I too have received calls from a 951-489-0227 number. They called my cell phone at 5:50a.m. I didn't answer because I did not recognize the number and the gentleman left a very hard to understand message with a thick Indian accent.  He said that his name was Calvin Peterson and that he was from Customer Affairs and that he needed to speak to my Attorney right away. When I got to work at 8a.m., my first call was from him. I asked him where he was from and he told me to call him later and repeat to him the number he gave me. I then called back on my cell phone and asked for Calvin and got his "paralegal assistant" Ronnie whatever. I told him I knew they were scammers and that I was filing a report with the FTC and the Attorney General at which time Ronnie decided to tell me 'suck his  **** '. I told them to stop calling my cell phone and place of business and I hung up.

I hacked the voice mailbox (347-468-9550 its the same people)so I have complete access to it.  I've call a couple of people back because they sound very scared mostly senior citizens.    I was tired of this scam. they seem to have all your info.  They are calling from indian with a thick accent.

This same foreign man left three message for my husband. I returned the called and spoken with a J Clifford. He also told my husband he owed $300. He would not give out any info but last four digit of my account. He threatened to call the police and FBI on me if I call the number again. (I did call him about five times to get more info out of him).I told him he dont scare me. He said he will see me in court, I said ok.

Recieved a voicemail on my cell and also a message at my job from some guy with a thick accent.  The man was very rude and short with hs words.  He told me my last 4 of my social. I was told that I had 3 "consumer" charges against me.  I was told that I had taken out a loan and have not paid it back. I returned the call and then some woman answered. The lady just kept asking me my name and telephone number. She hung up on me because I refuse to tell her it and when I tried to call back the phone number kept going straight to voicemail and messages are full. I have since filed a complaint with the FTC and put a security hold on my credit report.

I got a voicemail today from this number, intended for my spouse.  The person claimed to be "Kevin Peterson" and his accent was SO THICK I had to listen to the message 4 times to make any sense out of it.  It almost seemed more than just a heavy accent, but perhaps a speech impediment as well.  From what I could make out he claimed this was a serious and time sensitive matter, demanded we call him back "NOW", or have our attorney of record call back, and said something along the lines of if we don't call back "I can only wish you good luck for all that will befall you".   The threatening tone is what made me realize it's not a legit debt collector.   I think this is payday loan related.  We did not get a payday loan but we were LOOKING for one recently, well my spouse was, and using online searches to see if we could qualify.  Ever since, the calls and emails have been ridiculous but most have been sales calls, before this one.  We also (and I think this is related) received an UNAUTHORIZED deposit into our checking account and then an attempted withdrawal as well.  we are working it out with the bank but I believe this caller might be connected to that.  We NEVER signed any payday loan agreement, we were just "shopping" for a possible loan but then decided against it.

ok dont buy into this its a company out of asia i beleive but they have multiple numbers they use  they get yoour info if u did a payday loan threw that montel williams advertisement  i got conned by them once3 but got reimbursed on a court settlement in my favor as well as alot of others dont give them your money ignore the calls and my job will not take personel calls unless its family emergency i mean they tried calling my job but basically got hung up on lol dont beleive this nonsince  call ftc but do not pay them a dime itss nothing but fraud

I have received the same call as many of you.  I know it is a scam because it has happened to me before.  I reported them to the FTC and the BBB and registered my number on the Do Not Call Registry website.  This time when they called questioning me I hit him back with tons of questions.  I asked for his name, phone number, business name and address, and if their company had a website.  He could only provide a name and phone number and made up some bogus company name.  I told him thank you and that he would be reported because I knew about people like him.  He simply said...be at the courthouse, and hung up! They are full of crap!!  I tried to call the number back and they picked up, but didn't say anything, then hung up.  I'm gonna call again and again and harass them like they do us!

just keep calling them and hanging up it uses up all their minutes. I called again this morning and somebody picked up and yelled stop calling me.  Thought it was pretty funny.  The number will change but it is the same people.  Very heavy accent but that's what I have been doing since they started calling my work number.

I received a voice mail from the same number, from a man with the same type of name, and a heavy accent that could not be understood. He went on about the whole lawyer thing and when I tried to call back all I got was an automated response "your account balance is zero dollars" and it hung up on me. I have yet to call the number back and speak with someone. I will report this like everyone else since it is a flat out scam.

i got a call from this number and when I tried to call back I just got a recording that stated the mailbox was full. Does anyone know what this is and how they get your phone number? I hae read all the above post and I do not have any type of loans or anything. Is there anything that can be done about this? If so please post what can be done and I am sure there are many people who would sign up for anything to stop these calls. Thanks

