Same thing here. Person wants to buy my car sight unseen. He's "on a ship", and has to have a shipping company come get it. Name is Micheal Larry on his gmail account. Email address micheal.larry00001@gmail.com. Below is a copy of only one of their emails:

"I have just made the payments now and i expect paypal to have emailed by now,check your PayPal email address both inbox and spam if you have been messaged yet,i sent $14,300 in all,paypal said they would be holding the funds because of the excess payments of $1,300 added meant for pick up of the posting your paypal account will be funded until they get the western union information from you that you've  sent $1,200 to my pick up agent  via western union money transfer, i also add $100 western union charges.,

No legit buyer will buy something expensive without seeing it, nor will a shipping company make you send a lot of your own money before they will give you any infomation!!!!

I received a test from this number about 6am this morning.  They were asking if I still had the item that I had advertised on CL.  Odd thing to me was they put the price of the item in the text.  Nobody ever does that when they're calling to buy something.  There would be no need to list the price when they're texting you.  I know what the price is and would assume that they do to if they're wanting to actually purchase the item.  Don't know what the scam is all about and certainly don't care to find out.  Just know it's a scam.

I have a 3 yr old Dogue de Bordeaux for sale...was contacted by text when I told him I was not selling him anything because I know he is a scam he said he cant cancel the transaction and would take legal action. Yeah I dont think so I never accepted the money or got any emails at all saying I have funds that have been sent to me. Long story short its a scam he says hes buying stuff as a gift and his name is Nelson Thomas (or at least claims) to be.

Used exactly the same line as Nick above. Wanted to buy a car I had listed on Craigslist for his cousin. Asked for my PayPal email address

This person contacted me about a car that i had posted on Craigslist. He asked me to create a paypal account and he would have some people come to pick up the car.  He said he was buying it for his cousin.  When I asked him where he was located he stopped messaging me.  He said that his name was Nelson Thomas.  Be careful.

This phone number was given with a scam attempt on an item I was selling on Craigslist. They wanted me to send a payment via Western Union to pay for their shipping costs, in advance of me receiving any money. They reluctantly provided this number as their contact number for their shipping company, who they claim is called Bazook Moving Company, and the lady in care of the shipping is called Shauntai Manning.  BEWARE

Tried to sell jewelry, responded with a text and claimed To be Nelson Thomas from New York. Glad I looked up his number. SCAM.

I got a text from Nager Thomas a few minutes ago, asking about my Craigslist vehicle. He hasn't given me his pitch yet....but I'm now prepared with a proper response.

Received text wanting to purchase a vehicle sight unseen.  Caller ID shows Bronx, NY.  Name is supposedly Nager Thomas

Craigslist scam. Contact was by text.
