that happened to us today! Yesterday, we got a call from my "cousin" and they only wished to speak to my mom, that he trust her more. He was in Tijuana, and that he would be here the next day and asked if he can come to our house. At first, my mom did not recognize the voice and the guy said "how can you forget me already! its me tia, its gera" i have a cousin by the name of that, and my mom was like ohhh. (he is from my dad side.)
Today, they called and said they were in an accident and needed $700 wired in the name of the person who's car they hit. My mom then gave the phone to my dad. He knew it wasn't him, and he called my dad cousin. He is his uncle. So my dad went along. And then he called to Mexico to find out if he really leave to come to USA. And it turns out he was at home and never came.
So when the guy called again, asking for money, my dad gave him a fake pin number and called him a liar.

So yeah, watch out for these! not real! scams!!!!!

Got a call from this number saying he was my nephew and stated " I cannot believe how fast you forget about family' after I told him I didn't know who he was, he hung up.  They knew my name. I am a little worried.  Do not give any personal information over the phone.
