My husband has been getting calls from these people ALL day today at his work. Its the Adam Garcia guy saying he is getting arrested for charges if he dosent pay up. BUT the number they are using is
347-676-1761 from what I have read here I think this might be the firwt time that number is used. The last time they called my husband went off YELLING...... I know your pulling a f**king scam and Im not playing along. You can call me as many times as you want but it wont change my mind. Go adhead and have me arrested if you really think you can. Ill use the money you want from me to pay my bail and get a real lawyer.

1.  They are completely full of s*** and you have absolutely nothing to worry about. They like to sound tough- that's their game.  In reality, they are scrawny little con-artists who have NO authority...and are definitely NOT attorneys....that is, you have nothing to worry about unless they decide to graduate to Identity Theft, where the pay is a bit higher; which, if they are going to,
they'll do anyway and NOT because you made them angry.

How to deflect: Ask them for their address so you can drive or book a flight out for tonight so you can meet them in the office and pay them face to face, as this is the ONLY way you pay debts.  If you can get their address, you can call the local police department, who will then probably tell you that it's a federal matter because it involves multiple states, blah blah...if enough people don't send them money they'll eventually get back to their cash register at whatever 7/11 they own...

2.  All of us here, whom they prey upon, have same thing in common; we've recently applied for a short term "pay day" loan.  
3.  The reason they prey upon payday loan applicants is because they are under the impression that everyone who applies for a payday loan is in dire financial need...and doesn't need criminal charges and/ or jail time piled on top of their other problems.  If you read my story below, notice their response after offering to go down to their office pay them cash of "really? You have the money to pay us?"
3.  They are able to get your personal information because they are associated with a Pay-Day lender; your personal information is propagated throughout a huge network of payday lenders...which is the reason that when you apply for one...a thousand calls and emails follow from other lenders.
4.  Filing a complaint with the FTC will do little, because they are not a legitimate collections company.
5.  Finally, understand that when applying for these loans, your pretty much giving out your personal info to anyone who buys targeted sales lead call lists...hopefully they only have the last 4 of your SS#'s.

URGENT: If someone receives a call from them, could you please tell them that they will send them the money right away...but only if they can read them back their entire SS# to you? Please post results on this and other websites so, we all know what type of precautions need to be taken to protect our identities.

These people have called me from the New York city numbers, and yesterday also began calling from a new Florida number...probably because after telling me to "kiss their a**" when I asked where their office was so I could go down and pay them face to face in cash (I offered to do this without even asking the reason for their call-they replied "you have enough money?"...I said yes, whatever you need in cash...where's your office and I'll be right over...so the guy messes up and actually gives it to me, which unfortunately I didn't catch because someone grabbed the phone away from him and hung up on me....so I decided to continuously dial their number ALL day to jam the 3 phone lines they have and they wouldn't answer again...this Florida number likely belongs to the same organization, maybe not.

All of these people have Hindi/ Arabic accents, and claim to be attorneys when they leave you a VM...that they would STRONGLY advise I call them back or something "terrible" will happen.  After receiving their initial call, I did a search on the number and came across this website.  Now, armed and ready with information to return their call, I call them and ask for the attorney who called...who is, of course "away from his desk now".  
Ok, first of all, I don't know how many of you have ever worked with attorneys before; first, they DO NOT sit in cubicles making outbound calls from "boiler room" call centers; there are usually 3-4 layers of people to get through (Receptionist, Office Manager, Paralegal's Assistant, and depending upon the dollar value of your case to the firm-sometimes you can even actually get through to the Paralegal...all before you can even THINK of speaking directly with the attorney.

Today I got a call from a man telling me to call Adam Garcia to 347 559-4028 and told me if I can give him my ss# and my dob I ask him what wad this about and he told me it was a federal case witch I know nothing about I told him I dont know what he was talking about and I was not giving him no info and he got mad told me I was going to jail and hung up on me ...

