They called my mom and said the same thing wanted to give her 6,000. Ha!

I got this same call on my work phone. Was surprised the info they had. Heavy accented female.SCAM !!!

Just received a call from the same place.  Man named Steve with heavy accent.  Gave me a confirmation # and told me to call the 326-806-2951 number right away.   Yeah, right!!  How do we stop this????  I  have no intention of calling.  I have enough problems.....

I got the same call from 56-456-4321.  Gave me the same pitch.  I decided to research the number and got this website.  Your posting jumped out at me.  Did you report this scam?

This same thing just happend to me. Should I be worried that their going to hack me? I do everything on my phone :-(

I was called first by a private number and then by 56-456-4321 both of which informed me that the government has picked me for a grant that I do not have to pay back as long as I don't gamble or do any other illegal thing with the money. $6500. the first one asked me for my debit number since he reminded me, was MY choice as to whether I wanted direct deposit or check or debit.  The second one gave me this number to call for my money.  They have my complete address. Asked me my age...

I received this phone call about getting $6700.00 as a Federal Grant never have to repay it. However I first have to pay $220.00 in state Tax to receive this money. I have to Call 321-806-2951 when I have the $220 for taxes then they will release my Check.

This # has been calling me and finally someone just like Ed said above. I knew off the bat its some scam. I however stayed on the phone and listened her go  on and on and after that I told her I was I not interested and she said "why did you waste all MY time"? I just laughed and asked her NOT to call again  and she said I WILL call you back later.. I was like whatever..

Cheri, I personally wouldn't have called this clown back unless I had applied for a US Government Grant.
Please scrutinize your phone bill for next month to make sure your phone wasn't cloned.

Just received a call from this number.  Caller identified himself from US Government and said I was approved for a grant.  Male caller had a heavy foreign accent and said his name was Richard Murphy.  He indicated that I had been approved for a $6000 grant from the US Government and it was not a joke (because I laughed at him).  He said he was based in Washington, DC at 200 Independence Avenue and that I would receive a check for $6007 that I will never have to pay back.  He said I had to call his manager Jacob Black after I hung up with him and that Jacob Black could be reached at 239-247-5446 and gave me a claim number.  He had me repeat the phone number and claim number twice.   He even asked me what I would do with the money and what my marital status was. Clearly a scam.  

Heavy Foreign accent with a name of Richard Murphy was a dead giveaway.  
Free money doesn't exist.
Where he claims to be based and where he called from were different (DC vs FL).

I just let him carry on the conversation to get information.  So sorry for anyone that gets sucked into this.  

I answered my mother's cell phone today when it rang from this number.  It was a woman with a heavy accent claiming to be from the "US Government Grant Department" and that they are transferring $621 to my mother today.  I shoulda messed with her a little but didn't know if it was one of those calls that puts charges on your phone bill, so I hung up.

I got the same call yesterday. When I asked him why the government would give a grant like that when they are in so much debt already, he hung up on me. Tried to call him back but they would not answer.
