These people have been calling us for three days straight at all hours including very late at night.  Their contact information is sketchy at best and the phone number leads to an endless automated loop through which one is never able to contact anyone at all.  We have tried to leave messages requesting our  number be removed, but we have no idea if we're even reaching anyone at all.  I have filed complaints with the AG of FL and my home state, with the BBB, the donotcall.gov site and with the FTC.  This is inexcusable behavior and I suspect these people are up to no good at all.  There's something very shifty and shady about them.  I am also going to send a cease communications letter to their address with copies to the AGs of both states, the FTC, and the local Melbourne FL law enforcement.

They conduct surveys. That's all they do. Just ask to be on the DNC list. Since they don't sell anything, nothing can be done about it. Heck, people from political parties do the exact same thing and nothing can be done about them, and believe me, the stupid official campaigns are more of a pain in a** than OTR is. The legal calling time ends at 9:45 pm for surveyors(9:00 for telemarketers), so they're perfectly legal until 9:45. Sorry, but it's true. This is the last resort job, since everything else requires experience, and what 18 year old really has experience? There is absolutely nothing that can be done. I actually feel sorry for these people, having to call people who treat them lower than the ground because most of the people there are only trying to make a living. If you lived in this county, you would understand what people have to go through. And the next point is, never have I heard of them calling Florida, from Florida.

I agree with Sandy. I work here and there's nothing shady. You want shady, go to Vector or Cutco. I've been there...that is one of the biggest friggin scams I have ever seen. We conduct surveys and polls, and yes, some of them, most of them are political. But since I started working here, I've done surveys on education, smoking, infrastructure, etc. Jerks cuss me out, sure, but I definitely put them on the DNC. Why would I want to anger them further? Some people who work there, however, think it is funny to callback those people. If you start a survey and break it off halfway through, chances are you'll be called again to see if you want to do it again. Sometimes I get really polite people who will either do the survey or POLITELY ask me to put them on the DNC...I have never once recalled someone who was put on the DNC. NEVER. This is one of the only jobs anyone can get and it's not really that easy. Everything else requires experience in the county now, so if you're just now graduating high school you can't really get a better job, not even at Mcdonalds. Some of us aren't fortunate enough to live in richville where you get 800+ a month. I maybe get 500, if I'm lucky, and I have a lot of things to take care of, including bills, insurance, etc. I'm 21. This is pathetic. You really need to get a life and quit bitching about everything that is 'under your standards'. You try working there. Maybe you'd break under the pressure and see exactly what we go through.

Political Call
I actually had a wonderful experience from this company OTR. I had participated in a survey about 2 months ago, and i actually seen the same poll on MSNBC. All of the questions i had answered were on the show, and i finally got to see the end results of what i participated in. I would love to do more polls from this company. My Interviewer was extremely nice, and answered all of my questions in a timely fashion, he was well educated and well informed on the survey that he was working on.

JT u r rite. I used to work there too. I was in highschool at the time. Honestly, this is not a real job. Sometimes the days would be long, boring, and irrating. THG Im not there no more. I used to dread comingin but did it anyway. I even had a few classmates that worked their. Mostly what everyone did was talk to each other and eat all day. But what Jack says is also true. Good luck to anyone out there that chooses to try it.

Dear Jack,
Let me tell you something, since you insist on stirring up trouble and sticking your BIG nose in where it does not belong, I work for the company that you are slandering as "shady". This is the ONLY job I have been able to find here in my hometown, the town I grew up in, and now work in this tiny call center in downtown. Some of us are not as fortunate as YOU ARE. Never the less, I still do need to support my family  and myself.   I have a home, 2 kids and 1 grand child to take care of. I chose NOT to SUCK off of society and their generous contributions via the tax system, for food, medical, help ect. I also am unable to afford health insurance, of which they do offer, but due to my current situation, am unable to afford it.
Your crappy letter has upset me. This is MY LIVELY HOOD, and I can ASSURE, as an upstanding citizen, mother and grandmother, that I would NEVER work for some fly by night company, that is SHADY.
Your are an IDIOT.!!
I do things by the book. You don't want to be called, just say so, don't prick me around, by saying you are going out the door, ect, (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, because this is obviously something you do). I have had to accept BAD BEHAVIOR from the likes of YOU AND people like you - that are so called AMERICANS. It's a shame the way some people treat the phoners, our official "title". Makes me ashamed of people, Thank God for those who are respectable and treat us decently when we call. Those who are RUDE and ABUSIVE are animals. (I  bet that describes you perfectly, although I cannot prove this)
If people don't want to be a part of the polls that are seen on the television, they chose (nicely) to say so. Otherwise, quit your bitchin' about ALL THINGS POLITICAL and all those politicians and the way YOU think the government is trying to control you. You do not deserve to complain. You chose NOT to participate.
Too bad you are SOOOOO unhappy with YOURSELF, that you have to take out your frustrations on somebody you can't even see.
And, by the way, we are not ALL just teenagers, trying to exact revenge on your type. Some of us are, believe or not, just trying, trying to MAKE A LIVING.
Jerk, I mean Jack, your name and stupid phone number is NOT sold to some outside company that are telemarketers. NOBODY cares about you and your stupid self. So get real and get over yourself. YOu are not as great as you think you are. YOu are, after all, not only just an ordinary HUMAN BEING, you are the biggest kind of shame , inhumane being.
Sandy
ps two calla, really, two calls? does not "repeatedly" make. AND the phoners don't KNOW the phone number from which they called, because it is an automated dialing system, done by computer, there won't be an "available" number on your caller ID.
You are NOTHING BUT AN ALARMIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to work at OTR as well, and honestly a lot of what this guy is saying is true. While we didn't have access to much if any personal information (generally just a name, phone number, and city, if that), I was honestly surprised at just how slanted many of the political "surveys" we did were, to the point that I refused to even ask some of the nastier leading questions. It also sort of bugged me that the managers wouldn't give us much information to give respondents on who was hiring us and what purpose the survey served, which led us to improvise quite a bit in order to avoid the sometimes severe vitriol thrown at us.

