Why don't Verizon and other phone companies provide blocks for computer initiated National "Do Not Call List" Numbers? Making too much money to lose that illegal business?

Why doesn't the Federal Government enforce the 'Do not Call List", paid for by fining violators? It is a National Harrasment Problem!

I've had several calls from this number over the last few days.  I'm in the business of installing PBX phone systems so I understand phones and related systems inside-out.  Please know that with "digital" trunks like PRI or VoIP trunks, THE INSTALLER can deliver ANY phone number he wishes to the called party (in other words, I can call you from this type of trunk and your caller ID could say it was the White House calling!) so I knew when I tried to call the number back and it was "out of service," that the call had come from a telemarketer and that they had simply put in a random number for the appearance of legitimacy.  The last time I answered the phone from this number, it was clearly a  "predictive dialer" (where the computer keeps calling a series of numbers, and when someone answers it connects to an operator...that's why there is a brief silence before you hear a human) and when they asked for me by my first name, I asked, "Who may I say is calling?" She didn't want to tell me and finally got upset that I wasn't going to reveal information to HER, and finally said to me, "Well, I guess you aren't going to tell me if he is home or not," and hung up on me.  

Got call again on Saturday morning from this number. They always change numbers called again and again. So sick and tired of these crooked people. Same old scammer different numbers:

Caller said he was from a dryer lint cleaning service. That's a new angle!

Woman with heavy Asian accent asked for me by name. Said it was regarding an Amazon order.

I received a call from that number yesterday. I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer the phone. I figure the caller is either a scammer or phishing for information.

Rude, annoying and intrusive. Calls continuously despite requests to be taken off their list.

criminals calling to see if someone is home..make sure you let them know that you are armed.

Got another call from this number.  No ID, no message.  Just more aggravation.  

Telemarketing scum.  Find them, throw them in prison and lose the key.
This is a form of domestic terrorism; and should be punished as such.

Never, ever, do business with any company that telemarkets you.
And, yes, you can curse at them.

BTW -- If they are recording the call without your consent or knowledge, it's a federal felony.

I got a call from them today.  A guy called Orlando was calling representing a company "who was in my area" and wanted to know if my carbon monoxide detector needed checking.  Another one to be blocked.

Got the call - dead air.  Possibly, a robo call searching for "live" working phone lines.

Have blocked the number.

Crooked calling in the early morning from same scammer different number as 626-377-4328. Never pick and blocked them.

Didn't answer.  They didn't leave message.  Caller ID displayed "Los Angeles, CA"

Got a call from them this morning but didn't answer the phone.  I"m glad I didn't answer after reading these messages.

Received called at approx. 4:40 pm on Tue Jul 23 2013 from a male voice identifying himself as Ecofamily and asking for a Paula, I told him he called the wrong number (which is true as far as we have no Paula here).  He hung up.  But being curious, I google the number and sure enough, a lot of crap of on this number and when I tried calling back, just silence.  Creepy.

Blocked by Digitone device. Caller ID displayed LOS ANGELES CA and this number.

Called looking for a deceased family member. Told caller she f'n died. Caller told me not to cuss at her. I asked who the f she was and got hung up on.

This number and 818-877-5115 might be one and the same scumbags. Time to ship all telemarketing scum to the core of  the sun.

Called with some b-s sales pitch asking for the owner of the house, my husband played dumb (like these people apparently are) and said the owner wasn't home, this number and 818-877-5115 might very well be one and the same. My husband and I live within walking distance of 4 police officers just in case and I've been told my aim is very good when I go to  get rid of stress at the shooting ranges.

I have discovered that any calls with area codes 323, 310 and 818 are all in the Los Angeles area and they are all telemarketing calls either from construction companies or solar companies. So now if I'm near the phone I just answer it and immediately hang up. I figure if it's actually a legit call it would have a caller ID I would recognize. If I'm away from the phone I just ignore it.

This is a pretty good indication their predictive dialer received more answers to the computer generated calls than there were agents available to answer.  These dialers call multiple numbers at once, many more than agents available, knowing that a percentage will not be answered by a live responder in order to maximize the usage of the agents in the call centers.

someone called to see if I am home..It is just a matter of time before someone's house will be robbed by these criminals.If you do not have any guns at your home,probably its a good time to get one...you will need it...home invasion robberies are on the rise..

Got call inquiring if I needed work done inside or out. Said I was referred but didn't know by who, was "just in his system". Asked all kinds of questions like when do you work (said all different hours), then when told it was a rental, he became slightly less interested. FREAK!!
