Received the same call.  I don't think the message even said the company name.

The automated message was delivered to my voice mail and the first part was cut off.  Did anyone catch the name of the company?  It was something about digital equipment and 6 months of free HD programming with HBO and Starz for 3 months.  Press 1 to hear more.

This is clearly a bogus phone number and probably not the correct areacode.

Received a call on my cell - said I have been selected to receive digital service....I ended the call at this point  ..click.

Received a voice mail on my cell phone. The voice mail was a recording offering installation and equipment. Of course I am not going to call back. I am on the do not call list. This is an annoying call.

Call came in just now. Did not leave a message. I'm on the DO NOT CALL list also.

Came to my cellphone at 5:03pm although I am on DO  NOT CALL list. Recorded female voice said gov't is requiring "every home" to have digital equipment by June 2009.   I hung up after I realized what it was.

Received two calls on my mobile phone from this number voice mail message is offering promotional items.

Well, i did a reverse trace on TJ's site. The IP address is

and if we complain enough to their ISP (Internet service provider), I'm sure that company will file their own investigation and will shut it down.

UGH... This 323-444-5555 number calls me at least once a week. I am so tired of it. TJ, I filed a complaint and used the same message you posted. To anyone who has talked to the people at this number: when you tell them to take you off the call list, do they? I answered it once and didn't listen to the whole thing. I didn't know you could talk to an actual person. I have about 6 voicemails from them and when I call back to try to talk to someone, the number is disconnected. I just added my cell phone to the do not call registry... But I guess some people are still getting the calls. Is there anyway to make this madness stop?

Just because the Caller Id reflects a number, does not mean that is the number you are being called from.  Calling back does no good.  TJ good job on the report.  I suggest everyone do the same

The phone number may be related to a website called signal direct.  Even thought the content purports to relate to RE agents (which strangely have no geographic location listed), the phone number is the same and the website name (http://signaldirect.com/) appears related to digital TV services.

I filed the below compliant with the FTC.  The FTC telemarketing complaint form is located at https://www.donotcall.gov/Complaint/ComplaintCheck.aspx.  The more of us that file a complaint, the more likely it is that something will be done to shut down this scam.  

CONTENT OF MY FTC COMPLAINT:
I received a robocall on my mobile phone from some company claiming to sell digital TV services.  Did not answer, as I did not recognize number.  Message claimed to be selling digital TV services, but did not state name of company.  Stated that it was a government requirement.  This is the second call of this type I've received on my mobile phone in the past three weeks.  This appears to be a widespread problem - several complaints around this number on the following website:  http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-323-444-5555

Strangely, same phone number is used for what purports to be a Real Estate agent website for a group of Century 21 agents, but have a very strange website name of "signal direct", which makes it appear to be related to to the telemarketing calls despite the content of the webpage - http://signaldirect.com/.

Received a call twice this week and whoever it is never left a message. I received a call a few minutes ago and no one would answer.

I got a call just  a few minutes ago and they left a vm it cut off right at the beginning ... I dont want phone calls from any kind of telemarketing deal

I got the call. I do not answer calls from area codes I do not recognize. fro the previous posts, It sounds like a scam to me. I am on the do not call list as well.

Received call on my cell phone at night. Call was about recieving free digital service from some company and that the government is requiring everyone to have digital service and this company would help. It said press one for more information. I pressed one and told the person that I was furious that I received this call and that I am on the do not call list. I demanded my number be removed and the woman on the line said she would make sure it was.

I DO NOT WANT SALES CALLS! That is not why I am paying for phone service.

They said it was Digital Satellite Service

I pressed 1 and some foreign guy got on the phone.  I told him I wanted my number removed.  He put some foreign girl on the phone...  I told her I wanted my number removed.

She said:  What provider do you currently have?
I said:  I don't have a provider.
She said:  Who is your television carrier?
I said:  I don't have a television.
She said:  Have a good day.
I said:  Remove my number.
She said: *click*

Called my Cell phone.  did not answer.  Called back and number disconnected.  Left VM but cutoff beginning.   Sounds like trying to use Satellite or Cable to swindle you.
