I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THOMAS LAWSON, STATING THAT I OWED 833.66 FOR A CHECK I WROTE BACK IN 2008, WHICH I DID SO I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS FOR REAL. UNTIL I APPLIED FOR A JOB WITH THE COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I STILL OWE THEM. SO WHEN I CALLED THE 330-777-4227 NUMBER THERE WAS NO ANSWER AND I KNEW THEN THAT IT WAS A SCAM. I AM A SINGLE PARENT AND I NEED THAT MONEY BACK SO I CAN PAY THE BILL FOR REAL.

I GOT A CALL FROM THOMAS LAWSON ON SEPTEMBER 28, STATING THAT I HAD A BAD CHECK AND THAT I HAD TO PAY IT BY THE END OF THE BUSINESS DAY, SO I CALLED MY FATHER AND WE PAID THE AMOUNT OF 833.66 I DIDN'T KNOW THAT IT WAS FAKE. SO WHEN I APPLIED FOR THE COMPANY THAT I THOUGHT I PAID THEY TOLD ME I STILL OWE THEM, SO WHEN I CALLED THE 330-777-4227 NUMBER BACK THERE IS NO ANSWER. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT DO I GOT TO DO TO TRY AND GET MY MONEY BACK, SUE THEM AND PROSICUTE THEM.

I also received a call from Thomas Lawson a couple of days ago threatening me with charges saying I had forged a check or worthless instrument. He demanded that payment of at least 50% be made that day by noon or he was going to forward this to my local jurisdiction and have me "put in the system". The number he called from was different it was 832-377-3051. I contacted my attorney immediatley who directed me to call the AG office consumer protection and they sent me to the department of finance that regulates the laws and provisions for collection agencies. I was then directed to file a formal complaint to the department of finance, which I did and that complaint gets forwarded to the FTC for further review. Thomas Lawson called me back later that day to see how I was coming with getting the funds together and I informed him that what he had done was illegal and that I had contacted the Attorney General's office. At that point he became even more aggresive and asked where I was at so he could contact the local authorities and send them out to "bring me in", just to show me this is not a game, and then he hung up. They are having a hard time tracking these people down and it is now believed that they are calling from out of the country. I tried to ask the company name on several occasions to no avail he just kept saying "I am with the fraud and worthless check division." When these clowns call get as much information from them as you can and then hang up. Do not answer any questions. We all need to be contacting our local Attorney General's office to get this non-sense to stop.

Back again, I did my home work, The name of this Company is Anderson & Associates.  They are a debt collection agency located in Ohio.  They have several complaints against them already, and based on the information I gathered, you may be able to sue them.  I called the Attorney Generals Office in Ohio, and they can give you a lot more detailed information.  1-888-318-7688 (Ohio Attorney General) Wait on the line, and someone will help you.  Make sure you give them the number they called from, and be very specific as to what they said.  Esp how they introduced themselves.  It is illegal to pretend to be any form of law enforcement in that manner.  They could be fined, shut down, or if enough of us compalin, they may get jail time.  Lets go to work family and stop being treated badly because were doing badly.

They act as if their offical law enforcement, when they are not.  Who ever this is can get in a lot of trouble for pretending to be law enforcement.  It is illegal.  Further more, give this number to your States Attorney General, and they can and will be shut down.

This Lawson guy contacted my wife about an NSF check for some guy we have never heard of.  When she ask him about how he got our number, he told her that was none of her business.  I called him back and ask him, who the hell he thought he was for speaking to my wife like that and that if he wanted some money to drive down to Louisiana, come get your money and an a** whipin.  He then says that he is an attorney and that he will start proceedings against me for an NSF check that a Tony Prior wrote. We have no idea who Tony Prior is.  I did some checking and the number only comes back to Ackron, Ohio.  I contacted a few of my buddies at Ohio State Police and the Attorney General's Office.  They are looking into this Thomas Lawson fellow and hope we can all meet one day and have a cup of coffee.  I bet anything he is not as tuff as he thinks he is.

