Bill Stephens (Stevens) called my office this morning asking to speak to xxxxxxxx, the owner. The owner does not come into the office very often but is a relative of mine, therefore the phone call was transferred to me. As I answered the phone I was abruptly told that he was suppose to be transferred to someone who could give him xxxxxxx's cell phone number. I informed him that I would NOT do so until I had some idea who he was and who he was with. He told me this was a follow-up call and that he was from SMS. I asked him for some details regarding the previous discussions he had with xxxxxxxx. He responded with, "I'll try back later."  I then explained that trying back would not do him any good unless he spoke with me as the person he was asking for would not be in any time soon.  At this point he told me, "FINE, with your attitude, I will just call your competitor." I told him that sounded great!

I then did a google search for SMS and came up with an IT company out of VA.  The lovely lady answering the phone informed me that multiple people have called her to complain about various people calling their businesses. She stated that their company does NOT make cold calls and that these people claiming to be from SMS are from somewhere else. I see in the posts that they have used several names.

Apparently, the "callers" have not taken any recent (within the last 10 years) marketing/sales classes.  Their feeble attempts at intimidating are the fastest way to prevent their company from EVER engaging my company.

Yes they can get away with telling you they are not selling anything because their job is to just get the appt. (the hook) After the appt is setup then a salesperson comes and wants you to pay them to see how you make money and make your company run better?. Bogus

I just received another rude call from these people. I've received a few since my last post but none of them hung up on me but this rep said his name is Bill Stephens and I offered to forward him to my boss but as soon as I questioned him, he hung up. So, I called this number back to back to back and it got me to what I'm told is client services and I asked to be removed from their call list. We'll see how that goes.

I just received a call from this number. "SMS 443-303-2588" appeared on our caller ID. The reps claims his name is Calvin Varner and claims he has questions regarding our products. He refused to speak with our sales reps so I told him I would take a message. He gave his cell phone number so, I wanted to give the benefit of a doubt until I looked on this site.

Next time they call, pretend to be the boss and set up a meeting at another location - try to pick an address at least a few hours from the nearest airport since they might need to fly in their "local" reps.  Pick some seedy bar and give some lame explanation about why you need to meet there.  Then, when you don't show and they call again, scream at them for not showing up for the meeting (a day earlier or later), and repeat the fun as often as they'll let you.

This is a company known currently as SMS-NA, but they appear to be in some way related to/affiliated with/spawned from other companies known as ROI, ROI-NA, IPA, GPS, ABS, etc.  A quick google search brings up many complaints about this/these companies and their practices.  I can confirm that they are 100% hard-sell, scare-tactic, push to get the next meeting/next bill/next whatever set up.  Called even after I told them repeatedly that I'm not interested because even a minute's worth of research gives me good reason to believe they are incompetent at best and a full-on scam at worst.

WANT TO SPEAK TO OWNER ONLY A SET UP APPOINTMENT, SAYS HER NAME IS AMY AND THAT HER BOSS WAS AT MY BUSINESS LAST WEEK. BULL SH**. HANG UP ON THEM!

Got a call  from SMS 443-303-2588.  A female asked for the boss, I said who is calling please she said Amy I said from what company she said SMS I said what is SMS she said "a new company in the area".  She was put on the eternal hold button.  I would venture to say that SMS stands for Some More S____, a division of SOC which means Same Old Crap.

Haha, I love it.  I'm going to call them back and do something similar but probably much more vulgar.  And I'm going to do it everyday when I get into the office just to get a good laugh, even if they do remove me from their list.  They keep calling asking for our owner...I'm  JUST the VP so they hang up on me everytime.  Stupid F*&^s.

They called today... I said stop calling this number and put me on the do not call list....
Her response was " How would you like me to call your competition instead."  I laughed out load and said be my guest and hung up...

These guys call at least once a day.  Rude and they hang up when you tell them the boss isn't in the office.

Who are these guys?  What do they want? And how do we get them to stop calling?

He just called, said his name is Samuel with SMS Corporation.  Wanted to speak to an owner, I asked what the call is in reference to.  He said something about equipment and asked if I was an owner.  I told him I was having a difficult time hearing and understand him (foreign accent) and he hung up.

They called and asked for the person who used to own this company - that is when I knew it was a bogis call - just like all of the others he asked for my boss and when I asked what it was concerning he got very rude and said he need to speak to my boss.  I hung up on him and he called right back and "Warned me not to hang up on him again"  I hung up - I would like to find out who this is to file a harrassment case, and I would

A man called and wanted to know if we still lived at **** (he gave our current address).  I said who is calling and why do you want to know.  He said they were doing research.  Said not interested and hung up.  Very disturbing.

I got the same call from this number twice and it is a female and she acts the same way wants to talk to the owner about him doing work for her office and when i said i could help her she said she needed to talk to the owner and i said no she got a little pissy and said she will call back and i said dont bother, she is a scam or some sales person

I got the same call. She wants to speak to the owner, I asked why, what are you selling? etc., She just wants to make an appointment to the owner. I said I am the general manager, but it wasn't good enough, she wants the owner. And telling nothing about the subject. This Company Just called me so I looked at the Caller ID and called them back and did a pretty ignorant hard sell on them... Kind of went like this
Hello is your Boss there.. No he is not at this location... Well I need to speak to your Boss what Location is he at?... Sir how can I help you... Are you an owner?... No... Then you can help me by shutting your mouth and giving me your Boss.... Umm sir is there a Problem... Yes that is why I need your boss... How can I help you... If you cant following directions than you can help me so give me your Boss... Sir I will be glad to help you if you tell me what is wrong... What is wrong is I want to talk to your Boss not you... ummmm sir I just need to know what is wrong... Fine what is wrong is you call here Everyday and want to talk to my Boss so every time I get a call I will call you back and request to speak to your Boss and every time I will be more and more of an A** because I have no rules governing the way I do business...
