NO Text on the caller ID, just the number. The guy said his company, Loan Modification Company, worked with my bank and 500 others to get me a better rate or out of trouble. When I asked him to write my phone number down so he could get it on thier "NO Call List", he hung up.

received 2 calls from this company within 5 minutes. I did not answer and they did not leave any messages.

we received this one too.  not sure if our dnc registry is still active.  heard it needs to be renewed at some point.  regardless, if someone has to resort to these methods i am not interested!  i will call THEM first!

The FCC declined to act on my complaint because (per my call to the FCC today) this is NOT a legitimate business so the FCC lacks jurisdiction over it. The FCC also says they are running a SCAM that should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. In other words, there is apparently a known problem with the "business" that is being advertised from 323-429-7557.

(I do not have Caller ID but I used Call Return to obtain the caller's number to initiate disciplinary action via the FCC.)

I just reported 323-429-7557 (per *69, Call Return) to the FCC via https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do?form_page=1088C for a Do Not Call violation. The call also violates the FCC rule that it provide the caller's phone number in the prerecorded message.

I think I reported this number previously to the FCC for a Do Not Call violation.

Their representative hung up on me the instant I asked for a phone number so I could "call back if necessary."

We are on the federal do not call list, but it doesn't seem to matter to these people.  The first time they called I told the guy we are on the federal list and he sneered at me and said "apparently not."  Screaming at him made me feel a little better.  The second time I asked what it took to get my name removed, and the girl said it would be removed in 30 days.  I told her she had one minute, not 30 days, because we are on the federal DNC list.  She started to argue with me so I got to scream at her again.  Each time they call I file a complaint with the DNC list, but so far no progress.  Time to get a police whistle, a la decades past?  I bet they'd take my name off the list if I blew that into their tender ears a few times.

I got the BS call this evening during dinner and I am suppose to be on the do not call list but these people just ignore it.  I live in Toledo Ohio   Happy  MTGE what a joke.11/10/2008

HAPPY MTGE is the caller id listing - who the hell wants to talk to Happy Mortgage - such bs.  Everyone is drowning and these guys are the damn sharks ready to eat those who are drowning!!!!

I have received several phone calls from (323)429-7557 on my work phone.  This is exteremly disruptive and needs to stop!

I agree, these companies interupt our lives and then have the never to hang up when they get my message machine.

Why would they be contacting me?

Perhaps we should start calling the company continuously until they stop thier illegal practices...  or maybe fax them long faxes until thier paper runs out...

I answered the phone becasue I was expecting a call.  At first, a computer intro was provided. then Roger got on the line.  I asked for the company name, he answered the 'Loan modification team', when I asked for the company phone number, he asked if I was intersted in refinancing my home mortgage.  I said - no I am intersted in reporting him, since my phone number is on the do not call list.  He abruptly hung up the phone.

Haven't we all seen enough of Corporate Mortgage Rip Offs via UNKNOWN caller ID's.  Congress should stop this BS.

I got a call from this number tonight, 10-21-2008, it said it was a California cell phone. (323-429-7557)
I live in Ohio.
I don't answer the phone if I don't know who is calling.
