WTF? I got a txt message from this number.  he/she better stop or will get sued.

I got txt'd too. They lucky I have a MMS plan. If I had to pay for this txt I would really be upset right now.

I got this txt msg  from the spammer.

"You're Approved! 4.49% APR FHA Fixed Rate Mortgage! 3.25% APR Equity Line! Call Liberty Mortgage Lender Now: 1-888-608-7490..."

It's a spam

I have no idea who this is.

This is how you get back at those scammers:

Call their toll-free number (1-866... or 1-888... or 1-800...) from a PUBLIC PHONE booth.

Why? Because everytime they take such a call, they have to pay at least $0.50 to the phone company of the public phone booth! Also, it will make them stop if it
starts to cost themtoo much.

Please do the same, because this is what you get out of it: they pay you to hear your complaints! The more you call, the more they have to pay!    

The number they gave me was 1-888-336-3169 - and I called this number today at least 20-30 times... That costs them at least $10 to $15 - and probably much more, because the $0.50 that these scammers have to pay for each call is the minimum amount. It can be as high as $0.75 per call.

and it came from a 347 number..

got a text message 10/1/09 at 9:11pm from 1-341-301-3761:
You're Approved! 4.69% APR FHA Fixed Rate Mortgage! 3.25% APR Equity Line! Call Liberty Mortgage Lender NOW: 1-877-353-5806 Approval Code:...

I got this same SMS text message on my cell phone today. This is considered TELEMARKETING... Are your cell phone numbers listed on the National Do Not Call Registry? If they are... then this company just violated the law.

And finally know the law... cell phone numbers are PRIVAATE and in some cases cost the cell phone owner money especially if SMS texting is not in the cell phone owners plan. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) has laws governing the use of private cell phone numbers for SMS texting. Their website is http://www.ftc.gov/ <>

Fines for this type of illegal activity can be as low as $10,000 per occurrence. But in order for our government agencies to take notice; we the people have to be vigilant in making sure our complaints are heard.

Please use the information I've provided and make the appropriate complaints.. and please do NOT forget to follow up with these agencies.
