Babysitting scam. They send you a check (Dave and Faith Winterspoon), and want you to deposit it. Please don't, just shred it and don't speak with them again.

Sorry to hear your wife was stressed.  In general, guys like that are cowards, and the last thing they want is a confrontation where there is a chance they will get identified, arrested, whatever.  While caution is always best, I think it pretty unlikely he would show up.

I wish you the best in getting this guy a chance to explain his activities in the proper venue.

I've just been texting him back calling him out on it. Do not cash the check. It would be the biggest mistake. Take the check to a local Chase bank and allow them to make a copy to send to their fraud department, then send a complaint to the FBI.

Please don't give up, a can track him via the checks, phone, post office, and his payments on postage. Even if its all fake they can track him and will. Keep filling the complaints on those two sites also contact the attorney general, they are gracious and helpful, local and state police aren't helpful until he threatens to show up at your door. Dave gets upset easily, so he us likely to tell you that if you say you won't cash the check.

Thanks for the info. As for the high ground, agreed, no need to get in the dirt with this "bad actor." After his coment about showing up at my house my wife was very upset and I'm now committed to doing all I can to try to get him busted!

Just a general observation, but with an eye toward the bad actor.  It was unfortunate that both sides engaged in this way.  Good guys should never give up the high ground.

AUP/TOS = Acceptable Use Policy/Terms of Service

Since sites and providers tend to use one or the other of these phrases to refer to their policies, AUP/TOS is just a shorthand way of referring to either.

Thank you for filing witht the two sites, they seem helpful and the atorney general is really great!! This guy will get what he deserves when we face judgement, I will be in complete Joy and wont even care. It is not our job to take revenge, but if I can stop him from another crime that is my goal.

I received a check from this creep too. Luckily I had already seen this website and knew not to deposit it. It was sent from a Luis Megan at 101 S Jefferson Ave Cookeville, TN His name is not even on the check. I have filed a complaint at the two sites to mentioned and also with the FBI. I hope everyone will do the same so this guy can get what he deserves and not harm any more people.

The address this idiot uses is 11313 P street, Omaha NE, 68137. DO NOT DEPOSIT the checks he sends. This address is the old CENTRA-TEK address. I contacted the old owner, and he will be terminating the post office address and filing with the inspection agency tomorrow morning. Keeping you all updated. HOPEFULL THIS DAVE PIECE SEES THIS... Like I said you messed with the wrong person. Run little cockroach run.... you cant hide from the light forever.... HAHAHAHAHHA!!!

If we really care to get this guy taken care of, please file a complaint with the Federal Trade Comission! DONT BE LAZY!!!! GET THIS DONE!!! Im so sorry that we have been taken advantage of by some insignificant slime ball who needed one more hug as a child... but DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW! It not too late... here is the sites Ive filed with.

I'm so glad I looked this up this morning. This guy is TERRIBLE. I am not upset at the fact it was a scam, I deserved that for being stupid enough to reply to an ad on Craigslist. What really has me upset, is his story line, the one he used with me at least. I do not take kindly to people using children and special needs as a way of scam. Completely flabergasted at this approach. Whoever this a***ole is, the check you sent me was sent to the fraud department, and I am doing whatever it takes to get you back. Come to my house, I DARE YOU. Just remember in Texas, we greet b*****ds like you with a shotgun in the face.

Definitely a scam. If there is anything I can do to get this scanner behind bars I'm trying. What a freak, I sure learned my lesson. I'm just grateful that I didn't give him much information. Can anyone tell me what he can do with a name, number, email, and picture.....? I got as far as him sending me the check and decided something want right it was for $2460.00 Way Way too much money, to send to someone you have never called. Thank goodness for this post!!!!

To the strutting combatants:

Word to the unwise - you are neither invisible nor anonymous on this forum.  Threats are not only a violation of the site's AUP/TOS, they are potentially a criminal matter.  If issued, a subpoena from law enforcement will ultimately result in the revelation of who and where you are.

Just so you don't complain that no one told you.

First question i would ask,if he stole Anthony's routing number, how did he do that? and also i  have been investigating this and found out that its not him,its his manager who has been running on this guy and wasting his time, making him believe he has a job else where,as i tried to find out from him about his new job and why he is moving with the family. maybe some information can help.