However, this company isn't as shady as some would have you think. In the end, all it is really consists of is a little call center in downtown melbourne (the addresses given for OTR and GMRS are both correct) that employs a bunch of high school kids to do cold call surveys based on whoever hires them. The do-not-call issue is more a product of the interviewer who calls you. The managers trained us to put any respondent who asks onto the no-call list, which actually would take that number out of the system. Unfortunately though, sometimes the kids who made the calls though it would be funny to not only avoid the DNC list, but to schedule a callback also. Just ask for a manager to put you on the DNC, and it'll get done.

I used to work at ORT, and the information that your looking for is not told to the callers. Also the supervisors do not know the name of the company requesting the survey.  Feel free to stop by and raise hell, it wont get you anywhere,

This is "research" company that goes by the name of "OTR" or "On Track Research." They call repeatedly, even if you ask to be removed from their call lists. Typically, they engage in political surveys, often engaging in polls of dubious nature designed to create public opinion, rather than understand it.

They are a shady and suspect organization. There is a whole list of interconnected companies whose relationships are obscured by a list of different names. For example, reviewing the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations website (http://www.sunbiz.org/search.html) we find that OTR was listed as dissolved and inactive as of 09/15/2006.

A big red flag is the fact that caller ID lists them as "Unavailable." If they were a legitimate firm, they would list their company name and phone number on Caller Id. Other research firms that have contacted us have done just that.

When the telemarketer "researcher" from OTR calls, an attempt to extract information from them is met with resistance. In the two calls from this company I received this weekend, I was told that they were not allowed to give out the company phone number or address. All I was told was the company name, and that they were located in Palm Bay, Florida. When I was asked for a copy of the company's privacy and do-not-call policy, I was hung up on.

When you participate with surveys, you have no method of knowing what will be done with your personal and private information. For example, let's say you answer questions in a political survey. You do not know if as a result, your name, phone number, and address will be sold to telemarketers that will in turn, call you incessantly. They can get away with this under the guise of having done business with you before, based on your survey participation.

Fight back people! Do not accept phone calls from suspect "research" firms that skirt the do-not-call laws! Challenge the callers with direct questions, such as what is the name of the firm, their phone number, address, and most importantly, THE NAME OF THE COMPANY THAT IS PAYING THEM TO PERFORM THEIR RESEARCH!

My own research discovered that OTR is the "sister" company of "Global Marketing Research Services" according to their website: www.polling.net. Otherwise, there is no known web presence of this phantom company called On Track Research.

Here is the address of GMRS, and presumably OTR:
712 East New Haven Ave.
Melbourne, Florida 32935
Phone: 321-723-7013
Fax: 321-676-5496

There are several alternate addresses as well:

OTR also has a listing of:
809 Palmetto Ave
Melbourne, FL 32901
321-725-8886?

In the February 9, 2005 annual filing with the Florida Department of State, OTR listed its address at:
517 Bahama Drive
Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937

and a mailing address of:
P.O. Box 880
Melbourne, FL  32902

This post office box was also listed as the mailing address of GMRS in a January 16, 2008 filing.

The "current" registered agent of OTR is listed as:
Peter Bakolia
517 Bahama Drive
Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937

He is also listed as a company officer and director.

The "new" registered agent of OTR is listed as:
Anthony J. Diana
P.O. Box 880
Melbourne, FL  32902

GMRS has listed Anthony J. Diana as not only the registered agent, but the officer and director as well:
Anthony J. Diana
754 Hunan St. NE
Palm Bay, FL  32907
321-984-9055

A search for "Anthony J. Diana" in the Florida Department of State web site lists about 16 businesses, all with the same addresses as above. A search for Peter Bakolia lists 14 businesses.
