We get calls from this number quiet a bit....we too live in Mexico. Always someone coming to town and would like to visit.
The next call is that there has been an accident and can we send some money to help them out.
The second time he called, we said" oh, so glad to hear form you! Does that mean you will be able to pay us back the $x,000 we loaned to you years ago?? They usually hang up and don't call for a while (months),

A man called from this number and acted like he knew me and we were buddies. Said he was coming to my city today to attend a wedding. When I started asking questions because things sounded fishy, he hung up. Some sort of scam but I don't know what it was.

Said his name was Michael, an old friend. I ask, what Michael? He said from back home...then he hanged up.

A man called and pretended he knew my Mom. Said he was calling about people that had the same maiden name as my Mom. She passed the phone over to me. He kept quizzing me to see if I could guess who he was, and gave me hints like, "Who is your favourite?". Finally he said his name was Michael, and then the call got disconnected. We phoned the number on the call display, and the recording said that the number was not in service.
