Yesterday night we received a call from my cousin in Mexico. He said he was coming to Canada, his flight was leaving the next day. The same night he call and talk to my mother and said he will call the next day to tell her when he arrives so she can go get him at the airport. Today, he called to tell us he was going to fly to Monterrey. At exactly 13 o'clock he reminds us, to tell us that the authorities arrested him at customs because he had 40,000$ and forgot to reported it. He told us to call my mother and ask her to call him and to talk to the authorities. So my mother call my cousin and he said that the authorities do not want to let him go. My mother spoke with a lawyer and the lawyer told her she must transfer 1000$ by Wester Union IMMEDIATELY so he can take his flight. My cousin begged my mother on the phone. He said: "Please Aunt, I don't want to go to jail". So my mother accept .. And she asked him how she would know that he has received the money and take his flight. He told her that he call her 15 minutes later. He did not recall... my mother trying to join him but it said that there was no service... Later, we saw that my cousin was on Facebook while he was "supposedly" with the authorities! My mom are really mad right now..

Well this sucker calls my office fishing for info on me and my family when my staff declines to give any info he thanks them and hangs up calls back later in the day he calls back and convinces my office that he is a family member and that I would be disappointed if he passed thru town and didnt stop by to say hi so they give him my cell phone. Plays the Im a family member thing on me and says that we can go have dinner once he gets into town that he is about to cross Laredo. Calls back in about an hour and says that he struck a pedestrian and that he didnt have an insurance policy to cover bodily injury but that he has agreed to settle on the spot with the family but that he can not cash his so called cashiers checks if i could wire $5000 and that he would pay me upon his arrival. By this time I know whats up he puts a so called Federal de Caminos on the phone ask me if I can vouch for " Carlos" I not only say no but hell no at this point they know there plot is falling apart so he puts Carlos back on the line and he plays the family card at that point I ask him when he is going back to (Canado) a ficticus city I had set up on the prior call once he tells he will be returning next week I ask him thats funny cause there is no such city he hangs up.

At 4:34 pm today June 2012, we receieve a phone call from from a strange number. He says he wanted to come and visit, he sounded very convincing saying he was along lost cousin from Tijuana Mexico
He asked if we can pick him up the next day. From reading these comments and from reaserching, I bet the money question is coming up next. That Foo has nothing on me...

thank you for the post i just received the same story he was a male person saying that he was the oldest nephew in my husband side he mentioned my last nam he knew that much i started question him he hang up....very nice easy going person watch out he dosen't come out rude.. watch it people.

Recently happened to my wife also... it may have been the same person, definitely it was the same story... "aunt, aunt... don`t you recognaize me it`s me... wow I can`t beleive you forgot about me already?" my wife asked who is this? several times, where are you calling from? suddenly he replied: you forgot where my uncle is from? my wife found it suspicious and the "scammer" when he did not get answer, decided to hang up!

J'ai reçu un appel de quelqu'un que je ne connaissais pas et qui prétendait me connaître et s'annonçait pour venir chez moi "avec un cadeau pour me donner une surprise". De toute évidence, je ne connaissais pas cette personne et d'ailleurs elle m'annonçait qu'ils étaient trois... Comme elle refusait de s'identifier clairement, j'ai décidé de ne pas les recevoir.

in my house for a visit and I told him I dint have anymore a house, then the line was cut. He called back the
same night but I dint answer, Today he called twice I nerver pick up the phone.

November 15, 2011: Wife is getting phone calls from 331-530-7227 somebody supposedly coming from the border and will be passing through our city. He is throwing all kinds of names, she gave him my number but I was busy in a meeting at the time. I am pretty sure it is a scam since the names used i am not familiar with. If he calls I am sure the MONEY thing is next.

This morning, October 21, 2011 I received a call from a male stating ther he was my nephew from Mexico, I did not reconized his voice. He started making jokes until I said some names of my nephews and he picked one and said he was on his way to the US to buy a truck in Ontario California, and that he had two cashiers checks of $10,000.00 each.
Late he calls back and asks for $3,000.00 because he was in a car accident and had a Mexican Comandante trying to help him to settle this matter. He could not cash the checks in Tijuana.

Same story...Be careful, a guy called me this morning pretending to be my uncle and that he was on his way to the US. He called one hour later and said he had gotten in an accident and needed $1000.00.

This morning, Aug. 22, 2011 my wife received a call from a male stating that he was his nefew from Mexico my wife did not recognized his voice and he starting making jokes until my wife said are nefews name and he agreed. we got a call this morning from my cousin in mexico saying he was coming to vist next thing you know my mother gets a call saying he needs money he got in a car accident,so we called my aunts in mexico and he just go into town in mexico visting family so its not him....seems like the same story as everyone elses..WATCH OUT DO NOT ANSWER ANY OF THESE CALLS
