Scam Call form Nature Coast Publications (352-200-4761) stating I have won $250.00 in 8 Visa and Master Cards gift cards. The so called customer service rep named  Jeff said I would receive my gift cards in 4 to 5 weeks and that he had 2 questions he needed answered, I said okay. He asked how young I was and if i was employed. I told him my age and said I was unemployed, right after stating that he said okay that is all I needed and hung up. I tried to call the number back about 5 times with no success. Each phone call I made rang about 3 times then a recording came on saying you have reached a number that has been disconnected and is no longer in service, if you feel you have reached this message in error please try your call again.
I googled this company and found out it is a SCAM. They have numerous amounts of phone numbers they call from. I looked Nature Coast publications up on the internet and found that it is located in Spring Hill, Florida. Just be careful and do not give out any information and if possible avoid answering the phone. There name came up on my caller ID. Hope my experience helps someone else.

A man called me today about 5 times @ 6:38pm exactly, his name was Jeff and had told me his code was 1221 as well.  He said he was calling from "The Publishing Company" with Visa/MC cards.  He told me that I was selected and chosen for a $1,000 shopping spree online.  He told me that the information would be sent to my address within 4-5 business days.  He was going on and on about this great offer and told me once I received my card in the mail all I had to do was go online and start my shopping.  I felt it in my spirit that this was a scam, and I was shocked that they knew all of my information.  This thing is "real" you guys, this is definitely as SCAM...here is a few #'s that they have contacted me with:

352-200-4761
954-334-1565
352-200-4765

If you guys see a number like this on your caller ID please do not answer!! This is a scam and I was a victim.

Here is my update as of today:

As soon as I made it clear to them that I wasn't interested in this offer they still told me my name and information was still in the system and had to go on with this offer...and somehow I got disconnected from them...
Right away, I googled the number and found this website and found out it was scam!! So please, please!! Do not answer the phone if you get one of these #'s...they are a bit persistent, and will probably call you private, just let it go! Do not answer!

So after I googled the # I checked my bank account and they in deed took out the $49.50 that they said it was going to cost for the magazines that I was suppose to be receiving! So, I called my bank and got my card cancelled and they said they were going to wipe off that transaction...whew!! Thank God about that.

So I tried calling "The Publisher's Company" again and finally got a hold of this lady and complained about it...She claimed that it was going to be off my account, it's still there though!! Any way, whatever you do, don't answer those #'s I gave you!!

I got some calls from this place but they never asked for my cc number.  I thought it was odd but i though no risk if they did not have my info.  I agreed and picked 3 mags and they said i could cancel at any time which i planned on doing.  Now I had trouble with a different company.  GRANTFORYOU tricked me into a service that did not specify clearly that I would be charged $58 if I did not cancel within a week.  I had to pay that charge cuz apparently I agreed to it.  but I canceled.  2 days after i signed up with them another company called me to verify my memebership by me giving them only the last 4 digits of my cc number. and offer special deals if i gave them my email address.  Said it was free and I asked 4 times "I will not be charged anything right" They said no.  Just offering specials to you.  Well after about a week they charged my card $35!  I called an griped and demanded a cancellation and refund.  They agreed and did it.  I think that grant place sold my cc info to the other place.  so I ordered a new card and canceled that old one.  NOW I'm wondering if this publishing place also got my cc info and that is why they did not ask for it, they had it!  Thank GOD I canceled that card.  So be careful. You ever suspect anything like that and someone has all your info already, they you better cancel your card.

I have worked for this company! The people on the phones calling you are innocent and dont have enough details to know they are scamming you, (actually, they arent they are offering this to you), The company doesnt tell us that the Shipping and Handeling fee is over well over $300. They also scam us, and designate closed and verified comissionable sales to whomever listens to theyre rediculous, big headed orders, they try to keep us in the blind and feed us bullsh-t, like mushrooms, they told one employee that they would be taken care of because they were indeed not conversating while inbetween calls, and indeed they did. they also suspended a few of there heavy-hitters, because they were to my knowledge, finding out too much. They are ripping off their employees as they are you. They have 2 closers for dayshift, Nathan, and Mark, The owners are named, Mark & Barbara Johnson. They also have a company called MRJ Construction or something like that, (tax Freud, I’m sure). That name will also appear on caller id. Nathan(cherry picker) is known for screaming at many of the people that he calls for credit card info, when they get skepticle. He is know to have used an agent (without her knowledge), her name is Elaina. He was heard yellin at a potential customer, “Oh so your saying she(Elaina) is lying, so I should go fire her then, right? I should go out there right now and fire that mother of 3 children because your saying she didnt tell you about the fee, You want me to fire her because you wont pay the $49.50 (or whatever it is)”. Come on, how low is that. They pay these people the minimum to put up with their ongoing contradicting orders, with hopes of making commission, when in fact almost every employee probably does hit commission, but has no way of knowing unless they, (the SUPERvisors,) designate it on a board. I am very sure, 100% sure, that they dont even announce all the closed and verified sales, so that they do not have to pay more, just 1-3 employees a week, barely makes a commission to keep everyone hoping, I am posting scripts and rebuttals as well as the mag lists. I will also contact labor laws and the IRS, as well as the BBB. Their business resides in Spring Hill, FL. In a place called cass circle off of Spring Hill Drive. They are continuously threatening to fire everyone. So this will definately be their excuse for that. Please make calls to the Attorney General of this said place also to the chamber of commerce in Spring Hill, FL. Stay Tuned for more. You will not qualify if you are under 18, over 75, or have no incoming income whatsoever. PS yes your order number is 1221, Have a nice week. ****Please remember, that the people on the phone with you the first time are innocent and are also being scammed by the owners and closers***

