just got the same text peter johnson buying car for cousin wants paypal info scam

First time selling a car on craigslist. Again buying a car for his cousin. Only texting because of a health condition , unable to speak loud. He would have a mover pick it up. We said that it was a cash deal, he countered with paypal. We said we would have to set up an account. He responded that he would need our email and full name. Feeling uncomfortable we checked this number online and here we are. Thanks everyone.

Yea I just not got a message from this number while im trying to sell my car it sounded fishy he is saying he wants the car for his cousin. Im glad i looked up the number to see its a bunch of bull I told him cash only and nothing back haha what a joke!!

We got text from this number as we were selling our boat on craigslist. They went to yhe extreme of actually sending the payment through Paypal "so they say", but the email that came and an agent name at the bottom for western union and where the $ would be sent. Obviously we are not stupid, so I called Paypal customer service from within my account and they explained it was a complete scam and had me forward the emails to spoof@paypal.com. Also the email was asking for an "agent fee" please know if you are a new paypal user there si never an agent fee and you dont have to do anything to receive payments the account will handle it all!
If you ever get texts from this number it is a major scam and they are relentless, this is the second time a 323 area code has text us about our for sale items.
I am angry and feel like something should be done.
They used the name of Kester Donald.

I've had the same number contact me, but this time her son lives in Wyoming.

Alice Greenwell from alabama a reservist texted me from this ph#  asking me to setup a pay pall acount and her shipper would ship my vehicle posted on craigslist as a surprize to her son in wyoming.

I got a text from this number after not taking 3 calls that came up "Restricted". I got the same b.s. story about wanting to buy the car for son in Poland. Do these people think we are idiots? Is it any wonder that we are all leary about callers when selling something on Craigslist?

they text from this number to try to scam us from a craigslist add, Said she was Alice Greenwallt in the army reserves trying to buy something for her son in Warsaw Poland. Wanted to see if I would fall for paypal scam. Just want to give everyone a heads up on this one. Looks like they have done this alot using all kinds of names.
