This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

What do I do ?

Got a call also from 347-292-8683 stating I have 3 warrants for my arrests and the police were coming to get me and and put me on a bus to New York Mr. Garcia told me shut up or he would get me for 9 more charges he wouldn't answer any of my questions so I called my local police dept 2 police officers came over and called the David Williams. the officer was hung up on twice and the third time was told to go f*** himself. I am so scared that they are going to steal my identity I did apply for pay day loans and did give out all my personnal info like a dumb a**, all any of this just happened today 06/13/13.

Someone named Paul White called and left message said he was with Federal Registration Legal Department. He said me or my attorney needed to call him back because a claim had been filed against my social security number. He had a very heavy foreign accent (like from India). This is BS, some sort of scam.How can I put a stop to thiscrap?

Claiming his name as Robert Dalah as far as I could understand as he had a very thick Indian accent. Said he was from the Federal Legislation Legal Department and this was a time sensitive matter and if of my attorney didn't respond that he wished me the best of luck for whatever came my way due to this legal issue !

wow they have called me 5 times in the last day and a half.  and told me they are a co. working with the gov.  they have my soc. sec. number, and address..  told me i had to take care of this matter with in one hour, and while i did this i had to stay on the phone with them on speaker, and go to a place that they tell me to send them money!! i told him i did not have the money at this time as it was a large amount, and i would need time to get it, he started yelling and swaring ant me and calling me names that i will not even put up on here, and told me i would now be arrested and will sit in jail for 90 days.. so i was a little worried because i dont want to go to jail so i called the pd. and asked i was informed by the officer that this is a SCAM and that he has had several calls about this in the past few days!!  then the dumb a** called back to ask me if i had the money, and i told him no and said i called the police and they would be in  contact with him, he yelled a cussed more, and told me i dont know what kind of stupid mistake i have made!  then told me the cops would be at my home and good luck. i tryed to give him the number to help him send them to me but he just said i was a stupid bi*** and that i would be lucky if he did not come himself and kick my a**!!! if they where a true co. and wanted money they would not treat people like this!

I received a call from a 347-292-8683 stating they are attorney Adams they stated they are a company but calling on behalf of us government of credit bureas for the federal legislation customer affairs. When ask for me to verfied my social society number I would tell him if it was right or wrong he hung up the phone.

I just had the same call today.  They called my work number and said that they where sending the police after me.  When I asked for a copy of the case they hung up on me.

I had a number 1-347-349-5568 call me a lady named Ruby told me to call 1-347-292-8683 and talk to Adam Garcia and he connected me to some one by the name of Joe Brown and he was rude telling me that he was an attorney and I was being sued for violation of check fraud theft by deception and that it had something to do with my credit report and a pay day load saying that $3000 was put into my account and it was not he said that he was going to put a black mark on my bank account and stop my social security and suspend my drivers license when I asked him for the company name and a number so my attorney can contact him he said he didn't want to talk to my attorney and hung up on me my daughter got on the phone and called them back a guy answered the phone and said joe brown was busy with someone else she said she would wait on hold and she was on hold for 7 min and the phone picked up and then hung up

They jusy did the same to me but they called my job twice. I told them to stop calling and get a life and if they gone send the police  send them I didn't do nothing wrong.

The person that called me had a heavy accents. They called me three times and also called my place of employment three times. When I returned the phone call this man that called him self Garcia, said he was a paralegal for Mike Ryan. But than later changed his story to say he was mike Ryan. He than verified my social security number, birthdate and email address. He got into detail of what I was being contacted for. He claimed that I had three counts of check fraud from a cash advance company. He also said as soon as the paper work was sent to my local police department there would be a warrant for my arrest. He than asked if I had any questions, and I said I think there is a mistake, I will contact my attorney. He than asked me if I was driving or walking to one. I responded with I will walk. He than said are lawyers just on the side of the road or how do you find one. And I went on to explain a phone book. I than asked him for his phone number and name and he said, 123 kiss my a**. I hung up and contacted my employer and bank to notify them, also I'm going to get in touch with social security and the state attorneys office.

I have been getting these same calls. They are blowing up my cell phone and calling me at work. They are very rude and will not stop. I have blocked them from calling my cell phone but they just turned to my office phone. David Peterson demands to know why I have not called David Williams. I have told them to stop calling or I will lose my job and his response to that, "if you don't call, I will make sure you lose your job." I don't have time for this. How can I get this to stop?

I keep getting calls from these fools on my cell and at work.. how can i stop this from happening ?

Same here.  Received a phone call from 347-349-5568 stating to call 347-292-8683 for a "legal matter".  I ignored it, as usual.  I pretty much know if someone is scamming me or not.  I keep my records and matters pretty clean.  There was no reason for me to be caught up in a legal matter that I could think of, so I just hung up.

I received 3 calls and he would not give any information accept to say I was being sued and had to call attorney David Williams.to discuss the case. The number is unlisted and if it was for real the attorney would not have an unlisted number

I have been receiving calls left on my answering machine from the number 347-292-8683 they claim they are Tribal Legal Systems, the person has a thick accent.  But I do not have long distance and I am trying to find out who it is.

A person named Bruce left threatening voicemails stating that I was under a criminal investigation and for me to call the lawyer he was working for. He stated that he was a paralegal and for me to Get a lawyer. HE ALSO STATED FOR ME NOT TO DARE IGNORE THESE PHONE VALLS AND TO BE IN A SAFE AREA.He had a strong mid west accent and hard to understand.I do not live in new York and have no clue how he gIII t my number. I Will take this to my local police department.

The same things just happened to my sister And told me they where going to come And arrest  her when I told them my lawyer was going to be contacting them on her behalf and his name is mark

Fraud, threatening calls. They have last four digits of my social; called me making major threats. Waiting on Attorney General and Police Department to call me back. They have an Indian person representing them on the phone; extremely thick accent. I do not live in NY, but they are using NY Google Voice numbers - I called back to talk to the attorney "Mark" and then got Google Voice. Left a message for them to never call me again.
