Let me start with this. People all too often think they know everything when in acuality they know nothing. I know that charity or organization calling is sometimes annoying, but how else can it be done. All to often someone gets a call from a charity or police group and rite away they think its a scam, well its not. The fop happens to be the worlds biggest and oldest police union. Did you know that.....nnnnooooo. Do they collect money over the phone...yes. They do alot of good in the community with the donations they collect. What have you done in your community lately??? Do the people get paid for calling.....of course.do you work for nothing??? Can you tell me of a charity that doesnt have administrative fees.........People tell me all the time " i give to the United Way" a truley great group.........but how does the ceo get paid.....threw the donations of course. Wow wake up people. I dont agree with professional telemarketing companys getting 80 percent of the collected money.........but some people work directly for the charity or organization, with no 3rd party involved. Those people who work the phones are no different then the ones who work for JERRYS KIDS.do you think Jerry does it for free???? It takes money to make money. I get a call from a police organization each year, and gladly give them a donation each time. I have gone to there shows that they do each year and they are very professionally put on. They always have household names performing......Oh and once when i couldnt give money, that person was very polite and said no problem , we will talk to you next year, and the call ended on a happy note. Dont get me wrong there are some scams and they should be reported......but then again there are scams in every type of business word wide........Have A good day!!!!!! Oh, and by the way, a police officer will never call you on the phone for a donation, its against the law...............

Apparently there is a "string" of several telemarketing calls coming from the "635" exchange. We've gotten 8059, and also 8220, and 8932. They all behave the same, and it seems they are all tied to Fraternal Order of Police, or other police charity organizations. No message left, today. The other one this week, when presented with the option of leaving a message, simply said my mother's first name, then hung up. This is the police? Should be locked up for making calls like this. The bottom line, if they're not calling for "police" issues, they should *NOT* be legally allowed to put city, county, or police agencies in the caller ID information. That is fraud, geared at intimidating or tricking you into picking up the phone. Once, when I had another line put in, I got a call from one of these F.O.P. goons, just before dinner. He was calling, and asked for someone else. I said no one by that name, and told him this is a new phone number, so whoever he's calling is somewhere else. He kept trying to keep me on the line. Very forceful voice. I have never in my life yelled at a cop, but I was debating it. The funny thing is, at that time we donated to F.O.P., and he still wasn't leaving me alone. I told him we already donated for the year (we did so yearly), and he was trying to intimidate me into doing so again. I finally was forced to hang up on this pushy "retired" (they often claim they're retired officers making the calls to circumvent laws or take advantage of loopholes) cop.

Personally, the more of these calls I get, the more vocal I am *AGAINST* donating *ANY* money to police charities! If you're a cop, be respectful. You are not calling to inform someone their kid has been in a car accident, or to inquire about an altercation. So, do not identify yourself as a police officer, and do not tell the call recipient you represent the police. Charity calls are *NOT* police calls. Sooner or later, you will be prosecuted. Probably smart to cut back on your criminal behavior *BEFORE* that happens.

I keep getting calls with this exchange. I finally picked it up to see who it was. It as the Brevard sheriff's dept trying to get money. A guy named burnett.
I told him this was a cell phone. He said we know the exchange is brevard so they call them all. I told him to stop. It uses up minutes. Cell's are not free.
Very frustrating. I am contacting ATT and the FCC sicne I am on the do not call list for my cell.

I got a call from 321-635-8059 stating that they are raising money for FOP, tickets to a comedy show.  I asked how they got my cell #, he said that they are just going down numbers from 0000 to 9999.  He also stated that this is the only way for officers to raise money for their families if they fall in the line of duty and for projects for kids.

Got a call from this number and also from 635-8220 about the same thing. The guy on the other line said he was from the "faternal sherrifs" organization of some sort. I'm assuming they wanted money but hung up before any request was made.

Definitely an unsolicited bulk calling program.
