1-do not answer the calls that you do not recognize.
2-search on awesome websites such as this one,for the phone number and once you see the numbers here,
3-stop wasting your time with useless reports and complaints and by a good blocker.

The company is called Medical Alert, and they are based in Miami Florida. I got a call with a number from Ontario. I called it back and was told it was medical alert in Miami, and so I told them that if they ever phoned me again, I would be calling the FBI and RCMP, because they are breaking international law, harrassing us and committing fraud. I highly recommend you scream at these pricks if you can get ahold of them.

Keep getting calls from this number, listed as Los Angeles, CA.  I don't answer as I recognize it as being a telemarketer.  WHY do I bother to register w/ the Federal DO NOT CALL LIST when I keep getting these annoying calls?  WHY bother even having the Do No Call List?

no message... I get a call from this number about 2 or 3 times a week and it is quiet on the other end. Phone reads UNKNOWN NAME... Finally today I am looking it up... PRANKSTER!!!
I only answer cuz it is the same area code as my daughter's work number... then realize it's something weird.

I get a call late in the afternoon from this number, and there's a long winded recording using scare tactics to scam older folks to purchase a medic alert system. I pressed 1 to get someone on the line. I waited literally 1 minute and a half and some guy answers. He say's that he's agent 9 with Senior Medical Advisory. He then asks for my full name and address. I told the caller that, "I'm on the Do Not Call list. Why are you people calling me everyday?" The fuc*&% as^hole caller kept asking for my name and address! I told him to GFO! Stupid worthless pri^&*!!!!!

I find it so interesting that there's a lull from these calls, and then two weeks or so later, I get hit with all sorts of tele-scammers all at the same time. Typically the "lower your interest rates" bulls&*^. Do those cons all operate under the same syndicate or what?

3-6-2013 Called & hung up when answering machine came on.  323-546-7397 UNKNOWN NAME shows up on the Called ID.

I agree with you about getting a phone blocker, but you should at least first check to see whether your phone carrier offers either anonymous or selective call blocking first.  If you have a cell phone, the carrier's service is preferable if the call blocking software blocks the call in such a manner that you still get charged for the call.

For example, if the blocking software actually answers the call and immediately hangs up (as some do or did), you may find yourself paying for a minute of airtime every time a call is blocked.  So it's worth researching your alternatives before deciding what to do.

As far as the FCC being worthless, caller ID is easily spoofed these days, and anyone with an Internet connection anywhere in the world can get what appears to be a number located right next to you, in your own area code.  See "Area Codes, Now Divorced from their Areas," by Ian Urbina, The New York Times, October 1, 2004, http://www.nytimes.com/2004/10/01/nyregion/01code.html?_r=0

So should you report the number to the FCC?  Yes, because if there are enough reports, they might think it is worth the expense to investigate.  (Provided, of course, that all their funds for doing so are not part of the latest "sequester" fiasco.) Whether or not they investigate, some method of blocking calls on your phone is still a good suggestion.

FCC wont do anything..buy a phone blocker..they call once they go on the list...did I mention that FCC is useless.

Called me many times within a week, time wasting.  I never answer unfamiliar phone numbers. Some of telemarketer even left voice mails!

Sick of these calls every evening.  I'm on DNC list but that's a joke.  Nobody seems to care that these bozos keep harassing us.

Just received the same type of call regarding a medical alert button. THE PEOPLE BEHIND THESE CALLS SHOULD BE ARRESTED AND THEY'RE SCAM SHUT DOWN. Why isn't anything done about the crooks that run Senior Medical Advisory -- if that's even a real name? Outrageous!!!!

You can block them or ask the telco to do it for you.
