I called it back.  First of all, if you're using a landline, and you just dial the number without a "1" in the front for a long distance call, the Seattle area phone service will truncate it, so you're actually dialing (206) 323-6340    .... the 870 gets dropped as irrelevant, and you get some poor guy who's really tired of getting these calls.  He's a nice guy, so stop calling him.

If you call it on a cell phone (which doesn't require a "1" or if you put the 1 in front of the number, you get "Donor Services" calling on behalf of the Seattle Art Museum.

The reason it's an LA area number is that's the location of the company SAM hired to solicit donations.

It's legit, and somewhat annoying.

I just got a call from this # for SAM membership renewal.  Does anyone know if it is legit?  Or a scam?

FYI to all of you. You can call the Membership # at SAM and ask to be removed. Call 206 654 3210 and ask for Ella. I think if enough of us call, they will get the message :))

been getting annoying calls every day from this number for several weeks. As with everyone else, there is no voicemail message. I don't think it's the Seattle Art Museum as Seattle is not in L.A. and if you were to answer the phone they would say who they are and ask for the donation. Would love to see the perpetrator get a little karma. wouldn't it be lovely it we could reverse the trend with literal non-stop calls to the person who set up this number?

Also from Seattle.  Interesting.  I let my SAM membership expire; could be them, don't know.  Goodness knows I get mailings from them.

this is from the SAM Seattle Art Museum.  It is an outsourced call.  I answered it and they were asking for money.  Ask to be put on the do not call list.  They got the number from past and present SAM members.

Has called once a day for several weeks now. I'm on the DNCL, but finally decided to pick up the phone to make the calls stop in person. No one was there. Very intrusive to keep getting these calls. Good luck everyone. This is a weird one...

So, I called the number. The voicemail said: This is the voicemail of Willie Dunn at Catholic Community Services. I'm not available right now...blah, blah, blah." (?!?!) I don't know this person or why might be calling me, but these robocalls totally suck. >:-[

I get this call frequently. They never leave  a message. I thought it was Seattle Art Museum (SAM) but when would they call from L.A.? unless they've "outsourced" they promotional calls.

I've been getting a call once every day for two weeks from this number.  Whenever I answer there is no sound there.  Need to research how to block a this number...

Got a call today just after noon, did not pick up, they did not leave a message. I live in Seattle area.

Get calls from this number several times a week and never leave a message either. Any ideas as to what/who this is?  Legal action may need to be taken.

They called me on Friday and Saturday, no message.  I live in Seattle, but the number seems to be from the Los Angeles area.

Been getting calls about every other day but they never leave a message.  The call shows up as Los Angeles, CA.

This number was accompaned by the initials SAM.  There is a local entity (Seattle Art Museum) which uses that acronym, but I have no idea why they would be calling from a 323 area code (certainly not anywere in Washington State).

How can I stop getting calls from this # every day. I am on the no-caller list?