Received three messages one on my home number and two at my work number which I only now received because they were left at 5:45 pm when I am not at work.  All three messages were from a Jim Parker( did not sound like a Jim Parker) stating that there was a very important matter at hand and that if my self or my attorney did respond and call back right away (would not state what this was in reference too in the message) all he could do was wish me good luck as this situation unfolds.  Of course I called back and spoke with a Ronnie Cooper who stated that we was an attorney, asked him which states he is allowed to practice in ( would not say) just kept telling me to let him talk, He just explained to me that there were three attempts to with draw money from my checking account(even had the name of my bank, last four digits of my ss# my email address my place of employment and my work number) stating that when they tried to with draw money for a pay day loan in the amount of $300.00 came back as nsf and that there were charges being filed against me and all this information was being sent to my employer.  I asked why and he kept yelling at me telling me that my employer needs to know of this as well as all three credit reporting agency stating what I committed was fraud.  I asked who the name of the company was that I received a pay day loan of course he would not say.  I asked if he could send me this and he said no, that my employer will have this information.  To date I have not received any funds, nor has any money tried to be taken out of my checking account.  After googling Mr. Ronnie Cooper it seems that he has told everyone he has talked to that he is an attorney but has also come up in different states as well as other phone numbers.  I told him that if he does what he says he is going to that I will have no choice but to report him to the FBI as well as the FTC and the attorney general, and then he hangs up on me. So I called back at least ten times and the minute some one answers they just hang up on you

I also received a call from this same number, it was left on my voice mail. DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION.  JUST TELL THEM THAT YOU WILL REPORT THIS NUMBER TO THE FBI AND CIA.  THIS PERSON HAS GOTTEN ON MY LAST NERVE!!

I also received the same calls to my cell phone and work phone and they also had the last 4 of my social. After my wife found this site, I told them that their number and message were turned over to the police and they asked me to call back in 15 minutes... 5pm.. when they will be closed. SCAM!

One more thing. They know your name and info because they either bought or stole it from a company you put in a loan application with. So do not feel threatened by them knowing your name or other info, in the sense that they have a real charge against you.

I had this number call me as well, I didnt answer the phone. I then looked at this website and got the info posted here. After reading the post I called the scum back. I was polite...at first, telling them that I had received a call from them. Then he went into his pitch about getting my lawyers info blah blah blah. I told him he wasnt getting any information from me unless he coud tell me his information. Then I told him he had a good chance of going to prison if he actually did talk to my lawyer. After telling him to get a real job and to stop scamming people he politely apologized and promised to take my number off of his list. I treated him like the joke he is.LOL

I received the same type of call from a man with a very thick Indian accent and I couldn't understand what he was saying other than criminal charges, money deposited in my account which I hadn't repaid (which was completely untrue) and that he needed my attorney's information ... I called our local DA  as well as the Federal Courts and was advised I had no charges under my name. Upon further investigation, I found that this phone number originates out of New York State and I am in California. I also called the FTC who advised this is a scam and if they call again, to immediately hang up and block further calls from your phone..

I have been getting calls from this # as well from a man by the name of Sam Wilson  he says he is a Lawyer collecting for payday loans. He  wants me to write him a letter and send my ss information and copy of drivers license, my debit card information etc.  He has given me a deadline for today by 1:00 to send these information to him or he will contact my employer and i will have to go to court etc.  I dont  think this is the right way to settle a debt.  I am all for paying back my debts but it should not be like this.  This is crasy and needs to stop.

I called the number back and I informed him that I was recording conversation, I asked how did he get my number,  he never answered my question.  He continued to ask my phone number and last 4 of my SSN.  I was not giving my SSN until he told me where he got my info.  After I questioned him several times he hung up on me.   I called back, he hung up again, so I called back again, he stated my name was removed from a list and I would not receive any more calls and not to call him again, click.  I called back who are you and how did you get my info, he still would not answer my question and told me again not to call him.  I explained, if you hang up on me again,  I will call again and again, he then stated we will not call you again, but if you continue to call he would put my name back on his list and you will receive a lot of calls,  again I asked where did you get my info, he did not answer, another click.  I called two more times no answer.  I have reported both number and company name to local police, FBI, FCC.

I recievd the same message. I 1st had gotten a call on my cell, I ignored it because I dont answer unknown numbers. They left a voice mail. So i checked it but could hardly understand what was being said.  All I could make out was i need to have my business attorney call them and I was being charge for fraud.
I called them back and Andy Peterson answer the phone, he then confirmed my name, email, birthdate, and last 4 digits of my social. i asked him how did he get all of my personal information. He claims from Cash advance. I told him i never applied for  a cash advance. He claims there were multiple attempts and I have recieved the funds but it was illegal. He then said I was being charged with 3 charges. He told me everything will be sent to my job. I asked why wont it be sent to my house. He had gotten upset and told me May God be with you. That was all he was saying. Then he said once I go to court I will loose and serve 6 months in jail, then he hung up on me.

I received two phone calls one on my cell phone and one on my work phone number.  The Gentleman by the name of Jim Sparkler stated that there were criminal charges filed against me because I received funds from a payday loan and the company was unable to extract the funds back since there were no dollars in the account.  I explain to him that I was not aware of any transactions and I would like to speak to a manager. He yelled at me told me not to interupt him he needs to finish reading his information if I interuptted him again he would hang up and they would contact my employer and file the lawsuit.  I mention that I am familiar with the law and that I need to speak to someone that speaks cear english and was a supervisor or manager. He said do you think a supervisor or manager would be sitting right next to me.  I asked him to remove my name and number from his list if you don't my attorney will be in contact with his business.  It is not funny to play these types of games with people.  I am filing a complaint with the FTC and find a way to file a complaint wit BBB.
