I just got a call from those guys today. They told me it is a law enforcement office and I have to pay back a loan that I have taken otherwise they will prosecute me. They have all my information, social security number, e-mail and street adress. I will take all legal actions against those people and I encourage you to do so. This needs to be stopped!!!!!!

I have also been call by this man calling himself Richard Williams he said, he was a law enforcement officer,


and he had a case file for fraud and if I did not pay loan money due he was going have me arrested and notify the local law enforcement. he called my cell phone, my wife's cell phone and my work. he was yelliing and also using obscene language too me,my wife and coworkers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I thank you for your posting and hope this man is caught so no one else is scamed by him and has too be put thru his line of bull

The Better Business Bureau has released many alerts on this scam, google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"  Scams mutate so read all the alerts to get a flavor of what they are.

Who do you call to get this stopped? We need to stop these people. I just received a called from these people today also.

HI, I just got the same thing today but this time the guy name is Richard William and his id badge is 6432. Good thing I did not get too far to talk to him but I did asked him many time which court house and county etc...  he kept telling me "don't you know your court house is?"  I was puzzled that not given any more info .. I checked with my bank and make sure its proper and found out that SCAMMMMERS!!! I was told next time they try to call and just call the police!  This is a joke how we american trying to clear up the information and how to protect ourselves!!!

Received a call from an Officer Roger Hardy (or Harley) - couldn't make it out as the accident is very think mid-Eastern.  Told me I was going to be arrested if I didn't call him back.  I did take out some payday loans a few months ago but checked against my bank statements and called all payday loan centers and got verbal or written confirmation that they were paid.  I fell for it and then found out it was a scam so my bank gave me a provisional credit and they are now investigating it.  Will not leave me alone - have now started calling my work.  I block their numbers when they come in at home - they started out with "American Legal Services" with a California 760 prefix; are now calling themselves Department of Law and Investigations.  I have been reporting all their numbers to the Federal Trade Commission, Arizona and California Attorney Generals, BBB and the FBI (who told me next time they call say good luck - they indicated during one call they were going to the FBI!).  I will now be reporting this number to the New York Attorney General
