I receive phone call from this number 1-347-779-9419. he said he is fraud investigator and he like to talk to me about fraud. I ask him do you who you are talking to,he ask me who are you, I told him I am also fraud investigator and real investigator, he hung up on me. please do not give them any information and report the scam A.S.A.P.

This guy, some investigator, calls and tells me about all the things I have going against me.  He transfers me to another man (who sounds the same) and tells me there are 3 attorney's on the telephone.  No one acknowledges they are there.  
He tells me I owe the IRS, I am involved with Identity Theft, Federal Banking blah blah blah, Breach of Contract, Tax Fraud, Miss Paid blah blah blah.  
The call is coming from New York and they tell me there was 3 attempts to deliver court paperwork to me. I asked him the case number, what court this was filed in and where they were sent.  Supposedly he cannot give me that information   I have not moved in 31 years.  
He said the State of California was looking for me and the Attorney General in California had a warrant out for me.  The police would arrest me and I would go before the judge and get 17 months in jail and/of $45000 fine.    In fact he told me they were on their way.
                        BUT
If I wanted to settle this now, I could and then everything would be cleared up.
              GO FOR THE ARREST.

rec'd call from 347-779-9419 identified self as "officer From VirginiaTax fraud investigation office".  Claims I owed state taxes and had a warrant out for my arrest.  When asked what the charges were he replied that three federal agents are listening and when he reads charges I must remain silent.  My against me were banking fraud, tax fraud and theft by deception.  You will be arrested.  I said what taxes I paid all my taxes, and asked who you are.  He got very upset and stared abusing me in Hindi.. which amounted to sisters..ker, motherf..ker, etc.  Caller clearly had bad ascent call was unclear.  Of course it is fraud.  I knew it was fraud because this joker did not even care to varify my identify.  I am reporting it FBI.

Got a call this AM from someone claiming to be from state of NY department of fraud. Indicated there was a pending case that would be 'placed' on me if I did not clear it up. I called back and person who answered said 'hello' with no department name etc.  I said I needed some info for my attorney to follow up. Individual then disconnected. Very hard to understand caller and sure seems like a scam.

Some body called and left message on the machine for me to call back on the above # for some identity investigation. I am glad, I googled the # and now I know about the scam.

Same message left on my home vioce mail, regarding that I am such investigetting officer and you have federal inquiring on your name, so call as soon as possible, he repretedly left his contact numer 214-960-3005. and talked very aggresively. If you not call back you have arreest warrent and will go to jail. I know i serched this numbers on Google and i find out  this is totaly scam... I never call back this guy!. this stupid calling frequently and try to harras us. Guys best way do not call or answer any personal info...

I also got a call from 3477799419 --Ron Davies firm--left a message to me saying that state investigation is on for 3 federal charges--asked me to call back ASAP.   It is a fraud.  Unexpected and unsolicited weird call is always a scam.  I plan to report to police.

I got a similar call this morning. Hime name was Jack Robits. He was asking for my husband and when I told him he is at work he told me to ask my husband to call him back and that he has a legal case against him.

I suggest that anyone being contacted by someone claiming to be from the IRS visit this web site FIRST, before doing anything else.  You can also contact your attorney and/or the accountant who prepared the taxes in question for advice before contacting the IRS.

Remember that anyone who is calling you and falsely claiming to be a U.S. Government agent or employee is probably NOT violating the Do Not Call List laws and regulation -- but they probably violating a criminal law each time they make such a representation.  The Do Not Call List is only ONE of a set of tools that are available to you and/or the government to take care of these problems, and it is NOT the one designed to take care of this problem.  The current problem is probably better taken care of by the following CRIMINAL statute:

rec'd call from 347-779-9419 identified self as "officer Eric Matthews with the Tax fraud investigation office".  Claims I owed taxes and had a warrant out for my arrest.  When asked what the charges were he replied there were 3 including banking fraud, tax fraud and theft by deception.  Claimed I had been notified 3 times by mail and never responded.  When I said that was weird he kept saying "you were already notified 3 times and they will not send a 4th".  Kept asking what my choice was?  I said what are my choices and he said "either pay now and avoid arrest or be arrested and serve 72 months".  When I asked what was owed he said "$1236.00 now or $12,000 in court".  When I said I had no money and would just take my chances and be arrested he replied " you think you are so smart have a good day b**** and hung up.  Phone call has large amount of static in background and caller hard to understand.

