Call came up as a "Vonage Holdings" Said his name was "Timothy" said he was with a medical magazine subscription service. Apparently he has been sending these magazines to our place of work and wanted to verify the address and employees. How about no. I told him that we have not been getting these and that we werent interested and hung up.

I called them back from a different number. I got Byrant and Straton college. I asked to be removed on another number and the woman on the phone was happy to do that for me. No calls since.

They are calling to raise funds for police - however they Re raising money for themselves.  Ask this question the next time they call...How much of my donation would go to the organization and how much is considered administrative fees?  The answer is the keep 95 cents and 5 cents of every dollar goes to the organization.

I called them back as they call at least 2x a day and I do have friends in Kent, OH.  It is some type of a home security place. If you listen it gives you an option at the end, I believe "7" to be added to their Do Not Call list.  I opted it. Just hope they do stop.

Someone called from that number and proceeded to use rude and profane language.  Completely creepy!

Phone rang. Caller ID just showed Kent OH. I answered right away, and amongst the background noise I heard the caller say "s***", and then hang up.

Just got a call from this number from a very foreign speaking man who could not pronounce my name to save his life.  When I asked who was calling he hung up on me.  I can only assume that this is yet another scam and cant help but wonder if he's not part of the most recent scam call that I received about 1 month ago.  It was a recording to lower your interest rates and when I pushed the option to speak with an operator I was connected to a foreign speaking man that went by "David".  I very politely ask that he remove my number from their calling list and he then proceeded to ask me to get on skype with him first so he could see what I look like before he could decide to help me or not.  I told him that I dont think he understood what I requested (to be taken off the call list) and then he started saying very dirty, rude comments and calling me names.  I told him that I was reporting his number and hung up on him.  My husband tried to call that number back and it just rang busy the several different times he tried.  I am really fed up with all these low-life losers that are trying to scam people's personal info from them.  How the heck to they get my number??!  I though the DO NOT CALL list was suppose to protect us from this kind of crap!

Called my 80 yr old mother and have been calling them for years.  They say they are 'Cops for Kids'.  A few yrs ago, they had her agree to giving a donation and told her to put it into an envelope and tape it to her front door.  They would send someone over to pick it up.  They are after more money from her again.

My advice is to call the Ohio Attorney General's Office and file a complaint with them.  Gather as much info as possible- eg, what they are asking you to do, etc.

Caller ID read Kent, Ohio. Caller claimed to be a police charity seeking funds to purchase teddy bears for children. Told them we couldn't help.

I received call ... no one answered when I called back.  

FYI - I spent a short time as a telemarketer for non-profits.  First, political/charitable organizations are usually exempt from the Do Not Call list; Second, the reason they don't take "no" for an answer (no matter what the reason) is that they are monitored and they will be chastized, sent home or fired for not making at least 2 or 3 efforts to get $.  (I quit after being punished for refusing to harass a confused senior citizen for his social security money.)

Please Dont be stupid ... Usually Police oriented entities hire a reputable company to solicit etc. At least one that you can call back or BBB check.

Got a call from 330-474-6033  Sept,1,2011. I informed them I was in a rush getting ready for work. They said they would be brief. He was calling for some State Troop or Police charity. Told him time were rough & I couldn't  send anything but NOOOOOOOOOOO he kept at it. Finally I agree to $7.00 when the paper work arrived. Usually I screen my calls even with Caller ID but thought it might be the Dr's office calling. Wish I never answered. Going to look into to this more before I waste $7.00. If it is for real, it is a cause.

I believe if it is a charity, they are exempt from the do not call list.

Collecting for Ohio State Troopers, wanted minimum commitment of $10.  Told him to send paperwork and I'll check it out.
If it's legit, then it's a great cause, imho.

If it doesn't ring true, then I'll just give locally like I have been (fill the boot, coats for kids, shop with a cop, etc.)

When I answered the phone a voice said "I'll talk to you however I want, What are you going to do about it?" then hung up before I could respond.

Has called numerous times and they hang up soon as answering machine picks up..trying to call the number only gets a few rings then silence...

This number called our house.  Tried calling it back and it was busy.  Is there a scam associated with this number???

Got it on my ID....I wasn't home. It Showed Kent,Ohio.
I no nobody there, so it's a nuisance call.
I am adding it to my blocked call list.
How can this go on ?.....the do-not call list is a joke.

Received a call from this number today, and asked who and where they were calling from, and before I could say anything else, they hung up.

1st call today, 7/13/11 from this number...I didn't answer.

Just received 1st call today, 7/12/11. Caller ID displayed it from Kent, OH and the number. We screen our calls, even though we know people in Kent, OH. Typed it in web search, and found 'b tarr's' comment. May or may not answer next time, but if we do, will demand we're taken off their list and let them know they have been reported to the FCC, not just the do-not-call list. Thanks b tarr

Someone from this number has called my home at least three times. It is a woman named Kimberly and she asks to speak to my husband. The first time I said he was not home (he wasn't), and she said "I will call again" and hung up. Today (7/10/11) she called again, I said he was not home (he was) and she said "I will call..." and that was as far as I let her get, before I interrupted and asked from what company she was calling. She replied, "His local charity" and hung up.  When she calls again I will tell  her not to call again and if she persists, as I know this is a landline, I will contact the FCC.
