I received a call from this number on June/20/12, my mother answered the phone and when this person asked for me (telling my name), my mother said "who are you?." Then, the man hung up. Importantly, the persona speaks with a Cuban accent, my mother recognized it because we are Cuban Americans.

Hoy, junio 3 2012, at 2:20 pm recibi llamada del telefono 333 589 8063 quien dijo ser mi primo, que venia viajando hacia Miami y llegaba en unas horas, que tenia reservacion en Hotel Marriot cerca del aeropuerto, que queria visitarme y me traia un regalo. Corto la llamada por cuanto iba a surtir de gasolina y despues llamaba. No le reconooci la voz. Minutos despues llamo solicitando my direccion.
Le dije que estaba reportado a la Policia y colgo la llamada.


Today, 6/3/12, I receive call from man (333 589 8063) pretending to be my cousin and said he is arriving to Miami with reservation at Marriot Hotel, near Airport. He ask me about address and other cell phone number to call me later. He said that he is going to fill gas up and call me later. I don't reconice his voice.  Minutes later again call me and asked me about my address, when I said that the police knows about his phone number and then he hung up.

Received a call to my house number, stating that he is my nephew but again never gave his name, stated he was bringing presents from Mexico, was driving from Juarez and was now driving from Tennessee to Miami to work down here for a month. He said he had cashed some checks in Juarez and had about 700 dollars and was afraid to stop on the way for fear that he would be robbed. This is very perturbing.

Someone called saying that he was a cousin that I had not seen in a long time. When I asked his name, he kept saying, "Which cousin have you not seen in a long time?" When I responded the cousins from Spain, he asked which ones I had in Madrid. When I answered two names, he took one of those names and claimed it as his own (even though he did not sound like my cousin from Spain). He said he was traveling to Miami through Mexico because there was not a direct flight from Spain to Miami. He said he would call me later to give me the hotel name and number in Miami so that we could meet. After he hung up, I called my cousin in Spain, and he answered the phone - in Spain. I told him about the call. Soon after hanging up with my cousin, the first person called again, right away saying "Hola prima" (Hi, cousin). I told him that he was not who he said he was and definitely not my cousin. There was a moment of silence and then he hung up.
If the person calling does not identify him/herself, do not offer any information. I mistakenly offered the names of two cousins. Hopefully he cannot do much with that.

I receive a similar call, today 03-03-2012 at 7. pm the guy was pretending be my nephew, but beacause of he's strong mexican's accent i inmediatly knew he was not. Peaple be aware!!!! This a scam, be carefull, and notify the police.hop the get cached.

Received a call claiming my cousin was in mexico trying to get to miami. However he was stopped at customs because he failed to declare 20000 dollar and needed to pay 1000 in fine in order to unfreeze the money and continue to miami. names the gave us to send the money to are Alejandra Lucia Murillo Cano and Maria soledad Collazo diaz in guardalajara Jalisco mexico.  
The person that spoke on the phone supposedly representing my cousin said he was a human right lawyer that works with the Mexican customs authorities to prevent their officials from abusing the unaware public in cases like this.
If you send any amount of money for whatever reason they will call you back to tell there is another problem and that your relative had some hidden cash inside a computer or something and that they need more money. Dont fall for this scam like my family did

This guy called my mother and said he was my father's nephew and called my father by his first and last name.  (Their phone listing is under his name) When he asked my mother for "her" name my mother would not give it to him and demanded he repeat his name instead since he was the one calling.  He told her she was very rude and she hung up on him realizing it was a scam.  BEWARE do not give out any personal information!!!!!

A young man called my mother making believe it was her nephew and saying he was going to visit her.  Please be aware of this people.

I received a call from this number tonight at 10:10PM and a guy pretending to be a cousin of mine tried to talk to me into a family conversation but he could not tell me how the family call me (my family allways call me by my nickname, never, ever by my name) so I hung up and tried to call back that number and it was no conection. I notify the police already

This scam is in two parts.
First, the scammer calls you pretending to be a relative (cousin, grandson, nephew), saying something like "remember me?" while fishing for info about your family, and saying he'll be coming to visit you soon (usually from Mexico).  Then a day or two later, their second call: the "relative" is either in hospital after an accident, in jail, or stuck in customs.  He hands the phone to a crony posing as a doctor or law enforcement, who demands that you wire them a large amount of money for the hospital bill/bail/fines.

Calls started again this morning at 10am. Guy called and we spoke to him in English. He cannot speak English well. He was claiming to be the son of one an uncle.  The guy said he doesn't speak English. We said we don't know who he is talking about and that we don't speak Spanish he hung up. Local police have been notified .

1-21.12..guy called back again tonight at 10:30pm called us Tia,and said his flight was cancelled and he was taking the first flight in the morning and that he was going to come tomorrow. One of our men got on the phone and asked who is this,...no answer and then they hung up... When we called the number back there is no connection.

Received a call from this miner 1-21-12, Spanish speaker stating he was the son of my husbands oldest brother and he is coming in from Mexico today and he is going to come over to get some money. He stated our e address and he said he would be coming over tonight. He said he was going to call first and then come over. He would not state his name.

I TOOK A REPORT FOR A LADY WHO ADVISED SHE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER. THE CALLER STATED HE WAS HER NEPHEW FROM COLUMBIA AND WANTED TO COME STAY WITH HER FOR A FEW DAYS.
NOT SURE WHAT KIND OF SCAM THIS IS.

Somebody is pretending to be my nephew from NY and that he and his wife are coming to visit us in Canada. I called my real nephew and he's not doing this so it's gotta be a scam.
