24 21:41:50 Unknown
Calls twice a day. I just left a message asking them to remove me from their call list. Legitimate callers would leave a message. Weird and annoying.

Frederique 2013-06-21 16:05:43 Unknown
They called and when I answered I said hello and then a series of tones followed, then a clicking noise then some mechanical sounding voice came on. I would have been terrified if I took this call at night.
Mary 2013-06-20 16:10:41 Unknown
STOP CALLING. They call and hang up on my business phone, it is a waste of my time...time is money.

It's a woman from IKAN calling wanting to update our mailing information so we can continue to receive their free publication, one that we don't even receive to begin with. I said no thanks. She said that if just one person can benefit from this publication, they will send it anyway. I told her not to and that it was just a waste of paper. That stunned her a little.
