Same here, I just got a long distance phone call under 1-331-080-3835. The guy on the phone acted if he new me and that he was on his way to the airport and if I could go and pick him up. He also said he will call back to confirm the arrival time. Few minutes past and a phone call from the same guy named David, telling me he was detained by immigration police because he did not declared a 26,0000 and the authorities were to take the money away. He said he found a lawyer there to help him with his issues and asked me to speak to the lawyer. The lawyer went and about telling me that in order to help this guy ( who supposedly was a friend of the family), I had to send 3,500 dollars via money gram to this address: Envio Liderado en minutos, Elizabeth Gonzales Castellanos, Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico.
Thank God, I did not fall into the trap. I asked the guy I wanted to speak to my "friend" and he refused it, then from there I knew something fishy was cooking. BE AWARE PEOPLE. Conversation was of course in spanish.

I've got calls from this number a few times. The person who calls says I'm his aunt, I don't even known who the dude is. I've told him to stop calling a few times but he hasn't stopped. Be careful with these people they are scammers.

I got a phone call from this people, first my "nephew"saying that he was in Mexico city, coming from Guatemala to Toronto. and he wanted me to pick him up from the airport. When I asked what time was he arriving, he said will call me back soon after he check in his luggage to board the plane to Toronto. Later he called me back and asked how much money he could bring to Toronto, I said for one month you could survive with $500.00 if not paying hostel. He told me he had $25,000.00 on his carry on luggage and were confiscated for not declaring at customs, then he passed me to his legal advisor at the airport who also told me the same story and if I send by MoneyGram or Western Union $3,500.00 they will fix the paper work and release him. I told them to send him back cause I had no money at all. They insisted 2 more times in calling me, I said, sorry I can't help at all.
Where can I report these numbers? The police has to intervene this is very risky.

este idiota me llamó hace 10 minutos y me dijo que ya estaba en el aeropuerto y que venia a visitarme. De inmediato supe que era una trampa porque le dije que si era Federico el hijo de la tia Tulia, y me dijo que si. Yo no conozco a nadie llamado Federico y no tengo ninguna tia de nombre Tulia, asi que le colgué el telefono.

We just received a call from this number it is a Scam they tried tricking a family member speaking in spanish.  I am about to report them to the police

Just got a call from this number. I hung up as soon as he said: 'dont you remember me, guess which one of your cousins who live outside canada'' (in Spanish)

Someone trying to get a lot of information and money has called my number in the same way described in the first post. I hope this people get caught!

Acabo de recibir una llamada identica a lo que se describe en este mensaje.  Por favor estar muy alertas estos delincuentes estan tratando de asaltar a alguien y puede ser victima de un delito.  Estoy dando parte a las autoridades para que investiguen este hecho y para prevenir otras personas caigan en una trampa.

did he ever called back, it just happened to me. and honestly i am kinda scared cause, they seem to have a lot of information. especially in this day and age its so easy to get someones address and name etc..

This number just called my house, asking me to guess who he was (he was speaking spanish), and i told him i didnt recognize his voice, so he told ''dont you remember me, guess which one of your cousin lives outside canada'' etc and this went on for a minute or so then i gave him a name and he was like yea its me and he started telling me how hed been trying to reach us for 4 days to tell us that hed be coming to visit, that he had to do a connection in mexico cause he didnt find an direct flight to where we are etc. then he told me he'd call back cause he had been called to check luggage or whatever. He then called back saying they found 25 000$ in his carry-on that he wasnt allowd to bring it with him and so he had a lawyer and he even asked me if i wanted to speak to him so then i knew something was defenitly up so i asked where he wasplanning on staying here and if he was alone and why would he jyst decide to visit out of nowhere with 25 000$ (which is A LOT of money to have in the country that im from) and that when i told i didnt actually have a cousin in the city he told me and he hung up. and now im scared shitless..mind you i am usually the one telling people this and that sounds like a scam but this one was definitly done by people who do this regularly so be EXTREMELY CAREFUL, DO NOT give any information away, I made the error to mention my name at first which he clearly remembered when he called back i guess to make it sound more real.. one thing that did kind of gave it away aside from the obvious one, was his accent. he had a mexican accent not so noticable but if you speak spanish and are familiar with most spanish accent youd know right away if he is actually from the country he claims to be from. I guess this could work in his favor if the poeple he was callng were mexican but im not. anyway this guys a jerk.

Hi, I just received the same call about one hour ago. He was speaking in Spanish. I have family from Costa Rica, so I asked "From Costa Rica ?" and he said yes, your cousin Guillermo from Costa Rica.
He knew my entire name, he probably looked in the yellow pages.
The guy said he was my cousin, that he was in Mexico and coming to Montreal and asked me to take him at the airport. He said that his luggage was confiscated at the airport and has lost an enveloppe containing 25 000$ and he needed money from me.
Be careful, do not send any money to this a***ole.

Un gars disant être mon cousin du Costa Rica m'a appelée il y a moins d'une heure, il parlait en espagnol. Il avait besoin que j'aille le chercher à Montréal et que je lui apporte de l'argent. Il disait avoir tenté de joindre mes parents, ce qui était faux.

Quand ma mère lui a demandé de donner son nom en entier, il a donné le prénom "Guillermo" ainsi que notre nom de famille (qu'il avait assurément vu dans les pages jaunes). Mais ensuite ma mère lui a demandé son deuxième nom de famille, et le gars a raccroché.
C'est un criss de crosseur, ne perdez pas votre temps avec lui et surtout ne lui envoyez pas d'argent !!!

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. If your "family" is calling you and not identifying themselves immediately do not answer. Do not answer the questions he asks at all. He will make you give up information. Thankfully we knew this time around and my dad immediately got on the phone and scolded him and hung up on him. Please report this number. We must find these people.

My aunt in Florida got a call from this number the guy told her that it was her nephew that just had a car accident and that he needed money to pay the other guy. My aunt gave my cell phone number so that they could call me and speak to me and when the guy call I answer and realize it was a lie because the sound of the voice didn't sound nothing like my cousin. Don't share any kind if information with this people.

This guy called my dad and said he was family. He asked my dad to guess who he was, telling him to say what state he had family in and who it might be. He said he was my dad's cousin, but my dad had doubts. My dad didn't recognize the voice, and I wasn't so fooled either. Unfortunately, my dad gave the guy his cell number... Let's just hope he doesn't call.

Got a few calls from this number. Some guy calling me 'tia,' telling me to guess who it is. It's my husband's family that is Latino, so I just tell him to tell me who it is, or I'll hang up. He always hangs up.

This guy just called me and also faked to be family from Spain but when I asked him about his mother hé wasn't able to say anything.... Freaking bum... Hope someone catches him!

A guy speaking spanish just called us saying that he was part of our family, and asking us to go and pick him up at Calgary airport. When my husband got on the line (because in theory it was his family) and asked him for more details he hanged up.
