The calls come from "The Publishing Company" (according to their operators).  However the company is actually named "Nature Coast Publications".  They are an extremely shady operation and will outright lie to you about their promotion.  They will tell you you were selected as a Visa/MC holder, then ask you if you are a Visa/MC holder.  But it gets better.  Then they tell you that you won $1000 and that to get it you only have to pay a "small shipping and handling fee".  That fee is $3.36 a week -- for the next 60 months -- during which time they will also send you subscriptions for three magazines of your choice.  That price obviously exceeds the price of magazine subscriptions considering *every* magazine offers subscriptions at far below the cover price. If you tell them you're interested, they will *always* say your order number is 1221. Then you'll get a call back from (352) 200 4760 and they will ask for your credit card number.  I cannot stress how important it is that you not give them any information about yourself or your credit card.  If they call you, let them tell you all about the promotion so you can hear for yourself how sketchy it is.  The operators I commonly have heard are "Amanda", "Antoine", "Ruby", "Penny", and others.  Sometimes if you ask for their name, they'll just hang up on you.  Cut them off at the pass and just hang up on them if they call. -INeedAttention.com

I got a call from this # too, along with 352.200.4799 and 352.686.1411...I don't even know how the hell they got my mobile # but they're annoying as hell. I'm thinking of changing my #, even if I have had it over 7 years.

I received about 10 phone calls from these motherf*cker's in the last 3 days.  I finally got them to stop by calling from another number and telling them to take my number off their list.

I have received multiple calls from 352-683-7554/352-686-1411/352-686-1411. they call but when you pick up they hang up. If you call back the line is busy or a fax sound. this is a very annoying situation. If any one finds out what this about please post.

they have called me repeatedly for the last month and when I tell them I dont want anything they are very rude, and unprofessional and and hang up on me. This is a scam dont buy into their offers, there is no way to get a hold of them once they hang up on you.

This is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. I decided to look up these 352 #'s, to find a wealth of people with the same problem with the same #'s. I have no idea where to begin, but this has to be illegal, and there are sooo many people, that this has become a problem for. I've seen sites for a reverse # search where you can supposedly get the information that owns the number, but I don't want to start paying for that. I think it is directly linked to sites that support & advertise getting paid for surveys. I stumbled on a site called SurveyScout.com there is a charge for this service that I am in the process of getting a refund. It is a database of 100's of sites that claim to pay you or sign you up for a number of sweepstakes. (I believe some are truthful), but I think 90% of them are scams where you fill out information (including phone numbers sometimes) claiming that this information is not used. This is where my problem had started. I quickly realized what was going on and cancelled to every site I had just registered and also requested a refund through SurveyScout.com Since then I receive 7-10 emails a day claiming that I have won a substantial cash sweepstakes or Lotterys or I am the one to rightfully inherit some $400,000 from a bank in Nigeria. (WHAT???) I want to find a route that is not a dead end road. There are only the phone nombers that have no information and several Email addresses known to be "419" scams. Strange, Strange, Strange.

Received my first call yesterday from 352-200-4763.  I have received two more since then from 352-200-4770 and 352-200-4767.  My cell phone rings and vibrates at the same time, but when these numbers call it starts to vibrate and doesn't even get to the ring before they hang up.  It immediately reports a "missed call" on my phone.  I think it maybe has something to do with my ringback tone....can't imagine an auto-dialer would sit through the music.

731-414-7796,763-225-8280, 913-248-1105 in reverse order, all times of day, at least once a day.  913 number was the begining of the calls asking for a credit card number, they knew my name. I have keyed in numbers not to ring when these numbers call. Did anyone else register to win a contest on the internet prior to these calls?

they called me at least a dozen times today until i answered and they gave the speech of a thousand dollar shopping spree online and then offered free magazines.  Amanda said her manager would call back to verify but that everything was in the mail.  when megan called to verify she asked for my credit card number after making small talk.  when i asked her why she said it was to bill the magazines to...when i said amanda told me it was free megan the "manager" hung up...well see if i get calls tomorrow...def some kind of scam....

I think I managed to get these numbers to stop calling me - well, it's been two days since my last one and they used to call 10+ times per day.

This number is one of many (see below for the list) that I call the "Brooksville Scammers" - all these numbers are based out of western Brooksville, FL and according to all the posts on here, they sound very scam like.

They started calling me a few weeks after another Florida started calling me constantly. I found out that by turning off my GSM (Cingular or T-Mobile) phone while a call was coming in, it wouldn't ever go to voicemail - they would instead get a fast-busy signal. I had hoped this would be a way to get them to think my line was dead. Unfortunately it didn't work.

But, it did give me good insight into their phone system! When I gave them a fast-busy it must have meant "re-try" because, like clockwork, I would get a call from them every 16 minutes.

This is very similar to the actions of (407) 226-9657, but they only had one number.

I ended up getting 10-12 calls from them a day, from their different phone numbers. The same number called multiple times, so I'm not sure if I've gotten all of them (indeed, looking through the posts on all these numbers there are some others that didn't end up dialing me.)

** SO ** the import part - how I stopped them (well, so far) :
I have not heard from ANY of these numbers (Including 407-226-9657, though I don't know if they're the same organization) since I recorded the SIT (Special Information Tone) on my voicemail.

The SIT is the three-tone you hear when you dial a number that's out of service - many dialers listen for it to tell if the number is working or not, and evidently it still works on some.

I also included a rather stern message. Note, I only send callers to this vm if I think they're really telemarketers!

It's very annoying.  I am a professional musician and to be constantly interrupted by these phone calls is TOO MUCH!!

Called twice today, to my prepaid cell.

When I answered the second time, they said that it was Publisher's Sweepstakes.

I told her that it was a prepaid cell and not to call again.

I keep getting calls from the same area code (352), also. When I pick up nobody is there. When I attemt to call back, I get a prerecorded message saying something along the lines of "We're sorry, this number has been disconnected or is not in service anymore. Thank you!" It is very aggravating because I know that I just got a call from the same exact number less than a minute ago! Does anyone know how to stop it?

Calls from the same number here.  First call 8/22/07. No one is there when I pick up and they do not leave a message.  When you call back you either get a fax machine or a busy signal.  Calls from the following numbers started last week:

They called my cell phone and a lady named Amanda was on the phone. She was telling me that i was selected to get $1,000 gift certificate to shop on-line. She asked if i had a VISA or MASTER CARD.

In the past four days I've received at least 10 calls from 352-683-7554; 352-200-4763 and 352-686-1441.  Calls never last long enough to answer them and calls back get me fax machine beeps or strange tones.  I've had to call and have them blocked from my cell service

They have called my cell phone at least 5 times in these past few days. It is an area code from gainesville, florida. It is pretty annoying and because of it I have left my cell phone on silent the whole week. I have been avoiding picking up the phone because honestly I am not sure what I would say. I am thinking about probably telling them to quit calling. Because I bet they are going to call tomorrow or the day after that.
