Answering machine picked up call but they leave no message. I have gotten about 10 calls from this number with no one ever answering or leaving a message.

Multiple calls from this number. Usually does not leave a message, but when they do it is a hang-up. I answered once and they hung-up on me. Have been calling my phone 2-3 times a day for over a week.

Identified as police fundraiser something like cops and playgrounds. We did get calls from this same outfit as NCCOPS. They ask for one person by name and hang up if that person is unavailable. Will not send literature by mail.

NCCOPS Charitable Foundation is not calling from this phone number. WE have reported this to the telephone company and the NC AG's office for investigation., as someone is trying to sabotage our fund raising efforts, usually a practice of competitors.

The NCCOPS Charitable Foundation has never had this 336 689 4987 phone number assigned to us by our phone carrier.  This could be someone using a Magicjack or vontage box.  WE reported this to the NC attorney generals office, and they are saying that we have been "SPOOFED".  The Investigation continues.

WE apologize for the trouble but it's not us, just someone trying to generate complaints for us.

Caller hung up without leaving message

We have been "Spoofed"  I don't know about you but my number is on the do not
call list and has been for the last 2 years and I know to renew the list
at least ever 6 months and I'm still getting calls from this number
and others. Its time we start fighting back with law suits and do
away with phone soliciting. Just say no to phone soliciting and we
don't have to worry about who's number this is.

The NC Attorney Generals office says that since neither we nor our fund raising company On Guard Services has ever had this phone number we have been "Spoofed", by someone trying to generate complaints for our Foundation.  

WE have reported it to the phone company as well and both they and the AG's office are investigating.

We apologize for the trouble but it is not us making these calls.

WE have no idea who is using this number making calls for the NCCOPS Charitable Foundation. It is not the foundation.  WE have contacted the phone company and the AG's office to initiate investigations.

HUNG UP WHEN ANSWERING MACHINE TRIED TO PICK UP THEIR CALL.  NO MSG LEFT.

Called and asked for my wife. Gave a name (which I don't remember) when I asked who was calling. When I asked what it was about he said something about it being "of community interest". When I asked for more information he hung up.

Let's put these creeps out of business. I am tired of being hung up on!

The NCCOPS Charitable Foundation is classified as a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt charitable foundation by the Internal Revenue Service. Gifts and donations to NCCOPS are tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Funds are used to operate NCCOPS seminars, programs, web site and our administration. A portion of the gross fund raising proceeds is used to defray the expenses of public education, administration and the cost of a public appeal for support.

The NCCOPS Charitable Foundation receives many calls from citizens asking for information about NCCOPS and many times about other organizations that we have no information or knowledge about. NCCOPS believes in full disclosure of information about itself and organizations that request support from the public.  

Here are a few things that will aid you in deciding whether or not to assist any organization that calls or writes you for support.

1. If you do not know the organization that is requesting support ask for information to be sent to you or a website to go to in order to get more information.

2. If you cannot get a local or toll free number to speak to someone in charge then chances are that you should not give to that organization. If phone numbers and contact information is not on literature you receive or on a website, then chances are that the organization is not legitimate.

3. No one soliciting for NCCOPS will ever ask you for: Personal Information Bank Account Information, Social Security Number, Age, Living Arrangement, Health Status, Income, Drivers License Number, or any other personal information. WE do take credit card contributions and if you are making a donation by credit card we will need your credit card information. If anyone calling you asking for support of any kind ever asks for this kind of information.... Hang up!!

4. Everyone has a limited budget for donations. Stick to your budget!

Lastly, The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is working on new laws to protect consumers from Telephone Solicitations with a National Do-Not-Call list. When and if these laws become effective NCCOPS will abide by the rulings. At this time it appears that NCCOPS and similar non-profits will be exempt from the new Federal regulations. NCCOPS respects your privacy.  If you desire to have your name and number added to our own Do-Not-Call List please call: NCCOPS at 336 834 2202 and David Spagnola our Executive Director, will forward your name and number to our fund raising personnel adding your name and phone numbers to the do not call list.  Please leave this info on our message machine if possible and it will be done.
