RECEIVED CALL IN FEBURARY FROM LSU, LLC MR. THOMAS BATTLE WHO STATED THAT I  WOULD BE CHARGED WITH 2 COUNTS OF FRAUD AND THAT THEY WOULD BE SERVING THE DOCUMENTS AT  MY JOB OR HOME.  THE CALL WAS RECEIVED FROM 2562131664 AND ALSO 301 500 2020.  THEY CALLED MY PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS NUMBER LEAVING THREATENING MESSAGE.  THEY SAID THE ACCOUNT NUMBER WAS L34279. THEN 3 MONTHS LATER CALLED AGAIN BUT STATED THAT I OWED A DIFFERENT COMPANY AND USED THE SAME ACCOUNT NUMBER L34279, SO HOW COULD I OWE 2 DIFFERENT COMPANIES BUT WITH THE SAME ACCOUNT NUMBER AND IT WAS FOR A LOAN THAT I PAID OFF 2 YEARS AGO.  EVENTUALLY THEY STOPPED CALLING BUT THE SECOND TIME THEY CALLED THEY STATED THAT THEIR NAME WAS CORNELL AND ASSOCIATES.

They told me that they were filing 2 charges for fraud against my social security number. They said this was my last chance. They now want an address to serve me papers. I contacted a lawyer and he checked into it and also thinks it is a scam. He told me not to contact them and if i heard anything else then save all of the recorded messages.

OOOOH!I'm scared.They are threatening me with serving a summons and jail time.Summons are only served in civil matters and for witness appearances.If I was guilty of a criminal offense they would have come and got me already.I guarantee that this is a spoofed or stolen number and they are phishing for info for a bill collector or they are identity thieves....efff um!

Just had the call from a person using the phone number above.
First computer generated voice stating my name, then a female stating she was from "Process of Summons" Division.  She then stated I have 2 charges filed against me for fraudulent activity associated with my SSN.  I am supposed to call them with a case # they provided (compter generated voice) to their "legal department".  they threatened that If I did not call them, the summons would be sent to me at my work or home - at that time it would be too late to use their legal department.  How bad is it that I confirmed the last four of my ss#

I tried calling them back at this number just to see what they wanted and I got a wrong number message all three times. That is never a good sign of legitimacy.

I asked them to snail-mail validation copies of all documents for an attorney to look over and they refused! They said they were "a Green Office," and would only send me an e-mail. I told them i wasn't going to give them my e-mail address and that refusing to mail me documents made me doubt their accusations. Hung up on me! One lady Representative was yelling at me as i was answering her question. She only spoke when i was speaking. I dare them to take me to court!! I'll fight them!! They might speak loudly, but it doesnt make them valid!!

Thank you for your post!  I too have these boobs calling me.  I was concerned at first and even pulled my credit report.  Of course nothing was there. When I talked to the guy he said that I was guilty until I can prove that this is not my account but I must send money before they serve me to appear in court.  LOL, I simply told him that he was an idiot and he hung up on me.

256-213-1664  left a message on my cellphone's voicemail and said her name is Dana Fisher from the Process and Summons Division and she told me that I have 2 fraud charges against me in my county that is linked to my social security number. If you download an app for your cellphone that blocks this number, I would do so before she annoys you to no end. My caller ID reported this call to be from Alabama.

They call me at work every day, several times a day from this number and a couple of others, but it's always the same message.  They're calling from the process and summons division.  They're going to serve me papers at my home or place of business.  This is my final notice, blah, blah, blah.  The few times I have actually called the number back, and spoken to a human (and I use that term loosely), and told them to send me whatever it is they are calling about in writing as proof that they own whatever debt it is they say they're collecting on, the calls stop.  A week or so later, they start again, from another collection company.  They assume that I'll (or whoever) will get tired of the calls and just give them money to stop calling.

Per the FDCPA, you should NOT pay any caller who refuses to MAIL a debt validation letter showing you owe a debt and that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Refusal to mail this documentation is a violation of the FDCPA.  In fact, your callers have only five days from the date of their first call to mail this to you.  Do not accept email or fax.  More info here:

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

You can report them to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  Like all scammers, they'll probably keep calling back until they realize they're not going to get anything from you.

Same here been getting this call for the past 2 weeks. Same scenario as yours. Next step FBI already reported to local PD, Sheriffs Dept, Attorney General, my attorney. Saved all calls, voice messages as well.
Scam artists who won't talk with attorney, gave them local PD and Sheriffs Department numbers telling them, local law enforcement wants to talk with them and they hang up.
