Yep bill collecting for medical bills. There's two numbers listed for these guys. When the first number calls me I use my call forwarding to send it to the second number..lol yup. Make them prank themselves. hehe

Just received a call from this number with no message left.  After finding this site,  I am glad I did not answer it! !   I have little tolerance for disrespectful,  yelling people. ..

Got a call from this number about a debt I supposedly owed. Found out it was about a surgery I had over 5 years ago...when I was 13. I explained this to the guy and he basically acted like it was irrelevant.

no clue why received a call from this number either. glad I check the number and found this site. how very unfortunate -- and not okay. no message left.

This number just called me. Didn't leave a message or anything. Glad I didn't answer based on these comments. It wouldn't have been pretty with the day I've had today.

The phone rang just a few minutes ago, it was this number and caller ID said "Stern and Assoc" bu I didn't answer it. They left no message. After reading these comments, I'm glad I didn't answer it, and Mr. Mitchell better be glad I didn't answer it, too. I can give back as good as I get from rude people. And them some hehe.

I finally answered a call from this number and a young woman asked for someonr I did not know-my thoughts after reading previous posts here are that these people find us, the ones' that owe medical bills and call just to harass. Some kind of sick game I think-any legitimate collection agency would not use these tactics as described by others-just let the phone ring

I received multiple calls from this Dennis Mitchell.  He was never rude to me but I have asked at each call that he send me something in the mail on their letterhead, so that I know they are legitimate.  To date, I have received nothing.  He did say that he sent a letter in the mail but I probably thought that it was junk mail.  Really?!  If you send a collections letter from a legitimate company, it will not look like junk mail.  I don't mind paying but I will not give my banking information to just anybody who calls and says that I owe money.

These people should be shut down....Dennis Mitchell is going to die of a heart attack one day if he doesnt calm down when he calls....I always ask for them to send me something in the mail and they will not, so I dont know if they are even real...

He does the same thing to me. Im not disputing the validity of the debt I owe, but I wont pay if its with this man... I have asked repeatedly to send me something via mail so I can turn it over to my attorneys to investigate the validity,and he wont stop yelling long enough to do so....I would love to turn him in to BBB- and the funniest part is he calls me from Unknown Numbers, and several different area codes...it makes me laugh, because he just gets angrier every time I tell him he's a nutcase....

Call the local authorituies.  Do not contact the FTC contact the FBI.  Also call the Bar Association for the state.

Same phone number with Stern & Associates, young lady asking for my 89 year old father that just got off hospice, he had an ambulance bill that incurred while he was in a nursing home for 14 days and he fell the first night.  VA is covering it, but taking time..  I told her he would never be "able" to take the phone and she said do you have a written power of attorney? I said no my parents have lived with me for 8 years now, she said well untl we get a written POA for him we will phone and ask for him, we can't tell you what it's about, I said then fair enough, don't call back on this phone again then because it's MINE not Dad's. SUCH RUDE PEOPLE

I had the same thing happen with this place - except the medical bill wasn't even mine.  It was my sister's from college who doesn't live in the state.  I called up and spoke with a young woman who essentially tried to use me to track down my sister.  I was like - I'm not the FBI & I don't work for you.  After requesting that they remove this debt from being associated with my name the girl got an attitude because I wouldn't provide her with contact information for my sister!!! She hung up on me and they never returned my messages.  VERY RUDE!!! These people suck.  I've already reported them to the FTC and I recommend you all do the same if they continue to treat people with a blatant disregard while tarnishing their credit standings.

I called this office today because they were on my credit report and I wasnt sure who they were or what they were so I called the number given on my otherwise spotless report and I spoke with Kevin whom informed me that this bill was from 5 years ago (I was still in school) and that the bill has been sent many many times.  Well I asked him if there was anyway they were sending the bill to my parents house instead of my current address of the past 4 yearsand instead of saying yes maam let me check on that he yelled at me until I was in tears.  I can not think of anyone that has ever spoken to me like that.  I was trying to pay him but he just kept yelling and yelling and yelling and I finally said can I please speak to a manager and he transferred me to another man who proceeded to yell at me and call me a liar and say that he didnt hear any yelling (im still sitting there holding back tears).  So I finally hung up on that man and called the doctors office that the money was owed to (5 years prior) and the sweet office manager helped calm me down and took my payment IN FULL!  If I were the doctors being represented by this company I would be very embarassed!!!  I am actually calling all of my doctors from now on to make sure they dont fund this place in any way shape or form.  NONE of MY money will go to them!!  EVER!!!!

