Hi everyone. Out of the blue one day I get a call from this foreign speaking man telling me that he was Ryan Fleming, with the FEDERAL CRIMES INVESTIGATION DEPARTMENT. He ask me not to interrupt him until he verifies all my personal information and tells me why he is calling. He claims that I owe $487.00 to a Payday/Cash Advance loan company that has filed a lawsuit against me. He tells me that if I don't settle this matter a warrant will be sent out for my arrest at my home and place of work. He further tells me that the $487.00 is the settlement amount, that if I didn't pay that I would need to get an attorney and see them in court where I would have to pay over $5000.00 in fees. He then ask me how I wanted to handle this through settlement or court. I told him I have no knowledge of any loans and if I owed something to anyone they need to send me paperwork with ALL FACTUAL information about said debt. I further told him he wasnt going to get a dime from me and that he can send who he wants to my home or work. He began to get very aggressive with his speech and at the end "blessed my day." (Really though, whatever man.) This all started I would say towards the end of June, I am still bumbarded with calls and nasty messages. I had enough, at the end of July I began looking up information on their numbers AND I STARTED CALLING THEM!! I confronted them with their schemes, dishonesty, and triflin ways of harassing hard honest working people out of their money. I asked them how they would feel if someone called them on a daily hourly basis being beligerant, trying to get them to take the food out of their families mouth and the clothes off their backs through lies and deceit. To my surprise the man opened up to me telling me that he is in India, that he is hungry, needs help and how he has tried so many different things to get things done the right way but that it was hard.... HE WAS REALLY SINCERE SOUNDING. I asked him to never call me again, HE, hasn't. I would love to tell you the nightmare ended. I have received other calls from others who claim to be with the ANDERSON LAW FIRM, FBI, FEDERAL FINANCIAL DEPARTMENT, STEAL MATTERS LAW OFFICES, etc. They used names like, OFFICER CHRIS PARKER, ANDREW JOHNSON, RYAN FLEMING, OFFICER DON, etc. When I call them back they have used vulgar language asking me if I wanted to do the "horizontal mambo" with them if you get my meaning among other things. Cause we all know true federal agents/agencies speak this way to people. I have now contacted all governmental agencies and put up alerts on my credit, social security, banks, and I have filed a REAL FBI CRIME REPORT against them. Changing my number as well. So tried of these messages and people calling, they need to get a life and stop call me. I report it and nothing is getting done. He said he was calling from Federal Legislative Legal Department.

Guy called my house and work. Stated that I owed money and that I had to pay it by 2:15 or they were sending my information to the court house. He said my license would be suspended and that I would be arrested. Also it would cost me $15000 in court fees on top of what was owed. Serious scam.

so i got a call from this guy who has a real strong accent and claims he is from a legal department. he says i owe money and He tells me to call another number for the person who is handling the case and either I or my attorney should call him before he files paperwork at the court for an unknown offense I supposedly committed. I hear the chatter of many people in the back ground probably doing the same thing. I guess i asked to many questions for him because he ends up hanging up on me.  The numbers from new York and they want you to pay money so you wont go to jail and loose your job--

I recently purchased a new phone. These people have been calling non stop since I got it trying to get in touch with the previous owner of the number. Even though I am not the person they are trying to contact they insist that I will have to pay them in order for them to stop calling. Best you can do is not give them your name or any other personal information, and I may be having my number changed soon.

Your SSN can be used to file a false income tax return to have a refund sent to them instead of you and to fake someone's U.S. citizenship when an otherwise undocumented alien applies for a job in the U.S. In the latter case, you could be stuck with a big tax bill for the income the person using the SSN gets illegally.

The IRS is cracking down hard on these scammers.  See http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/03/28/us- ... E92R10U20130328 .  It is good that they are doing this, because if someone gets your SSN and files a false tax return, you could spend years cleaning up the problem.

Furthermore, the IRS itself says "Do not give a business, or anyone else, your Social Security number just because they ask; always challenge the request." Obviously, this includes people who call you out of the blue on the telephone.

This number keeps calling saying that I have criminal cases against me, but he can't (or just won't) tell me what these supposed cases are. He calles at all hours of the morning and if I don't answer he just keeps calling

Yes my son is getting the same calls from this number. This person has a accent and states he is from a legal department. He claims that someone is using my sons ss#. He calls everyday. He tells my son he needs to call 347-857-8641 to speak to a attorney. In the background you can hear other people and noise going on but it fades in and out.

A guy with a accent keeps calling my sons prepaid phone. He claims he is from some legal department and that someone has been using his ss#. He gets this call everyday with the same person. You can here other people and things going on in the background.

They are just frauds feeding you a very old, very stale line of BS. Tell them to go ahead and bring it on or shove their papers where the sun don't shine. Once they realize you're not a sucker they'll move on. Time is money, but they have lots of time and no money. It may take a while.
Let your employer know that you're being targeted by a fraud. Be sure to mention that this crap can happen to anyone, including him. Their threats are completely empty but they're still annoying and can be vindictive when they become aware that you're on to them. They've been known to jam phone lines and are very profane. Just remember that they're nothing but scammers and full of nothing but hot air. Laugh at them and laugh about them. They're akin to a stink-bug, harmless but very, very foul.

This number is a supposed attorneys office in the state of new york. They told me the same thing. I asked them not to call my work number and the guy got rude and told me i needed to apologize to him an I was going to be arrested tomorrow am!!!! He would not give me any information unless I would say sorry!. If you ever applied for a payday loan online or another loan they are trying to get you to pay them for nothing!!!! That is how they got your ssn. I asked what attorneys office they called from and he would not give me any information at all! He said he did not care about my states rule because he was there in NY...

i got a call this morning from this number stating that they had 3 charges on me from a loan that i never received. when i asked what it was about, they gave me the number 347-857-8641 and speak to the "attorney" in charge of the case. i called that number and they said that they would get me fired from my job, report this to the local courthouse, have me arrested, extradite me to new york city where i will spend 60 days in jail if i don't go get 444.11 in a money order within in one hour of them calling. they also said i could not get off the phone with them the entire time and that i could not tell anyone else what was going on. claimed to be an attorney named joe brown. also said that they would freeze my bank accounts, ss#, and driver's license so i can't get a job. even read me an "affidavit."

I finally decided to answer the call, and they were telling me that I have three criminal charges filed against me. Which i KNOW is wrong, because 1. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING and 2. I would have been notified by mail.... DUH

They "couldn't" tell me what the charges were, but wanted to connect me to an attorney. They have my social security number... I'm nervous that they have my information.

I've tried calling back after hanging up on them but someone sits there and hangs up on me now.

They leave a message but their accent is so thick that it is impoosible to understand.
