Silence.
I said hello again.
This time, a male voice started giggling in a fakey way.
I just listened. it wnet on for maybe a minute, then he hung up.

No, I don't have diabetes nor do I have any family w/ it. It unfortunately is just a popular/common health issue that affects a large population of people as they age.
This is something in which CONS can take advantage of - chances are GOOD that anyone they call will have it or their elderly relatives will and they can try to rip you off.

Just called my home... no one was there... then an automated response said Goodbye. Are they fishing for info?

Picked up phone. Long Pause. Then a woman who barely spoke english asked if it was the kazoni residence. I said no. She hung up. Is she using old phonebook data?

It is a spoof phone number. The call is coming out of Florida. They telephoned me twice; once from the Florida number and once from this number. They claims to have the website www.ndausa.net. If you do a whois search on that you get www.telemed1network.com. Here is their information:

They called and got my name wrong. They wanted to know if anyone in my household had DIABETES. My answer to her was .. "None of your business". This is a SCAM ... Do not give any information to them. She sounded Asian. She spoke broken English.

Someone called from this # wanting to know if anyone has diabetes in my family. I answered the call because I have no caller ID. I got the number by *69.

They just called. She had a very thick Indian accent and it sounded like she was sitting in traffic in the middle of a monsoon. The reception was horrible. I am guessing calling from overseas and using the number to run it through.
She asked for me by name and when I asked who was calling, she said National Diabetes something or other (it broke up). When I told her she had the wrong number, she actually got attitude with me and wanted to verify the number. Then she asked for my name and I told her that frankly, that was none of her business. I told her to remove the number from the database and she hung up on me.
If you call back, it gives a message saying the call cannot be completed as dialed and hangs up.

Got a call from this number earlier today. I picked it up even though I didn't recognize the number because it said California and my husband has family there. When I picked up, the background noise on the line was extremely loud. I said "Hello" several times before someone on the other end responded "Hello???". They sounded confused, as if I had called them. That's when I hung up.

Just got a call from this #. I picked up and answered but only received a beep and then a woman's computer voice said goodbye. Strange thing is I had just logged on the internet via VPN connection. I always find it suspicious when I log in and then my phone rings. We're on to you scammers. You'll be prosecuted.
Lisa 2011-08-03 23:54:19 Unknown
Didn't leave a message
Dee 2011-08-03 19:00:58 Unknown
We've gotten calls from this number numerous times. There is never a message and when I try to call back, message is, "call cannot be completed as dialed".
Amy 2011-08-03 14:29:42 Unknown
I got the same exact thing when I answered. They did not say who they were. They actually asked for me by my first name, though. Certainly must be a scam of some sort.
Berta 2011-08-02 22:35:31 Unknown
Called and asked if anyone in my household had diabetes and when I said "no" they said have a nice day.
Sarah 2011-08-02 22:27:02 Unknown
It sounds like the call is coming from a bar. A lot of background noise and the woman barely spoke English when she finally asked for my husband, at least 45 seconds before a voice came over the answering machine. They could at least pronouce our name correctly if they are pulling a scam!
phonemac 2011-08-02 20:59:02 Unknown
I've received numerous calls from this number. When I see "LOS ANGELES CA," I just hang up. Although I live in New York, I have a phone number in LA, therefore, any calls that I receive from LA, I just hang up on.

Don't get too hung up on the actual telephone number. Nowadays, if you have a decent Internet connection, you can use VOIP to connect to some fly by night telco provider in the States. The telco is the one with the actual phone lines - it's actually a T1 or an ISDN PRI - a telco circuit that can have multiple trunks tied to just one phone number. They feed a bunch of phone numbers into an auto dialer, that is what picks up the line and places the call/ When the system detects a human on the other end, the call is connected to the next available phone rep, and that's done over the Internet via VOIP.
Our government could shut this type of thing down cold, if it really wanted to. Everyone was bitching and moaning about a few foreign people's phone calls being intercepted by NSA, but what about foreign entities that are harrassing millions of Americans each day?

STOP it!!!
You call almost daily and worst of all...you send my phone recorder crazy.
I'm on the "do not call list"...and NO...I don't have diabetes. I don't really know that's why you're calling...I'm basing my "guess" on the posts of harrassment calls.

I just got a call from this number, thought it could be a new number for my brother in L.A. but glad I decided to check it out online...was surprised to find it on this site! Now I know better than to waste any of my valuable time on it.
BDD 2011-07-29 00:15:40 Unknown
They called here today and left a message. They asked to speak to me by name, first and last. Is it normal that they would know who they are calling? Do any of you actually have diabetes or is it a shot in the dark?
Gma Linda 2011-07-28 19:41:14 Unknown
I have gotten this number twice now. I called it as well the first time, and it also said
the national diabtes what ever. I knew instantly it was a scam. I am so ticked that
older people may see Los Angelos on their phone and answer it and get reeled in.
I hope no one allows the curiousity that killed the cat to get the better of them. I have
moved from a town of 1900 people to a city, and never have I gone through the crank
calls that I have gotten here. I want to hide my phone and not hear it ring. Sad,so sad.
sky 2011-07-28 17:58:30 Unknown
Sounds exactly like the phone call I received.
She hung up as soon as I said "No" before I could tell her to take the name & number off the list
Another CON 2011-07-26 21:32:54 Unknown
Never leaves messages. Has called many times before...
This # is a landline based in Irvine, CA serving the Los Angeles area - however, I suspect it is a person being deceitful using VOIP and just using a FAKE number SPOOFING caller ID - google 'spoofing caller ID' for more info on that.
Do not give these people ANY INFORMATION, hang up the phone, do not answer a call from them.
