When they say to get back to them on their private email, and they use the words kindly and item its always a scam. Theres a 505 428 9582 and 405 303 1047 brownchris848@gmail.com like the other comments on here. Ive run into this with a whole bunch of #s over the last few years. There r many many ppl doing this from other countries...i have called many of.these #s and have found that it sounds possibly from africa or jamaica etc. Always put cash in full in peeson on ur ads, which I completely forget to do.

Received a text from 405-303-1047 email address smithchris848@gmail.com saying the same things all of you are i emailed him back letting him know vehicle is still for sale and he said everything about paypal. I text him back and told him to get a life and I will be going to authorities.

My boyfriend recieved a text message wanting to buy an antique truck for parts he had listed on Craigslist. He said he couldn't make it to look at it , but was satisfied with paying the price for it $5,000. He told my boyfriend how the transaction would be done, thru paypal, to send him his paypal email. We offered to list it as a buy it now on ebay and he still agreed to buy it. He also said he was going to have someone come pick it up after he paid for it. He also said he was hard of hearing.  I didn't think this sounded right, so searched his email and phone number and found these complaints on this sight. He used the email codypeter8@gmail.com and phone number405 303 1047. I am glad I looked and sad to hear someone leads people to having hope to sell something,  and find out they may loose their a** to something like this.

That's almost exactly what he said to me too. I just replied and called him a low down good for nothing idiot of a scammer.

He texted and emailed me as well.

codypeter8@gmail.com is definitely a scammer. I have my car for sale on craigslist and this guy responded within 30 minutes of posting. I knew from the start that it was a scam when he responded. You should check out his emails, it's actually hilarious.
"ok no problem i will be paying you with my PayPal account because its safe and very secure way to make payment. If my mode of payment is accepted just send me your paypal email address,(Paypal ID) so i can pay in right away. Make sure you get back to me so that i can make the payment. I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been made, so no shipping included. And if you don't have a paypal account, you can easily go to www.paypal.com and sign up. its very easy. I await your reply asap."
I was firm on my price and I had a detailed description and told him that the pictures we a couple days old but... he still insisted on asking
"I will like to know your final price and the condition and also the recent pics.. "
"I should have come but due to my work i can't but i have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted.I want you to know that paypal is now safe and secure,just get back to me with your paypal email address so i can proceed with the payment.."

Now he is using  codypeter8@gmail.com.   Buyers beware!

Same thing happened  to  me.  This  person  wanted to  deal only with PayPal. I told him I don't do PayPal. He continued to say how safe PayPal is. He even said he was hearing impaired. This is sad and sounds like a scam! I said cash or cashiers check and haven't hear back from him.

This number keeps sending my mother txt messages about her car. not even asking for a pciture of the car. also keeps asking her to met her somewhere for paypal

Same with me, a Jeep on Craigs list. I told him to mail me cash to my PO Box in Mexico City and I would mail him the key.

Same thing as everyone else.  Guy texted asking me to reply to email.  I responded in text and he offered to send money through PayPal and send a private carrier to pick up the vehicle.  As number appears to be from LA area, I asked why he'd want to ship a high mileage '99 Sunfire from Oklahoma.  I'm not seeing how he could scam me from giving my email address, but it certainly doesn't feel right and clearly he's been trying with a BUNCH of people...

I just got a text from a Cody Brown asking me to email him to his personal email  codybrown682@gmail.com He wanted to buy a car that I posted on craigslist and he wanted my paypal account and he wanted me to reply to his personal email. That worthless piece of s...  needs to get his a** kicked.
Don't answer any text or calls or emails as it is nothing but a scam.

It is a scam. He asked to buy an iPhone I had for sale on KSL. He was asking questions that can be answered by looking at the posted pictures. The scammer said he was buying it for his wife as a surprise so it had to be done through PayPal and asked for my PayPal #. I told him his line was a known scam line and he was reported. People only need your email address to send you money via PayPal. If you give them the account information, then they can drain your bank and credit cards.

This piece of crap tried to scam me, Put an add on craigslist and he wanted to purchase the item, no questions asked about the item and only wanted to do it through paypal.

I posted a truck for sale on craigsist and this number text me wanting my paypal account to send me a payment. This is a scam.

We posted a van for sale on Craigslist, same scam, wanted our PayPal Account.  This is the second time it has happened to us.

Same thing here just seconds ago.  Guy said he had a courier service and he would send the money no problem via PayPal.  All he needed was my PayPal Id.

Posted Craigslist ad for a car, he wants to pay MORE than I am asking, and only wants to use Paypal.

i have a boat for sale and this scammer wont call wonts you to do pay pal even when i say cash only he is a scammer and a low life.

Guy texted me wanting to buy an item on craigslist I had listed for $18,000. That he had never seen or asked any questions about. Only wanted to use PayPal. The number is a google voice number. What a Real Sorry Piece Of SH$T
