Just got a call from this number.  Guy had a thick accent and said I had qualified for a federal grant.  I told him if I needed anything education-wise, I would just go through the military.  Didn't even finish my sentence before he hung up.

got them on the phone again this morning, stayed with him, acting concerned, so I could get all this info.

this address is correct for VE support (VESys), unfortunately they are not at a local 347 area code number, as 347 DOES NOT EXIST IN HOUSTON!!!
281, 713, and 832 serve Houston, Texas. so that was my FIRST CLUE

I go onto my computer while he's talking, in very bad English, and start firing in this info.
VE Support does exist, at that address, but they DO NO CALL OUT TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!

So I get this idiot to give me all the info I possibly can here, pretend to be on my computer following his instructions.
tells me to start up my computer, go to start menu, right click on computer then click manage, what do I see?
I ask him what to look for, in the meantime I'm  getting every word of what he's saying in my notes.
He tells me do I know what malicious errors and messages are?  I said no, according to this CERTIFIED COMPUTER ENGINEER I am talking to they are harmful internet cookies  that get loaded onto my computer, via the internet!
Tells me to go to a webpage so that he can remote access my computer, tells me he can see my screen and that I am to click on one certain area.

Problem number two here, I am on a MAC, not a windows based system, hehehehheh, no way he can access my system, and he tells me that I have certain things showing up, I have to download some program they offer for a price so that 'my computer will run faster'.

after I stop laughing long enough, I ask the guy where do I live?  as he had said they were calling since I was in their area!  remember he said he was calling from Houston, Texas.  I'm in Nova Scotia Canada!!!!! 2350 miles away!
I asked how he got my phone number, said it was from my bill, what bill I asked, he said it was my landline!  I DONT HAVE A LANDLINE!!!!!! HE WAS CALLING MY CELL!!!
I asked him why a New York number was coming up on my phone, he says its a Skype number, lol.
Since when do companies in the US use Skype to call customers, let alone potential customers?  what a f****king crock of s***!

I recorded the whole thing and played it for my carrier, their investigating.!
Yesterday when the call came in, it said I won a cruise, the day before it was money from an unclaimed lottery!

This number is a total scam!  they want a payment sent to them, this time is was to cover the cost of removing malware, yesterday it was the taxes on the trip, the other one was the legal fees to release the money, b***s***!

THIS NUMBER IS A TOTAL SCAM, DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING OR ALLOW THEM ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER, THEY ARE INFORMATION MINERS AND WILL GET EVERYTHIGN FROM YOUR COMPUTER SO JUST HANG UP!

I get a call from this number EVERY morning and the same time and there's never anyone there. Super annoying.

These annoying people have been calling me every single morning for weeks now, 7 days a wk. It is always an oriental person with an accent and he is so annoying. He says the same thing over and over. He says that people are having problems with their windows computer and they have received several complaints. I tell him I am not interested in what he has to say and to please take me off their calling list. I tell him to stop calling me and hang up, and he calls again the following morning. I have screamed at them to please leave me alone, and still they keep calling. Now I just don't answer the phone when their number comes up.

This Caller is offering Government Grants for school, which I don't think is legal way to assists some seeking for benefit of educations anyhow anyways. and also should keep out people business and earnings.

we all received calls from this number relatively around the same time.. or two days apart. its most likely some spam bs... unless we all know someone in ny?? i got a friend goin up there, but he hasnt left yet.. didnt recognize the area code to begin with.
