There is no Fraternal Order Of The Police in Los Angeles.

I don't know what to think about this, but oftenly I receive calls from these guys, should I report it to the real l a p d?

they called us in the evening.  I googled their name and came up with nothing.  Just other people suspicious of them.  LA FOP LODGE 1 IS A SCAM!!!LA FOP LODGE 1 IS A SCAM!!! LA FOP LODGE 1 IS A SCAM!!! LA FOP LODGE 1 IS A SCAM!!!

They call me on August 24, 2010 at 5:45 P.M. ask for me by my first name and I said yes this is her and the caller said Los Angeles county police dept is asking for your support.your not in trouble ehehe..we are calling people to see if you would like to help the police dept. I said yes ask me for my name and address and I gave that information I thought it was like one of my friends that must of given my phone so it was easy for me to given the information . I try to ask a question he kept  talking that was when I knew I was tooken for a fool.

I have change my phone number so they can't call me anymore. Now I'm worried about this plus call my local police dept. they said we can't do any thing right now. Well all I have to say if they come to my house or do anything  my next job will be to find them if that the last thing i will do in this world.

Called Thursday, August 20th at 8:52 p.m. -- my number is unlisted so this is highly suspect.  My theory is this is a fraudulent group that is using a random dialer.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the LA County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there?s information on www.cafop.org . Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for LA County police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

OK . I just phoned my 'local PD' .. she told me there is nothing they can do as there are SO many scams .. like this .. out there .. IF, she said, you want to support your local PD .. call them and ask to whom to send a check! .. Sounds good to me .. Getting information to the poor people who believe this 'scamming' is the hard part:(

not ACCORDING to Burbank PD .. SCAM .. SCAM .. SCAM and KNOCK IT OFF or I shall totally shut off my phone .. keep changing your numbers and I shall keep putting each one on BLOCK .  I GIVE ONLY to charities I want to NOT a NON CHARITY .. FOP OFF!!!

I am SO sick of this PHONY 'should be arrested' NON charity FOP calling here using different numbers . waking me up .. I am handicapped and go to sleep VERY early .. so a call at 8:45 PM MIGHT wake me up .. How do we get the FBI involved in this SCAM? .. when I first moved in here . they called . different ID .. 'leave a check outside and write 'for deposit only to Police Dept' .. for two years I did it . then Burbank PD told me SCAM .. I keep hitting reject and they keep coming up with NEW NUMBERS . the IDIOTS!

So is it LAFOP or WAFOP?  Doesn't really matter does it, any charity would be lucky to see a couple of cents on the dollar, if that, since you telemarketing crooks keep most or all of it.

the los angeles county police asking for donations.  It goes to a good cause...helping families out within the police force, keeping the public safe etc.  You can ask them what perentage is donated.  They can also send you info in the mail.

They called my cell phone and told me "don't worry your not in trouble"  
- like a veiled threat.  Not cool! I don't even live in Los Angeles.