Dennis Mitchell hounded me with threats regarding a bill that my ex-husband's insurance was to pay.  He was and is very, very rude and does not know how to deal with the public - especially members of the public who receiving this type of phone call is a new experience. He placed a statement on my credit record that I (not my insurance company who was still processing) had not paid and lowered my credit rating.  I just called and was told that notification would be sent to the credit bureau the end of this month.  If not, we'll see.

I received a call about my fathers medical bills. Bills that have been approved for payment by the VA (veterans association) Everything was cleared with them before but sometimes it takes time. We got the call from Dennis Mitchell and when my mother got on the phone he was very rude and yelling at her. She was calm and explained the VA situation to him. He continued to yell at her, and then said... Do you plan on paying this bill!?! My mother simply said  "no, I do not. The VA is paying it." To which he yelled back, yeah I'd like the VA to pay my house payment too but I don't think that's gonna happen either! Mom said, were you in the military? No, he said.  Did you serve in Vietnam? No, he said. Then I don't suppose they would have any reason to she said. (go mom)
My father is dying of colon/rectal cancer which has now spread through his body. Bills are tight, and the V A is slow. The last thing my mom needs is some a**hole calling and yelling at her. I'm just thankful my dad wasn't the one who answered the phone to be subjected to this.  This guy should be fired and sent to therapy.

I am permanently disabled.  I have a bill that I have been paying on for two years in the amount of $516.25.  I have numerous other doctor bills that I have to pay also, and try and keep a roof over my head and a car.  My disability is my only income.  Dennis Mitchell has called me several times screaming that they are going to take legal action against me.  He is rude, arrogant, and has absolutely no manners or person skills.  I explained I am sending $5 a month, but he keeps yelling.  I told him to send me statements and not to ever call my number again.  He told me he was not sending me anything, but taking legal action against me, and hung up.  I have contacted Cornerstone Healthcare and Associates about him because this the the doctor bill in question. That man should go to boot camp and be yelled at 24 hrs a day.

I received a call from a lady and she was looking for a senior citizen that I know. I told her that she was not available, so I guess the lady did not believe me and replied with a sarcastic remark and then slammed the phone down.  I called the number back later, after researching the phone number and reading comments on your site or this number. I called  and a guy answered the phone.  He acted like he didn't want to say the company name, but finally did.  I ask him what the call was regarding and that the lady was rude that called from there earlier.  He was also short and rude and then hung up also on me after I stated that she was not available.  I called him back and then hung up on him (intentional).  He called me back 8 times trying to get the opportunity to return the favor, but I did not answer, nor did he leave a message.  I am not one to reckon with and this company will be reported for harassment without a cause, especially looking for an old sickly senior citizen.

I received a call from a Dennis Mitchell stating he is Stern & Associates and my name came up in some court filings in regard to some outstanding bills from his client. I've never ducked and dodged my expenses so called him back to find it was a doctor I used a year ago. I called the doctor's office and turns out there was a clerical error where the bills and notices have been sent to the wrong address. I call Mitchell back, and explain and he's arguing and yelling at me, extremely rude, saying that "this is the information that I'm given" and slams the phone. Apparently, this is nothing new from him, as I found another review by way of his 800 number, 800-455-0260. Also, his local number in Greensboro, NC as listed on Stern's website is 336-272-0800.

On the reviews for his 800 number, there are a couple suggestions on how to go about officially complaining/filing notice about Dennis Mitchell to the proper organizations/authorities, i believe the FTC. I'm also taking it up with BBB; not gonna get him fired or reprimanded tomorrow, but I'm sure it's already piling up a case against him.