I received the call from 347-779-9419 from a man stating he was Officer Mike Holt from the New York Criminal Investigation Unit.  He had a very thick indian accent.  He left a message stating that he had received several complaints against my social security number (however, he didnt give it) and that I needed to call him back at 904-410-2716 quickly or he would turn the case over to the local authorities in a city I lived in previous to my current city.  I quickly looked up both numbers to find the 347 number was a cell phone and the 904 number was registered to Jacksonville Florida location.  Then I read these stories to see that it was a scam.
I went on and put fraud alerts on my credit reports and reported the call to the FTC as well as adding my numbers to Do Not Call registery and blocked the number from calling my line again.
They do not tell you who you supposedly owe or what criminal offense you supposedly have.  I have never had any issues with the law or bad debt so I knew this was some kind of error or scam.  Turns out they have pulled it on many!!!

Same type of call I got this morning, that 3 federal charges are against me & I owe $ 1287.00, if I do not pay it by means of Green dot card, then the investigation officer will inform the local police to take action. Which is all fake.

I just got a call from this number too, and they used the exact scheme that you described above with the state being different. Thankfully, I was able to get home and look this forum up online and saved myself from being tricked. I also called up my state tax office and the IRS just to be sure that there was no issue, just to be sure.

The interesting thing is that this is being done with a phone number bought from a Majic Jack re-seller YMax Communications Corp. So my suggestion to you is to do what I am doing sending the owners of YMax a message that if they cannot prevent scams coming from their callers, the FBI will hear from me. That way atleast we can cost these jokers the money to get new accounts.

got call from 347-779-9419 said this is albert calling from state department investigation i owe them personal state tax $1980.00 I should must pay in full other wise will be arrested. said there electronic system is down i should go to rite-aid and buy a prepaid card and pay them with that card.

Today received a similar call from 347-779-9419. Thankfully no one was home so a message was left to call back immediately or charges will be filed and arrest warrant will be issued. I called them several times asking for more information they hung up on me and never provided any information about the department they belong to. I asked them their physical address and told them that I will be informing FBI about the fraud.

How come Interpol is not investigating such crimes if they originate in different countries? I was told these centers are in Caribbean or some place in Africa.

Caller Jack Roberts called and identified himself from NYS tax Dept and stated that there is warrant issued for my arrest for unpaid taxes. Said that my banking information is correct and my credit is good.  Said not to interrupt him when I told him that I have to speak to my accountant/attorney because his attorneys are on the line.
The phone number that he left is going straight to VM with another officer's name.

Received a call from Jack Reim that he is Investigatting Officer calling from IRS and my name is under their investigation for fraud.  He left a call back # 214-416-0423.  I called on the number from inoming calls on my phone which was 347-779-9419.  The same person respond and ask my phone # and name and transferred to the Supervisor ( as he said) Jack Robertson.  He said that I owe 45,000 for unpaid personal taxes from VA and the VA Govt transferred my case to them for investigation.  If i will not pay, i will go to jail, and also paying court fee.  I am on recorded line and listen to him first without saying any word.  When he finished, I asked him what kind of taxes and for which years, he said he will not give me that information.  I asked him what is my DOB or SSN, he said you wanted to negotiate now or wanted to go to jail.  I told him my attorney will call him and talk and he hang up. Internal Revenue people do not outsource their collection to other agencies like these and also Tax Departments sent the notices in the mail, not to the police department as he said.  Pl do not pay attention to these calls and report these scams.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I just got a call from this number saying I had delinquent taxes and if I did not pay I would be sent to jail. He was very aggressive with me.  do not pay any money to this person. He said is was an investigative Officer and used the name "Jack Roberts".  The second person I spoke to was "Ron Davis".

Got this "State Dept" call earlier today similar to one mentioned above. He started the same way ...This message is for .............