I received a call from a Ruby who transfered me to a David Williams who read a bunch of legal stuff off and said that he is with the Federal Regulation Legal Dept and I had a Federal Law Suite against me in the amt of 756.59  I said I could come up with that then he said I owe another 818.90 for another Federal Law Suite and unless I pay a total of 1575.49 I will be picked up by our Law and mychecking account would be sised and my drivers liceane pulled and they would go after my SSI. I am in contact with my law here and I am going to call the FBI

I keep getting threatening phone calls from a girl named RUBY, stating she is calling me because there are federal charges against me with a warrant for my arrest and I should call Attorney ADAM GARCIA at this number : 347-559-4028 immediately!  When she asked me to confirm my name and social, I told her I would not and that if there are charges against me, to send me the papers to prove it, she then kept stating over and over, " you need to call attorney adam garcia immediately, he will explain the charges asd there are charges against you with your last name and ss#"  When I tried to call the number she gave me, it rings 4 times then beeps and the line goes dead!  When I called her back at the number she called from : 347-559-1814, a man with a thick indian accent answers the phone stating " this is attorney DAVID WILLIAMS , how can I help you?"  They call me at work several times a day and all hours of the night at home, even at 5 am.  This number is from STATEN, ISLAND, NY, I have never been there in my entire life!

Same her, I've received several threatening calls at my job from an Indian decent man name Jason Smith stating I applied for a cash advance & they are taking leagal action against me. Whenever you try to ask where is information coming from, he quotes your SS# & address. This is scary & I do not like this! This is a scam and do not give out any information.

They have called from both numbers, 347-757-6969 and 347-857-9636 and say that I'm going to be arrested on Tuesday at 1PM.I have never heard of anyone scedulingou for an arrest. They are frauds so be careful and dont talk to them

I have also received same phone call never asked me for money but was told I was going to be arrested for 3 charges from transunion and equifax for a loan I had deposited into my account but information wasn't correct so when they went to take it out it was declined on the reversal and another charge for checking fraud I live in Texas they told me I would be taken to New York for trial I froze my checking account and added more passwords because they had my acct number and bank name also had my entire ssn and my employer info

yeah police at my door according to Adam garcia and jack hill saying i owed on a pay day loan and i am going to jail and they are calling my boss...someone arrest these fools!!!!

I have to been receiving calls from this number an also a 334-539-1574. Saying that if I don't return there call I will be facing charges from my local authorities.  The names was a Tom Allen an a Andy couldn't understand his last name.  I called one of them back an told him that I have contacted my local attorney general office. He told me to open my door for the police. An hung up on me.

Have received 5 calls from 2 different people about some kind of law suit against me for some kind of loan. The other number is 347-857-9636. Called them back an they.told me to open my door to the cops. Also told the guy that I have turned them over to the  attorney general's office in my area.

I received the same call and assumed it was spam due to the accent and knowing I would not be made aware of a federal case against me over the phone. I plan to report this to the FBI and Fedral Trade Commission. I do not like the fact that they know my ss#. This is very upsetting.

i am letting you know that i did also receive this call from same number and then it switches to antoher number same person named Adam garcia.  he claimed he was with cash advance in new york city.  he said if i did not pay him money i would be going to jail in new your city.  there are 2 seperate numbers

I got a call at my work- man with a strong accent.  He said his name was Jack Miller calling from Federal Bureau of Investigations( i think was what he said)  and there is a legal case againts me and I need to contact the attorney Adam Garcia ASAP at 347-857-9636 or they would send the cops.  I took the number but didn't call.  I got this same call and voice message on my cell phone.  A total of 14 missed calls between my work and cell phone, which is harasment.

I finally got fed up and called the local Federal Burea or Investigations (FBI) Reported that somebody was inpersonating the FBI.  Told them the situation and they filed a report and suggested I that I don't answer the phone since these guys will scam you of giving them money, and suggested that I file a report with the AZ Federal Trade Commission as well (877)382-4357, which I did (referrence # 44198719)

AZ Federal Trade Commission suggested that I contact AZ Attorney General as well to file Consumer Fraud at 800-352-8431, which Im about to.

This Jack Miller or Adam Garcia are currently under investigations and I've not heard back from them since after reporting to the AZ Federal Trade Commission.  Hopefully they get shut down for good!

