I got the same email.. I trusted to much and i send the money so i will be going to police and the bank i have all the emails and text message from cellphone

The number is the same as what I got but mine is a Kelvin John kelvinjohn1111@gmail.com claiming to ba a representative for Rockstar Energy Drink. I was told I will make $400/ week for 3 months and was sent an initial check for $1850. I was instructed to deduct $400 for my pmt and send the rest via western union to a Detailer, (a person) whose name and address have changed in a week. I took the check to 2 different places to cash it and neither could. He has horrible grammar for an employee of such a large company. I have not sent money but I have contacted Rockstar about this and am waiting to hear back. The check was from Trofford C/O content distributors LLC.

I received the same e-mail in response to a tutoring ad I had posted on Craigslist. Their e-mail reads:
"Hello,
Get back to me if you are available to lesson my daughter Angela for two weeks ,await your response to my email jerryjesse303@gmail.com
Regards."
It seemed vague and suspicious, so I Googled the e-mail address and came across this website.

I just checked back here for the first time in months and interesting to see that the apparent scam artist has continued with the same scam for so many months. Please note that I did file a complaint with the U.S. Postal Service since potential mail fraud is involved. I also contacted Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company and mailed them the fake check that was issued under their name with print-outs of all pertinent information.

I googled the initial email address after they sent me a second message today -an answer to a French tutoring ad I posted on CL- and found this very useful board. I had not answered the first one I got last week, it was the same one that has already been posted here.
Here is the new one with a new address:

Many thanks to everyone here for the information!

I have also received emails for this scam from "Jessica Larry". I was suspicious from the start but have been playing along for a while. She would never answer my questions or anything. What really started to click was the fact that I got an email from a "Benjamin Smith" with the same exact emails that started with "Jessica". I also got a heads up from a person who "Jessica" contacted as well, but I won't go into detail as to the who or the how they contacted me (just in case). Anyways, I am putting an end to it, but the humorous thing is that they are still trying. They tried saying that the check was already processing and what would happen and I told them. The funnier thing is that after I told them what I would do with the check, I added a question of why was a check being drafted when I did not finalize anything. I post more info as events transpire (if they do anyway).

This is a scam. Report it to an agency immediately and avoid giving out personal details.

Thanks, you guys, for the information! I received an email today just like the one described in the first post above from a "Jessica Larry" from the UK, moving to Dayton, OH for a contract with ABC. "Jessica" wanted English lessons for her 16 year old daughter and asked me to send her certain information to mail me a check, but she said the address could not be a PO--that was the second red flag. The first red flag was this person's bad grammar and punctuation, considering they claim to be from the UK and working for American Broadcasting Company. All I did was google this person's email address-- jessica6t7k@gmail.com--and I found this page. So thanks again, folks!

Thank you for this message. I was also contacted by a Jessica Larry with identical information and backstory. This post saved me a good deal of frustration.
| Dwight Sora 2013-05-03 14:19:58 Unknown |
The person calling me from this number previously e-mailed me using the name "Jessica Larry" using the address jessica6t7k@gmail.com. They claimed to be moving to Chicago from the UK to work for the American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and were seeking martial arts lessons from the club I manage for their daughter. Our dues are $60, but they mailed me a check for over $1,000.00 with instructions to send the balance via Western Union to a cab company that would be driving their daughter from home to the martial arts club. The 'cab company' address given was a person (Aaron Green, 32 N. Main Street, Rosenberg, TX 77501). The check arrived and appears genuine (Check says it is from Vanguard Fiduciary Trust Company, 100 Vanguard Boulevard, Malvern, PA 19355), and was mailed via Fedex from a sender identified as 'Smith Andrew' of RCT LLC, 1014 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202. I did not follow through with any of the instructions as this apppeared to be a confidence scam. I did not receive actual phone calls but follow-up texts from the 312-236-1165 number urging me to send the balance via Western Union. Texts were made on 4/29/13. No contact from person since that time.
