I got the same call this morning from 347-722-6428. I really didn't understand what the hell he's saying. I asked to speak to someone else and found out I had a mistake filling my last years Tax and I must call IRS agent Damon Marsho @ 347-435-1111. I did a research and thanks for everyone here post this scam. So, I called the # back to tell Mr. IRS Marsho "You Mother Fxxxxer " and hung up.

Same guy as above, called and left a message he was from IRS and his name is Tom Black.  He also left the number 607-323-3062.  I'm in the Chicago area the telephone area codes are out of New York.  Is the caller targeting the Midwest currently?

Heavy African American/Indian Accent guy called on 02/18/2014 & left message. He was introducing him self as Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of IRS. He Threatens that legal action will be taken / do not erase the message (wants us to call back)

I received a call from Damon Marshal this morning regard to IRS issues, I asked him what is the problem with it and he told me to call this #347-435-1111, I called but no one pick up the call, only leave vm.  DON'T LEAVE ANY MESSAGES, IT'S SCAM...

Got the same call. Can hardly understand him.  I guess it's a scam.  If the IRS want to contact me, they do it by mail.

I just received a VM exactly from this number 347-435-1111 an hour ago...he used a name Paul Brown from IRS. It is a scam.

I received a call from 347-435-1111 today.  A guy (with strong accent) said, he is from the IRS, however, I knew it was scam so I didn't call back.  (Also, I received a similar call a few days ago.)

I got a call this morning from indian guy claiming to be from IRS regarding tax issue his name is Damon. When I asked which year taxed, he said it was 2005 and 2007 years. I called IRS sometime back already as I keep getting calls for sometime. IRS said I dont owe any taxes. But this guy threatened me if I dont pay taxes in 1 hr I would goto jail etc. How do I report about this guy

Got a call this morning from indian guy claiming to be from IRS regarding tax issue. When I asked which year taxed, he said he was not authorized to tell me. When I asked why no letter is being sent, he claimed they had sent and I didn't respond!
He wanted me to call his boss Damon Marshall's at 347.435.1111

Same Indian Guy. Said his name was Paul Brown. Also gave his boss's name as Marshall. Called back angry when I hung up on him. LOL, definitely not IRS.

Got a similar call from this # this morning

I rec'd a VM this Saturday morning from 347-435-1111 and caller with a huge Indian accent (not American Indian but Bollywood Indian) and extremely hard to understand the message ...I understood that his name is Brian Cruz (it would be a first for a Bollywood Indian with name like Brian Cruz...lol) ... he stated that he is from IRS and needs a callback because it's a serious matter, etc... so hard to understand message ...I don't think he qualifies to be an IRS employee.

WASHINGTON ? The Internal Revenue Service today warned consumers about a sophisticated phone scam targeting taxpayers, including recent immigrants, throughout the country.

Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver?s license. In many cases, the caller becomes hostile and insulting.

?This scam has hit taxpayers in nearly every state in the country.  We want to educate taxpayers so they can help protect themselves.  Rest assured, we do not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a pre-paid debit card or wire transfer,? says IRS Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel. ?If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocation if you don?t pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn?t the IRS calling.? Werfel noted that the first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail
Other characteristics of this scam include:
Scammers use fake names and IRS badge numbers. They generally use common names and surnames to identify themselves.
Scammers may be able to recite the last four digits of a victim?s Social Security Number.
Scammers spoof the IRS toll-free number on caller ID to make it appear that it?s the IRS calling.
Scammers sometimes send bogus IRS emails to some victims to support their bogus calls.
Victims hear background noise of other calls being conducted to mimic a call site.
After threatening victims with jail time or driver?s license revocation, scammers hang up and others soon call back pretending to be from the local police or DMV, and the caller ID supports their claim.
If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, here?s what you should do:
If you know you owe taxes or you think you might owe taxes, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS employees at that line can help you with a payment issue ? if there really is such an issue.
If you know you don?t owe taxes or have no reason to think that you owe any taxes (for example, you?ve never received a bill or the caller made some bogus threats as described above), then call and report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 1.800.366.4484.
If you?ve been targeted by this scam, you should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and use their ?FTC Complaint Assistant? at FTC.gov.  Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments of your complaint.
Taxpayers should be aware that there are other unrelated scams (such as a lottery sweepstakes) and solicitations (such as debt relief) that fraudulently claim to be from the IRS.
The IRS encourages taxpayers to be vigilant against phone and email scams that use the IRS as a lure. The IRS does not initiate contact with taxpayers by email to request personal or financial information.  This includes any type of electronic communication, such as text messages and social media channels. The IRS also does not ask for PINs, passwords or similar confidential access information for credit card, bank or other financial accounts. Recipients should not open any attachments or click on any links contained in the message. Instead, forward the e-mail to phishing@irs.gov.

Got a call a few minutes ago from guy with a heavy Indian accent. Caller ID just said BROOKLYN, NY. He had trouble speaking and understanding common English. Is the IRS now subcontracting out caller duties to people who can hardly speak English?

Same Indian guy saying he was IRS. Gave the same number he callled from and said to I needed to call "Mr Damon Marshall, he would be at his desk". No other info.
