I just now recieve this same email from this guy, But he uses the name of Micheal Hugo. Now I dont know if thats his real name. I work at AVON and I am a representative. Before I accept new customer I actually find out 1st if I got an Email saying YOU HAVE A NEW CUSTOMER on avon. Instead I didn't but for someone he got through send his email right on my AVON. Anyways soo the next thing I did was search up this email and found this. Im soo glad I do my re-search 1st before I get scam. Thank you GOOGLE...!

I am so glad I looked at these postings! I had received the same kind of email from: "Helen Edward" helen_edward114477@yahoo.com, I googled the name and it brought me to this blog! So glad I didn't get sucked into the scam!

I did the same thing, i google this guy and found this page. john wortford. same thing same history as u guys. his "wife" made a mistake and sent me a money order wrongfully and he's trying to pass it foward. wow i just can't believe what u guys have said.

yea, john wortford replied to my craigslist posting about a jacket i wanted to sell...he offered a money order or a certified check...the weird part is that im a north carolina resident, this guy obviously doesnt live in north carolina if he's replying to posts from all over the place...

i suggest no one deals with this guy

How many people fall for this scammer?  I looked up his name and came across this web page. Glad I did!

He doesn't purchase anything and if you get a money order from him take it to the authorities because this is a big scam.  There is a place on google where you can compare a real money order against a fake one but he won't take the time to do this. He just needs to get a life.  I have written directly to Craig's List with all the information I found out.

Same thing here--craiglist posting for a $25 dollar item, his wife sent the wrong thing to the wrong place and had her go back to stop the mail then got in a wreck on her way...wanted me to send the item to one address the money somewhere else...long story ended up getting the money orders and tried returning them but they came back to me address unknown.  He used the name Juan Vargas and told me he was deaf.

I posted an item on craitslist here in Bastrop, TX and this dumbo said he wanted it and was going to have it shipped.  Why do people do this?  I do not understand, are they trying to get our contact information?

i just got one from this a***ole the other day trying to buy an item i have on craigslist for $150. telling me he instructed  had his secretary get the money order ready but he accidently made two M.O.for 949.99!!! and wanted to know if i would be nice enough to transfer the difference to him minus my amount or a U-HAUL courier would stop by and pick it up! this retard must think i'm new at this. he needs to be turned into the feds!  HILDY

I also have been recieving emails from him, IM SOOOO HAPPY THAT I GOOGLED HIS EMAIL ADDRESS. He recently listed to an add on craigslist that I posted about my coach purse and he sent me the following message:

issued out to you but am very sure i only made a request for the cost
of the goods to be made out to your name .This is a terrible mistake
and i was just informed about this so please once the check is
delivered please take it to your Bank and have it cashed as advised
by the accounting officer at the Bank.

You will then deduct the cost of my purchase plus the extra 20$ for
taking the AD off Craigslist.The rest of the fund should be sent to my
mover via Western union the same day you do receive the payment so
that my mover can make the trip over for the
pick at once. **I will need your immediate response via email assuring
me that i can trust you to handle this with care and have the
remaining fund returned appropriately.

Got one too.  Selling a snow plow and he wants it shipped.  He also wants me to take down the listing. His email comes back to a town not far from here.  Didn't get a phone yet, because I was suspicious from the start when he asked about my "item".  I told him in no uncertain terms I would not take a money order or check...cash only and that I would sell it to the first person with the cash.  Then I found this site and emailed him again telling him his email was being forwarded to the FBI.  And it has.

I got an email from him in Ohio about a craigslist ad I posted.  Boy am I glad I googled his name.  Here is the email.

(1.) Is that correct?

You want me to keep 300$ for the cards,
give 50$ to the Uhaul driver,
and send 1350$ back to your secretary.
(2.) Is this correct?
(3.) And if so, can I get the routing number to your bank account? (so you can get your money back safe and fast)?

I will be honest in this transaction.
I would expect the same from another individual, if I were on the other end of this issue.

With sincere apology i will want you to please accept my pleading about your payment there is a big issue about the secretary that ought to have send you the payment as stated but something heart broken happen to the secretary child the only child she is a sickle cell child and she just pass on  about some few days ago so with this the secretary can not send the payment though it has been purchased on your name so please i  assure you that you will have it by Tuesday next week ok and i will send the necessary information you need to have once is send ok .
