this number has been calling our business for the past few weeks. I always press the number to take me off of the calling list, however, this time I decided that i wanted to speak to a representative and ask them personally.
when the man picked up the phone he kept calling me "sweetheart" in a very condescending voice. I asked to speak to a manager and he then asked me not to complain to the manager because he didn't want to get in trouble. When I finally did speak to someone it sounded like the same guy (he was attempting to mask his voice). I asked him his name and he told me that his name was "manager". Then he laughed and hung up on me.
I tried calling back -- the number does not exist.
Do not answer this number. This is a scam of some sort. I also called Rogers and filed a police report.
Call Type: Telemarketer

Recorded call offering "free trip to the Bahamas" if I answer survey. I don't do surveys and I select the don't call again option yet they continue to call. Once or twice a week. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of scam.

They left a message about the federal interest rate drop due to the stimulus package and that this was my last chance to get a credit card. They did not identify the company, they used a prerecorded message. This is a company using a bot to "sell" various items (car warranties, credit cards, cell phones, etc.) Their actions are under investigation by several state's attorney generals.
The actual people behind this use spoof phone numbers and shell corporations to conduct business anonymously because they are breaking several federal and state laws, and they know it. They're fraudsters trying to con people out of money.
Do not attempt to conduct any business with them. Do not communicate with them if they call. Make a note of the number and contact your attorney general and the FCC to register complaints. Chances are they are already being investigated.

They called and tried to collect a debt that my Mother, who died in October of last year, owed a large bank. They said she was on our house as an owner!! my Mother never had anything to do with the purchase of our house and is not on any of the paperwork. This is cruel and the man was VERY RUDE!! I hung up on him and we plan on contacting our attorney to handle this matter in a legal way asap.

I just received a call from this number. It was an auto-bot. The recorded message said something about being a "data compiler for google search engines". The auto-bot stated that if you wanted to talk to a sales person, to press "1" on your phone. I had other phones in my office ringing, so I didn't have the opportunity to listen to the whole message. But it appeared to be some sort of sales call. Caller i.d. shows: Powers Steph at 402-982-0584.

You were doing good, Annoyed, until the last paragraph. There's no need for that. We come in here to find info on who's calling us, not to read your nasty attack on someone you don't know.
Thanks, everyone, for the info. I don't feel bad about missing this call.

Just got a missed call from this number, no message. Called back and it said, "Thank you for calling back. If you are not interested in our special promotions and would like to be placed on our do not call list please press one. I pressed one - still have no idea though what the special promotion was or the company calling was but I'm not interested..... Hoping they don't call back!

try the front page of your local phone directory. it tells you that when (i think) they call and after they hang up. pick the receiver up and dial * (and then a 2 digit #) not sure what the two digits are, but it says in the front pages of your directory.
Hope this helps.

I have received this call from #402-982-0584 10 times now. When I say "hello" there is no answer, just dead silence. When I say "hello" in a stronger voice, there is nothing but dead silence. On the third "damnit I said hello", I get hung up on.
How on earth can this be stopped. These idiots, morons, slackies, or whatever they need to be called, NEED TO BE PUT TO AN END. This is harrassment. Yes, harrassment. I have entered my number privately to end the calls, they get worse.

The fools just called me this morning. Caller ID said it was a "Cellular Call". It was a recording in spanish (we only speak English here) for a bill collector. I waited for a live person and when they came on the line I told them they will have to speak english if they want to talk to me. They called me a curse word in Spanish and hung up.

No interested in dealing with these people.... Stop calling me, I'm tired of you, whoever you are!
| Kelly 2009-12-09 01:35:28 Unknown |
I'm thinking they just get lists of #'s and just change the ending digits... like 1-423-555-5555/6/7/8... You get the idea. I'm sorry you're going thru this. My brother is getting these calls on his land line. He just got it like a month or so ago for the internet and in case they need to call 911 (cell svc out here is really iffy at times and they have a new baby.)