This Thomas Lawson never once claimed to ever be an attorney at all. I feel like he is a debt collection agency at best. Told me I had till 3:00 p.m. on 11/8/11 to pay $797.00 or I would be facing criminal charges if payment wasn't made by his deadline. Talked to an attorney's office and they indicated to me that my name wasn't on any dockets that they could find in the county where the check fraud charge was supposedly filed. Sounds all pretty fishy to me.

Thomas Lawson called our home.. after my hubby for a check he supposedly  wrote to one of the check cashing places they have.. told him he had until 3 today to pay $797 or else he would face criminal charges...  as we both said.. most places will make payment arrangements with you.. not this guy.. wanted paid in full.. by 3 today.. or else. Doesn't sound legit to me....

I just got a message from Thomas Lawson with the fraud and worthless check division looking for my daughter.  He stated she was a known affiliate of someone that none of us know at all!  The number they called from was 330-777-4227.  The caller ID did show Patricia Degre. However, the person they "said" they were looking for had the same name as a person that collections agencies were calling here fior about 6-8 months ago.  This person is unknown to us and those calls stopped after I let them know they had obviously been given a wrong number.  Funny how it just so happens "Thomas Lawson"  picked up that name!  That made me very suspicious and I started researching.  How in the world can people get away with this?!?!?!?  I am so glad these blogs were out here to warn us.  
Be warned......it's looks like they are moving numbers quite a bit.
And there is back ground noise like a call center of some sort.

I received a call from this not so smart guy this evening also. He left a message on my answering machine saying that the person he thought he was calling is affiliated with a person of interest involving fraud and checks.This person is also supposed to call him back as soon as possible. He doesn't really know who he is calling. There are several people  with the same names, everywhere !And the end of his call said "good luck", lol ! I guess he hasn't learned enough about the law to know this is not how it works. If a person is in trouble or could be in trouble, you don't get phone calls like this ! When I called the number back, his voice   answers, saying you have reached a prosecutor and that they are not available now. Not how it works. Not in the USA anyway !

This rude a***ole Thomas Lawson calls my number and when I say I know nothing of this or the person mentioned he gets rude with me and I go off.

With this many complaints - the police should be able to catch this person and arrest them....Some poor older person or a young naive person will fall for this b***s***.

I got a call from this rude a***ole yesterday - when I called him back I called him on his b***s*** and he said it no longer concerns me.  

Hi initial voicemail was me being tied to fraud....I have a security clearance and of course was immediately worried - can not have anything false be reported.......scammers like this need to be stopped.

Keep getting calls from Thomas Lawson 330-777-4227 saying he is with the check fraud division and for me or my lawyer to contact him, cover yourself and good luck.

I received a call on Friday, September 16th saying that he was trying to reach my ex-husband of 13 years and my name had been affiliated with his on check fraud.  I WENT OFF!  I called back that day when I got home from work.  Of course, they were closed.  I just talked to him this morning and he asked me if I had any contact with my ex.  And I said not if I can help it.  But, I told him I did have his cell phone # and gave it to him.  He said he would take my number off the list.  Hallelujah.  Now my ex can deal with whatever this mess is.

Thomas Lawson calls on 9-8-11 tells me to cover yourself according and good luck. Call no. back tell him to remove my no. and he gets smart with me and hangs up. Told him  didnot know person he is looking for, and to remove my no. hangs up again.

Thomas Lawson...keeps calling and harassing me and I am not even the person he needs....I am very ill and he is harassing me....Gonna put harrasment charges on him!

He keeps calling my phone about a loan from quick cash. He says tnat I'm check fraud even tbough I told him I paid this debt, he claims the police will come.and arrest me. I even told him I filed.bankruptcy and he is still harrashing me. He needs to be stoppef.

It is the great Thomas Watson scam collecting services, he is with the check fraud division.
