This # keeps calling me twice I week I never pick up I don't know the # Also we've jus had people from NY come to clean the carpets in our Apt building, no permitsa, etc, the guy who did actualy let one of them in, when the police asked the (carpet Cleaner ) where he was from he mumbled, got nervous gave a NY & Fla as where he lives, NY being present. Whe n asked for ID it came up parole violation in N Carolina guess for what Breaking and Entering
I wonder if the two can possible be related? The calls, the hatian guys from NY trying to do buisness in rural PA without permits etc.

Won't work. Caller ID is like the return address on an envelope. They can put any number there they want. See spoofcard.com for a commercial service that does this.
There have been a lot of calls offering "free" alarm systems in our community lately. It's the same message, but the caller ID is different every time.
And legislation? Where are you going to get the millions of dollars for lobbyists and campaign donations? That's what the industry spent to make sure the legislation we have is toothless, and that there's only a pittance in the budget for enforcement. Classic case of best regulation money can buy.

I completely agree. That is why I moved our land line to Google Voice, so that I can permanently block numbers like this. But one our cell phone numbers start becoming targets...we need a real solution for everyone.

Also calling Alabama. Hung up before the answering machine even got thru the outgoing message.sc

Called our home number right before 1. We did not answer and they did not leave a message. We are on state and federal do not call lists.

Recorded message. Said I could get an alarm system just by letting them put a sign in my yard. I hung up before the call was complete. My number is on the Do Not Call list so I have reported their number.
silence 2013-07-29 20:10:12 Unknown
Silence upon answering. Their auto caller calls and a live person or a recording is suppose to come on evidently. They are either hanging up when the call comes out of que, the sales person is disconnecting, or the recording isn't working. This number doesn't accept incoming calls, so I have no idea who it is. I have my own "do not answer" list. Just added this number to it.

called and left no message. States it's from "Neighborhood Watch". I don't have a neighborhood watch, I live in a grated community with security patrols. I don't live in New York either.
Caligrown 2013-07-18 19:58:22 Unknown
Got a call today from "neighbor watch".... Hmmm glad to know people in New York are lookin out for me here in California!
Lol scammers
Is there anyway to stop annoying calls like these?
Joann 2013-07-15 19:28:37 Unknown
Got a call from "neighbor watch" (not neighborhood watch) are some people adding the hood part? Or does their caller ID show more than mine. Kind of scared me because I have a nutsy neighbor who shines lights and cameras at my house 24/7, but I guess they are just scammers.
Joann 2013-07-15 19:25:45 Unknown
I don't facebook or yahoo comment because yahoo shows my email address and where I live, but I got a call from these clowns this morning. Maybe they are trying to capitalize on the Zimmerman verdict. As a member of the older generation, I don't feel like I have to tell everyone my opinion online, or listen to theirs, not being judgemental, just saying.
If what you are saying is true, thats scary.
SickTired 2013-07-12 01:56:59 Unknown
Good answer! I agree that Do Not Call is of NO use anymore. Not sure even an "unlisted" number would help rid one of these intrusive phone calls.
Indiana mom 2013-07-10 20:34:43 Unknown
Same as many above. Caller ID said "Neighbor Watch". I didn't answer it and they left nothing on my answering machine. Does make me wonder if it is someone just trying to check out when people are home.

Well, two more new numbers have called today. This was one of them. When I see a number (if one shows) I just let it ring out. They keep calling even knowing that I will not answer. They are not dumb enough NOT to know that a lot of us have Caller ID. We just have to endure the ringing. Where is OUR GOVERNMENT??
pete 2013-07-01 18:41:58 Unknown
Phone just range and said neighborhood Watch I'm in Philadelphia, please don't these people have better things to do. I know people need jobs but please. Thank god for caller ID. I don't know you I don't answer. You can't leave a message I was not that important.

Yeah, funny thing, I left a Yahoo! comment on the George Zimmerman case story. My comment amounted to my neighborhood has it's own Zimmerman (not that it's a good or bad thing). Our "Zimmerman" posts on FB about following other neighbors who he deems suspcision and he belongs to a "neighborhood watch" program. Oddly, next day (today) I get this number (347-775-2688) calling me that say's "neighbor watch." Coincidence? Some idiot replied to my post "I hope someone breaks into your house and steals all your stuff!"
So now I'm left wondering if posting through Yahoo! allows hackers to find your name and phone number. Another ba$RAd left a reply on another message calling me by my full name and mentioning my daughter. I only have a "moniker" and not my real full name on Yahoo!
So what's really going on? Honest people seem to be getting tapped and searched and held at huge lengths to privacy and other rules, all while those same phone and internet companies are selling our names to the NSA and somehow making it easy for criminals to find our exact identities, phone numbers, and addresses?
Something is NOT right with whatever is going on.
PixieMom 2013-06-25 18:19:15 Unknown
Called today, I'm in seattle. Entered into my contact list as "junk" with a ringtone of "No Ring"
Star 2013-06-21 19:38:46 Unknown
Too bad there isn't someone protecting us from these bogus scam calls! Have had thousands of such calls ... and have been blocking as many numbers as possible for quite some time. Am soooo tired of getting calls from criminals......
jan 2013-06-19 18:29:36 Unknown

They just called here in Arizona. I no longer answer anytime I don't recognize the number or it is displayed as restricted or unknown. If someone I don't know really needs to to reach me, they can leave a voice mail and maybe I'll call them back.
Do Not Call was a nice idea, but it's a joke these days. Many calls originate outside of the US and use spoofed phone numbers for faking out the caller ID system.
Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if the phone companies would do something to help stop this crap? Hey, perhaps we should let the NSA handle it.
GW 2013-06-11 19:21:09 Unknown
And I mean the phone companies must provide this block at no charge to customers.
GW 2013-06-11 19:20:08 Telemarketer
I'd like to start legislation to demand phone companies allow users to block a number before it rings your phone. Not an app or third party tool, something the phone companies are required to support. After X number of people report and block a number, that line is PERMANENTLY disconnected until the owner can prove its legit.
Why permanent? Then companies selling to these shams will eventually run out of numbers and figure out for themselves how to determine real uses of phone versus new scams.
Jimbo 2013-06-10 19:56:31 Telemarketer
Just a robocall to try selling a security system. I can't believe that enough people get suckered into this kind of call that it becomes profitable for them to stay in business. If no one would answer or ever buy a system from this type of caller, then the security "companies" would have to go out of business. But, nooooo, enough dingbats will say "yes" to them that it's still worthwhile to bother the entire country with their robocalls.

I know neighborhood watch is some sort of "are you home scam" however each time they call my home phone, within 3 minutes they call my cell phone which I have ot givenout to anyone. How are they connecting my home phone and my cell phones which I get from different companies?
JJ 2013-05-31 22:40:47 Unknown

How do you expect the Do Not Call list to stop criminals and scammers? It is not a blocking service but a list of numbers legitimate businesses use to remove numbers from their calling lists. It does not cover anything but calls with the purpose of selling you goods or services and many shady companies try to use loopholes to get around it. That should tell you everything you need to know about any call that does try to sell you something unless it is a company you have done business with in the past 18 months.
