Claiming to be duquesne light but aren't. Going to start calling duquesne light and complaining every time I get one until they get them to stop.

The same thing has happened to us.  We've told them several times NOT to call us.  The phone calls from that number stop, but "client retention" picks up with a brand new number.  Again, 12 calls a day.  We tell them NOT to call, and they call from another new number.

We keep getting calls from this number (sever times per day). Caller ID displays: Client Retention.
Since it is related to Duquesne Light I am going to try and complain to Duquesne Light. Let's see if this would help.

I recently started receiving at a minimum 2 calls a day from  347 502-2534.   When I pick up,  no one is on the other line and they continue to call.

Caller ID says "Client Retention." I am told that as a Duquesne Light coustomer, I can save on my electric bill. Instructed to  press five to talk to someone. I have received this call 10 or mor times in the past month.  I have logged a complaint with Do Not Call.

I get five or six calls a day from this number. It is to "save on your electric bill". I pressed five to talk to someone as the prompt said, got a person, apologized then asked to be taken off their list, he hung up on me.

Get calls from this number daily for weeks

They call at least once every day and never leave a message. Our caller ID says that they are POWER BILL. We are in Pittsburgh.

we continually get calls from this number, even though we are on the do not call list, nor do we have duquesne light.  i called the number back and got a recording that said "thank you for calling, if you want to be taken off of our call list hit #1 and we apologize for the convenience" so i did.  hopefully this will stop the calls.  we were getting 3-4 a day.

What's the reason to post your complaints here if nobody can make any changes?
Does anyone have an idea how to find their telephone service provider?
Then all victims can press on them in order to have shut abusive service.

based on what you all have written about this number I think I'm going to call comcast and have the number blocked from dialing me.  They have called me number of times, each day, all hours of day and evening for at least a month and it shows up as New York on my caller id.  I'm tired of it and want it to stop.

"Power Bill" caller1 ID. In last two days, have gotten five calls from this number. On last one, I answered and asked to be removed from list. Person said she would w/in 48 hours. We'll see.

My phone number is on National DNCL.  Have done prompts to be removed from THEIR Do Not Call List.  Calls continue. Sometimes 3-4 times a day.  No message is left.  Is this complaint forum better placed with the FTC?

When I answer ( I have been ignoring this number) a robot voice tells me to press "1" to be removed from the call list. The call is dropped immediately. I've tried pressing other numbers, "0" for instance, and again the call is dropped. If I hold and wait and press nothing... the call is dropped. Reverse Lookup says this is a land line in Bayside, New York. I get multiple calls from this number every day....and no one is ever on the line. How can I report this nuisance and stop these calls?

Just started getting these since I switched electrical power providers (less than a week ago).  They call every few hours. ID just says New York, NY.  I even picked up a couple of them, and I get no voice or person on the line anyway.  What good is it to keep dialing me and not TALK TO ME???

Just got a call from this number for what seems like the gazillionth time.  I have tried calling back the number on the Caller ID and I get a recorded message saying "press 1 if you want to be placed on our Do Not Call list".  Tried that and got a recorded message saying "this could take up to three days to go into effect".  It's been weeks and they're still calling.  Today I tried talking to a real person (got past the prompts) but as soon as I insisted on knowing who was calling ("what company are you calling from?") they hung up on me.

They keep calling everyday 4-5 times, Told them not to call again, but they still do, what can a person do? the do not call lists don't do anything for you.   When will the FTC finally keep these crooks behind bars.

I asked for my number to be taken off the list and they just hung up on me...and continue to call my house several times a day.

Have been getting more and more of these calls every day.  If you don't answer, the robo-caller makes sure the is a "new voicemail" in your mail box, which is a hangup.  Placing yourself on their "do not call list" is a waste of time, because they keep calling, day after day, week after week.  I tried talking to a "rep", and I was "number two" in their line for several minutes...this is nothing but harrassment...

We have been receiving calls from this number every day, several times a day. Only comes up as "New York, NY" on the caller ID and won't leave a message.  No doubt they are annoying but the best thing to do is DON'T ANSWER --- EVER!!  And we also report this number for each time they call.  (So far I've filed 3 complaints against them today. )   The more calls we receive, the more complaints we'll file against them.

If these idiots truly are calling for Dusquesne Light then the joke is really on them.  We're not even Dusquesne Light customers.

They call everyday, multiple times a day. I have them blocked so after 2 rings they are gone. Still very annoying. Some scam outfit... This really sucks...

Just received a call from the above number at 8 pm tonight.  Friday, 2/22/13   I have received several of these calls in the past week which I have not answered.

The DO NOT CALL list only stops LEGITIMATE telemarketers.  Criminal telermaketers don't care about the because, well, they are criminals!

Laws against bank robbery don't stop bank robbers.  The same principle applies here.

What the DO NOT CALL list does do for you is to ensure that any cold calling telemarketer who now calls you is indeed a criminal.  You know FOR SURE that anyone calling you know is trying to RIP YOU OFF.

Criminals hate the DO NOT CALL list because it, by default, OUTS THEM AS CRIMINALS.  They'd love to go back to the days when you couldn't tell they were crooks, so they could again hide among the legitimate telemarketers.  You often see them posting on line trying to convince you that we should repeal the DO NOT CALL list and other laws that hinder them.

This is an illegal robo-dialer.  It's illegal because it does not identify who is calling when you answer.  

They also don't care about the DO NOT CALL list because if they're willing to break the law and use an illegal robo-dialer, they certainly aren't going to care about laws like the DNC list!

The first thing they demand is your Duquesne Light account number. If you ask them who is calling they will insist that they can't tell you until you give them this number.  DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER!  They could SLAM (change your service provider without your consent) your account and you could end up owing hundreds of dollars more each month for electricty.

Instead you should HANG UP because these people are probably CROOKS!

Don't bother asking them to remove you from their calling list.  They won't.  They'll just hang up on you and call again.

You can compare ALL the LEGITIMATE companies there and get the BEST RATE!  Even if these callers were legitimate, you might not get the best available rate by going with them.  Instead, shop on line and compare ALL the rates and take the BEST one!
