Just got a text from this person... Glad I checked it out first.  Thanks to everyone who posted!

Even that "proof" may not be good enough since I will bet it is largely untraceable.  Even the FedEx people will probably not have any verifiable information on the sender of the check.  Any instructions on what to do with the funds such as wire the money somewhere will lead to an untraceable drop of some sort.  However, do post back with how this goes down.  It would be nice to read that a scammer was actually busted by the authorities.

This is good... I AM recieiving a check from this guy... here is the fed ex tracking number  796713547500 --- only thing about is tho --- he is sending 1800.00 for a vehicle... lol -- better bet the truck and the title wont leave here till I talk to the bank... AND the owner of the check..,. you cant catch these guys till you are holding the PROOF in your hand -- I bookmarked this site... I will post back

Was just sent a text and this person tried to scam me, luckily I know about this scam, only sell items if the person has cash and will pick up in person

i just recived the EXACT  AS ABOVE about a item on c l , thanks every one for your help , we need to stick together on these scammers

same thing today......got one yesterday also from a 773 area code out of chicago.....same exact message same voice mail when I tried to call back cause it didn't look right.....Craigslist has gone to hell in a handbasket.

I received a text from this person asking if a just posted Craigslist item was still for sale. Then, immediately check the number and found others had received inquiries from the same number.  Appears to be a scammer.  Just checked below to classify type of call - scammer does not appear to be a choice.

Also got a craigslist item for sale and a text from this number, definitely trolling the ads to see who bites.  SCAMMER

Got the text message for a craigslist item. Bank check promise and a latter pick-up. I then received three texts in a row. It was from NY and I'm in Florida and the item for sale was over 50 lbs. I sent a reply text, "Cash only, pick up in person. I then received a final text that made no sense at all in grammer or content.
A definite scam.

They texted regarding a 500.00 item on Craigslist.  Then sent like 4 texts right in a row saying they will ups me a check and after it clears will pick up. Yea right. Glad I googled.

I got multiple  text from this number also. Good thing i check the number here. What a LOSER.

con artist  scammer-  sends inquiries regarding craigslist postings....these people are usually from out of the country trying to get peoples bank accounts etc...  DO NOT give them your "for sale" items even if they send you a check.  the check will appear cleared at your bank and then 2 weeks later the bank finds out the check was bad/stolen then takes the money from you and you are out your cash and your item...  the scammer usually doesnt speak/write correct english and will ask questions like;  Are you the bonified owner? and How much is your asking price even though your ad will clearly indicate the price.  this number just responded to 3 different listings i put in and none of them are related to each other so he just repsonds to all ads... SCAMMER
