Same phone number a couple of Indian folks, heavily accented who said they were from My Windows Support and gave the 347-480-2300 number to call to verify they weren't a scam. I told them I was reporting them as scammers.

It is a scam.. Gentleman w/ thick accent stated his name is Ed Brown. Very persistent. Advised him my computer tech will investigate. He advised me he was the only one who could help and that my computer tech wouldn't beable to detect the problem. Hmmmm, pretty fishy. Feel sorry for the elderly who might not know any better and fall prey. Shame on them!!

Sorry the number is 1347-480-2300. They didn't ask for money but they also could not provide sufficient answers to convince me to proceed. They wouldn't/couldn't tell me the legal name of their company. It didn't phase them when u said I would call Microsoft before I talked to them. They also couldn't tell me why the number wasn't toll free for such a caring service.

I must have said I was uncomfortable and not trusting of them 10 times but they continue to pressure and convince you it's ok. Eventually I hung up. I was trying to see if they would share some "identifying" information.   But they said much about nothing.

I got a similar call today from a guy with an Indian accent named Max William. I agree, he was very pushy to the point of being rude. I hung up on him when he started to get offended that I wanted to verify his connection to Microsoft. Good to know I did the right thing :-)

It's been a month and no calls from those people.  But their website is still up.  I hope someone pulls the plug on them soon, literally.

Received this call 2 times today, told them that they should stay on the line because I was an Analyst and I had ability to track their whereabouts plus I recorded the conversation, and will contact the Police to file a Fraud case immediately.

Good for you!  Beat them at their own game. Me? Well I got back at them too.  I went to the police station to report them as fraud and while I was there, they called my cell phone.  I handed the phone to the officer and he told them they had only 24 hours to return my money or else they would charge them with larceny.  Well, I got it all back, from the creeps themselves .  Every last penny.  So yeah, they're not calling me back anytime soon.

These folks called me another # showing on my caller id.. I picked up and lucky enough I dragged the call on for fun for about 15-20 minutes. I eventually call this guy a scammer 10 times and he hangs up. He tried to prove he was legit and everything. I asked if he was from Microsoft and he said absolutely not.. I was given this # when I asked to for a number to call. I eventually got him pissed and so I just called the number he gave and I surprisingly this guy answered with "Hello, thank you for calling tech support. How may I help you today?". I hung up after. I wish these guys and gals would stop calling... This is annoying. Next time I'll just go bizzerk on them. When I inquired about charges, he told me it was 133 dollars which is ridiculous.. Hence, I'm fond with computers, I tricked him by saying that the thing he wanted me to install was installing... I did pull up event viewer and the website he gave me. There's really no harm in doing so since it's not going to kill my computer. <3 these people ;)

* Update*

Hi, just letting everyone know that I've taken quite a few big steps in making things miserable for these scammers.  I went to the police, and while I was at their office, I got a call from the offenders and I handed my phone to an officer who demanded that they had just 24 hours to reverse the charges, or else they would be charged with Larceny.  So far it's been almost 48 and still no refund.  But I called my credit card company and they are going to credit the money back into my account and go after the crooks for the payment.  And if they don't comply...  It stinks to be them, lemme tell you.  It pays to bite back.  If this ever happens to anyone, don't be afraid to step forward and reclaim what's yours. The more of us who speak up, the less of them will be floating around on the internet.:)

I got the same call from 1-347-480-2300. From an Indian guy who claimed that my computer was infected and was a gateway for hackers.  So like an idiot I fell for it but just an hour or two later I sensed it was a scam and I called my credit card company to cancel my card and stop the payment.  When I demanded to be unsubscribed from the service he got very defensive.  I even threatened to call law enforcement which made him even more defensive.  And I just put in a complaint to the Boston FBI .  Yeah I think this should nab them... I hope.

Just received a call from 347-480-2300.  Indian accent and said he was from Microsoft and they were receiving messages from my computer that there were lots of problems.  I googled the number and saw it was a scam.  I asked to talk to his supervisor and another man with an accent came on and said the number they are calling from is 347-481-2300.  I googled it also and everything comes up in Japanese.  He finally hung up on me because he said I ask too many questions.

They have called my home 20 times in the past two weeks!  Also, one call was 6:40 IN THE MORNING while my two young children were still sleeping!!!  How can you report them or do anything about them when their number isn't even displayed...just "out of area?"  So, you can't block them or report their number or anything!

Call came from  this number and a "Michael Williams from Microsoft" was calling about an "infection" that was in my computer and he needed to help me remove it.   Question him extensively because of accent (Indian).  Said he was calling from Brooklyn.  He would answer questions in an invasive manner.    Wanted me to go into start program on computer and put a system.  I said I would call back to his number to verify call was legit.  Ran search on number and found it was major scam

I received a call this morning from an Indian-accent man (the background noise sounded like a boiler room operation) who said that he was from "Windows Support" (which was not from within Microsoft.)  He started to instruct me on using certain control keys on the keyboard in order to detect the error messages that were being logged by intrusions from hackers. I told him that my antivirus software and firewall protect aganist such intrusions. I did not want to be using any control keys to possibly give him access to my computer.  He provided his telephone number (it was masked coming in and was logged as a "private" number  --- 347-480-2300 was the number he provided. I told him that it did not sound like a Microsoft number, and he said that his company was Microsoft Support, which is not affiliated with Microsoft.  I asked him to please take our number off of his list of numbers to call.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft telling me my computer sent them several distress messages about on-line hackers breaking into my computer and obtaining my personal information.  They offered to walk me through the process to delete the malware.  When I asked for their call back number for Microsoft they gave me 347-480-2300.  When I called back, the same guy with heavy Indian accent answered as if he was the switchboard!  Beware!

It appears these guys are still at it. Got a call this a.m. from "Martin" with an Indian accent.  Says he is from the help and support team for my windows computer,  name of company, PC Support. Says someone is trying to use my IP address for illegal activity.  Call back number 347-480-2300.  When I called back, got "elevator" music without any company identification.  After seven minutes, I hung up.  Called Police.  THIS IS A SCAM.  DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PERSONAL INFO, IP ADDRESS, OR EVEN TURN YOUR COMPUTER ON!!!!!!

I received one this morning from the same number.   My wife talked to this man for almost an hour supplying him with computer style info.  He stated that my computer will soon crash and needed better security.  He wanted to sell me one of two plans, one for $200 for two years, and the other for $150 for one year.  He started to give my wife a hard time, and I notice that my computer had a black screen with a photo showing windows Xperia startup password that stated what I would need in order to start up.  This jerk put his own windows Xp startup password  after deleting the one that was put there after computer was bought.  I told Buddha to give me that password, and he stated that he couldn't until I purchase his plan.  I said no way, and he hung up leaving me with a computer that I can't use,  I am furious that this happen, and if I had him here .............

Received same computer attack call this morning.  Obvious scam.  Reported to Micorsoft.  Why has this idiot been able to get away with this for so long.  Based on the information in this blog, it has been a year at least.  Where is the FBI or Microsoft.
