I do not believe this is a legitimate call.  I get the same call every 2 weeks telling me there is a lawsuit against me.  I have asked for the company's contact info to call them he will not give it to me.  I asked him to mail me the info and I will be glad to look at it and never received anything.

This is NOT a legitimate phone call. The reply from Ryan must be working with them. That number has called my corporation looking for one of my employees claiming to have an urgent message. The caller stupidly left his "name" and number. Called NYPD to verify "Officer James Carter" and he does not exsist. Here are the facts that immediately indicated to me that this was a scam.:

1. There's not a department or entity name "The Law Enforcement Office".
2. The law enforcement person (normally a detective) would identify the department, unit, and if asked, badge number and would hold for the employee or have HR assist with the urgancy.
3. James Carter is Chris Tucker's character on Rush Hour
4. A 347 area code is a cell phone number in Brooklyn/Queens.

I would suggest that you inform, I believe, the FCC and your local law enforcement.

This phone number has called too many times to count in one day.  Has contacted me at work, was    told  I would contact the next day.  Didn't even give me that chance, called my work again.  Will not give
you a straight answer.  No mailing address, information other  than tell you that you will be picked up by the Police and be put in jail for 9 months.
Have requested that the information on the alleged debt be mail to me for review with my lawyer.  Still no paperwork.  Each time John Carter has given a different company

If we know he is a caller from Brooklyn, why isn't anything being done?  Isn't identity theft fraud,
terrerist threats, and LYING a crime?  Why isn't anything being done?  He is eating up my

Officer Steve Douglas called my home and cell last month, which by the way Steve Douglas is the father on My Three Sons, and today 2/11/2011 Dave Stevenson called stating that they had a lawsuit against someone close to me. He also said that i signed as a reference on this internet loan from Cash Net Marketing. I never signed for anything. I called my attorney who needed their address, so  when I called the number that was left on my voicemail and asked for this information, the person on the phone got hostile. He even used bad language. This people are so stupid and need to get real jobs!!!!!!

I am getting the same call via my cell and work phone.  I get the call every 2 weeks (not on my payday).  Same exact thing that there is a lawsuit against me.  Asked him for the company info so I can contact them directly and he refuses and states they have already tried to speak to me. Told him to mail docs to me and hung up.  This has been going on since 11/2010.

yes, it was correct that there was a lawsuit filed against those persons who taken an internet payday loan. my case was a case of identity theft and because of him I was able to sue that person who used my id and SSN# for taking the loan.

This person states that he is Officer Steve Douglas and he is calling because there is a lawsuite against me for check fraud. And He got extremely upset that I would not verify my information (such as SS #) over the phone to him. He has repeatedly keeeps calling my work phone # and its getting very annoying.

I just got a call from Officer Steve Douglas. He stated that there was a lawsuite against me. And he advised me not to interrupt him and this was all being recorded. I would not verify my SS # and he started to get frustrated with me. I told him that I was not verifying any information over the phone that I don't know who I am really speaking to. Then he got really upset.   He keeps repeated calling my work phone. I have told him this is a scam stop calling and he just keeps calling and I just keep hanging up the phone. I wonder if he will ever quit calling.

Officer Roger Hardy called and claimed to have a lawsuit against my husband's social security number and my husband needs to call him back immediately.  Now that I researched this I see where this is a scam.  I am thinking I am going to have to have my home number changed.  He claimed to be with the New York Police Department in Brooklyn.  Seriously contemplating giving the NYPD a call.