This happened to my sister today. She got a phone call from a Joe Brown at her work telling her that she has felony charges and that she was going to go to jail. They wanted her to pay 496.00 dollars and she said no. They called from 347-857-9636 and they knew all her info, checking account number,Ssn, address, work address and work number.

I'm so glad I looked at this site I also received calls from Adam Garcia and James Arnold today saying I had federal charges against me when I asked what the charges were the men told me not to interrupt them while they are talking they claimed to be with the federal legal legislation department and said I had three federal charges against me when I know I don't.. they told me my identity was stolen cursed me out and hung up. I called the IRS and the federal treasury and both departments said they were a bogus company and mnot to worry but i still went to my bank and had my accounts frozen for now.... They continued to call and said all types of inappropriate things to me one man got sexual and even asked me what I looked like I told them I was going to have my lawyer contact them and they said forget about it and there were never any charges...... Whatever you do do not send them money its all fraud!!!!!!

I don't know who these people are but something needs to be done. I got a call today saying  they were forwarding my case to the court house in New York. I live in Iowa and don't have a thing to do with New York.  had to call this guy that was claiming to be a lawyer named Joe Brown who was a complete a***ole asking me why I was even talking to him and stating that he does not talk to criminals. He told me I have 3 criminal charges against me which I knew was a lie because I don't do anything besides work. and that on Monday morning they would fax paperwork to my job and I would get fired and be arrested by the sheriffs department by 9 am. And that  I would have to be on trial in New York and have to pay $3,000 and then spend 30 days in prison.They knew everything from my ss # to my address WTFF! And the entire time he would say you will be arrested on Monday morning. I could barely understand a word he said because of his thick indian accent He had to repeat everything and each time he threatened to make my case a lot more worse. They say they are working for some Federal company. I called both the sheriffs department and police station freaking out, and they say it's a scam and it's also harassment. It's just people who have nothing better to do with their lives.

I had a man named James Arnold call me to day and was saying thAT I was going to be arrested that it was important that I called the attorney named Adam garcia then when I called him he said that I would be arrested it did not matter what I did that the cops would be at my door in a hour that something about federal registration and I could barley understand what he was talking about because of his heavy Indian accen

My callers were Joe Brown and Adam Garcia with teh "Federal Government" ..... BS...

called my place of employment saying it was a legal matter.. to call back. I did and when I wouldn't confirm any information on phone, they hung up on me. When I called back, I was told to prepare to be arrested.

These people are frauds. I called 911 and have extra patrol cars around my neighborhood. They hung up on me a few times after I would not verify my address, although they already had my address advised me of it and said they would have a police officer at my door in an hour to arrest me. That is harassment and it is illegal. I am filing charges and will continue to pursue this. They claimed to be with the Federal government and due to the accent I did want to verify the country and federal government they claim to work for, they hung up on me. I called back and asked who the supervisor was, they hung up on me. The last time I called after I calmed down and politely asked them more information in efforts to obtain who exactly this was and possibly use it against them they hung up on me again. Call the police if you get these calls. Chances are if they are calling you, they already have your address and SSN. You may also want to seek legal counsel as to further steps that may need to be taken to prevent harassment, identity theft or worse.

Yes got the same call from them saying that I will get arrested in 4 hours if I dont call them back at 347-857-9636. They had my ss# and license # and he sounds very seriuos and fast with a very heavy indian accent I knew it was a sceem because I have no criminal record. Thanks all

They called my job harrasing me so I had my attorney to them and the man who answered the phone answered as if he was a lawyer and when my lawyer introduced herself he told her to suck his private parts???????

This company just called us with the same BS I'm callin my laywer to c if we can locate these scammers !!!!!

I got a call awhile ago from this number too. The number is 347-979-7433 and want me to call Jo Brown. 347-857-9636, so I looked at the internet and find all this stupid things that they do. Thank you very much for telling this testimony about this people that trying to get attention. My principle in life is; if you know that you're not doing anything bad to your neighbor or to somebody else then,you don't need to worry about!
