Don't believe a word he says. He's a bully and DBAG.. Does he really believe we are all stupid enough to think the AG is going to get involved with his collection antics. The only thing the AG is going to get involved with, is holding him in violation of the FDCPA..

I was called by this Robert Rivera Guy. I called back and got a voice mail. I called back again and a man claiming to be someone else (the smae guy claiming to be this robert guy) tried to tell me they were going to press charges on me for writing a fraudulent check to a payday loan company. I told him he was full of sh*t. He then said I was "stupid" and that his firm would be sending info to my start atty. to sue me. I laughed in his face and told him he wasnt at a "firm" that he was in a sub basement apt. with a bunch of crackheads calling people pretending to be somthing important. He then said My mom was the crack head and hung up. WTF what kind of "legetimate company" acts in such a way.. None these people are pathetic... I have and will continue to contact these people in an effort to disrupt their daily operations. I have posted this Phone number on several blog sites and they will recieve hundreds if not more Telemarketing calls a day......

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

What you should do is repay your loan when you can under the original agreement. If this is unacceptable to them, well, you tried and now tell them to pound salt

My mother-in-law just got a call from this Robert Rivera, stating that if I don't return his call that he'll forward it to my state's attorney general, he's never contacted me on my home number, and I've never received anything in the mail about it, they legally have to send you documentation about it and give you thirty days to comply, it's illegal for them to even threaten to sue you. These scammers are out in full force, if you look up this company's website, the number given isn't even the right one and it doesn't list any of the Rivera's in it. So I told my mother-in-law to just ignore it.

Yes indeed, Rick Rivera is a strong arm collector for Pay Day Loan Companies. He reads off a script on how he can ruin you personally, financially and criminally. As he reads his script, he violates numerous laws from the FDCPA... Make a written complain against him. While you're making the complaint against him, tell him to go ---- himself.

Even if I had the money, I wouldn't pay the debt now. Let him sue me. Moron. Threatening by means of telephone from out of state is a federal offense.

Rick Rivera, associates himself with Delanor Kemper & Associates. Advised if contact was not made to him within a specific amount of time the sherrifs department will serve me with documents. This is concerning a small debt owed to a payday loan.He has called my place of employment several times and was unwilling to work with me when I made clear that I couldn't not pay the total amount owed or half at his request. I requested to make four payments with proper documentation confirming I'm paying a legitimate source; in response I was yelled at and the call was disconnected by Mr.Rivera. Though I need to pay this debt I do not feel it's okay to submnit a over the phone payment without legitamte documentation. I do not appreciate being threatened with law suits and jail time.