NCP / Nature Coast Publishers' Service

I've been receiving calls from this number for at least a week, but when I call back, it sends me straight to a tone. This time, I answered and was told that because of my relationship with "the publishers," I was eligble for a $1000 online shopping gift certificate and 60 issue subscriptions to 5 national magazines (two of which, I alreay subscribe to, so they clearly weren't in league with the actual publishers). They told me that 3 were free, and 2 would be at a discounted fee of $3.83 a week, to be billed monthly. But their behavior and questions seemed very off. They were clearly in possession of my full name, my phone number, and my address.

The first person, Danielle, failed to adequately answer my questions, claiming she was new. She said she couldn't give me a company name better than NCP, although she started to say Nature Coast, and then corrected herself. She asked what I do for a living and my age, in order to help the publishers better target consumers. I was very skeptical, but she said there were no automatic payments and that some information would come in the mail. Then she told me her supervisor would call back to confirm some information. She said that the order had already been put through and that my order number was.... 1221.

When the gentleman, Nathan, called back momentarily, he repeated the profession and age I gave the first person and asked what the name of my company was and what year I had been born. When I told him that I wanted more information from them before I was willing to give him the information, he said "This is just for the records. I could care less. For all I care, you can make something up." When I continued to question him, he screamed "Ya' know what? We don't need your business," and hung up on me. This is clearly and evidently not normal.

The calls come from "The Publishing Company" (according to their operators).  However the company is actually named "Nature Coast Publications".  They are an extremely shady operation and will outright lie to you about their promotion.  They will tell you you were selected as a Visa/MC holder, then ask you if you are a Visa/MC holder.  But it gets better.  Then they tell you that you won $1000 and that to get it you only have to pay a "small shipping and handling fee".  That fee is $3.36 a week -- for the next 60 months -- during which time they will also send you subscriptions for three magazines of your choice.  That price obviously exceeds the price of magazine subscriptions considering *every* magazine offers subscriptions at far below the cover price. If you tell them you're interested, they will *always* say your order number is 1221. Then you'll get a call back from (352) 200 4760 and they will ask for your credit card number.  I cannot stress how important it is that you not give them any information about yourself or your credit card.  If they call you, let them tell you all about the promotion so you can hear for yourself how sketchy it is.  The operators I commonly have heard are "Amanda", "Antoine", "Ruby", "Penny", and others.  Sometimes if you ask for their name, they'll just hang up on you.  Cut them off at the pass and just hang up on them if they call. -INeedAttention.com

My wife received about 14 phone calls on Aug/26/08 from publishers service.  At about 6:30 pm. I picked up the phone, I told the rep that we were not interested and not to call back. He told me he would call back when my wife was home. He called again today 4 times and again we told him no thanks. He was very polite until I told him I was pressing harassment charges. He hung up before I could get any info. I then did some online research and after many failures I reached a woman who was a supervisor. When I told her about the phone calls and gave her the # they were calling, I was told I was not in their system. I told her that I had the sheriffs dpt investigating them she became rude. I asked her to give me her name ,#, and company address and she hung up. My advise to any one who is called more than 3 times by this company is to notify the local law enforcement.

A lady called about 3 times today on 30 NOV 07, she said her name was Brit and that her code was 1221. She said she was calling from "The Publishing Company" with Visa/MC cards. She told me i would be receiving magazines in the mail and that i was chosen for a $1,000 shopping spree online. She told me that information would be sent to my house within 4-5 business days. I tried to call the number back it would ring then hang up automatically. I researched the number on google and found out that it was a scam.
